  • cute :)

  • @AZstarwatcher Cute??? I thought I was being a bad ass! :p *kidding* --but there is no doubt that my blue bunny from France named "Mone" in the background is as cute as a bug's ear! :P (Thanks for commenting :) )

  • From the moment you step into the light, we (the listener/watcher0 know we're in good hands. Absolutely! Half full, indeed. All the way full, this one. And funny...

  • well, at least it wasn't 'the joy of sex.' that would've been wrong on so many levels...

  • @itsBABYSMITH well, I've been looking for someone to collaborate with on that first book and was wondering if you... ah... I won't go there... but I do love being wrong on so many levels! :P

  • Funny guy you are, but you were right. It was a half-full fifth of scotch. Yet, you and your readers might notice, that drinking alcohol lead many to lack of common courtesy and loss of all gratitude.

  • Norman would be proud of you, lol... with friends like you - who needs enemies>? :-S

Sounds like a theme to me ;-)

  • That one is a keeper for me! Good Job!

  • Elaina43: Thank you. Oh and that wasn't the phone. That was the little remote I turn the camera on and off with. I can't edit to save my life. :P

  • ah well, my assumption makes an ass of me again...

By the bye, I think your poems would suffer if edited.

  • I meant your poetry videos - I bet you knew that but I did not want you to have to assume.

  • Very Nice!

  • That was amazing :)

  • the best poem ever! the delivery was flawless.

  • the best poen ever. the delivery is flawless

  • It sounds like a case of: "you cannot judge a book by its cover"! Came in handy. Great humor, thank you for the levity. I hope some of that power dislodged some of that negativity.

  • hehe this is awesome

  • Love this one , so please except 5 possative stars.I have all so had the same half full glass of whisky.

    love is all

    trevor sizzle

  • Amazing poem, Dave. Great how just a few lines can speak volumes and open my imgaination.

  • I like this poem, very funny too. The scene is cool and the video is very light, it kind of goes with the joke. The doll in the window is cute too. Well done, sir.

  • "half to death"

I'm digging this poem, very funny!!!

  • hahaha I found this hilarious. This was great. Very well written.

  • Ha ha ha. Nice piece. Now that's Positivism at work! . It reminds me of a poem by Alden Nowlan: "Fair Warning."

  • Love it!! I also listened to your "live" version on aboynamedana's channel and loved it as well. I left a comment there that I would love to see you perform live. You should post when are you are going to do open mics someplace, or at least start a mailing list or something to send out updates.

  • Excellent! The power of positive thinking was used for this video! 5 stars

  • Wonderful David!!!5*****

  • FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!

  • Say, wasn't that Glenlivet?

  • Love it!

  • WATCH in high quality.

  • I love the power of positive thinking. Good ending. Lol

  • I can tell you're enjoying this!

  • Second listening on this one impressed me even more, David--this Bad Boy resonates!

    Roy

  • lmao. A good one, my friend. You must've been in a rather punchy mood for this one. Another of yours going into my favorites.

  • harleynanda: thanks my fine fellow. I'm just in a good mood because KarinFredrika is almost at 1,000 subs! I saw your comment on her page--I'm glad people are still supporting her. :) Honored that you faved it!

  • POsitive thinking, NIce one... hehe

  • One of my favorites of your poems to date. It has all the elements of humanity and humour that I have come to enjoy, brilliantly conveyed by your words. A bit of a classic!

  • Excellent! That was sick, in the good way! Keep rockin'. Cheers! Melvin.

  • Ahaha! The end is amazing :D

  • ninapoetry: thank you very much Nina! :P

  • nicely done. i like your style.

  • cuddlebuttons: I want to learn at the class of cuddlebuttons and be the teacher's pet :P

Thanks very much for the comments :)

  • i love watching you walk into frame! such consistency with your awesomeness. ah, the slurrs of repentance...and you are bathed in light b/c you ARE just that :)

  • 1/2 of a fifth is a 1/10th (right?). Doesn't sound like much to me. My advice: tell him drink never solved anyone's problems ... take the whole bottle for yourself!

Hey, the halo effect suits you, stars like confetti.

  • PoetLina: Be honest. Do you think all the white light around me makes me look a *little* like the baby Jesus?

Ha ha... ooooh... I am so going to Hell for that remark... :p ---thanks for the comment!

  • a great end to a wonderful and ironic poem.

    Paul

  • Great, great. The ending was wonderful, and you had a pretty awesome Jack Nicholson-esque moment in the "HALF-FULL" stanza.

    I laughed. 5*

  • thepoliticpoet: You know, I don't try to do Jack on purpose--but I've seen The Shining about 100 times (Kubrick fanatic)--I think he has kinda crept in somehow :p --- actually, him as Jack Torrance and Heath Ledger as the Joker--those are my two favorite film performances... Ledger's delivery is a thing of poetry... thanx for the comment!

  • Just love this poem...and seeing you in the light of day.

I didn't know it was possible. Does the perimeter of the ankle bracelet extend that far? :)

  • tinySpectacle:

Well I never been to Heaven

    But I been to Oklahoma

Well they tell me I was born there

    But I really don't remember :P

  • DRC:

Well I never been to Spain

But I kinda like the music

See the ladies are insane there

And they sure know how to use it

  • tinySpectacle:

    They don't abuse it

    Never gonna lose it

    I can't refuse it

  • shooot..i thought i had you in my awesome vids, sorry..it is now!

Ps: Clay is a brat, not moi..or Mone(t)

  • Brazdolph: As long as you keep feeding her carrots and caviar--Mone will let you call her anything you like! :p

  • clever- but I still hate Dr. Phil- ha ha- "tough love" was invented by Behaviorists because too many with good insurance were cooling their heels in rehab to save a job or marriage- how clever am I?!- snuck an essay into a compliment- like what and how you do!

  • BraniganWCooth: Very cool comment... I liked the essay :p

  • whew.........

  • I loved it. Irony is wonderful.

  • CamoquinProductions: Thank you very much for commenting Cammy! :)

  • LOL Classic... I've known a few people in my life that this would've been good for. Excellent 5*

  • MrDaMan: Thank you sir... it's an honor to get 5 stars from you!

  • I sense a bit of irony? awesome poem David!

  • Even when I try to think up these sweetly delicious ironic conclusions in my own style, I can't. Beautiful! Fives, and the new view is great for the body language, which is such a trademark aspect of your delivery.

  • sounds like my ex!! ^_^....lol..

David, you're actually in daylight!! and i see monet is enjoying that sunlight!!

  • Elvira: Actually, Mone is on the OUTSIDE of the window looking in--freezing her blue tail off!

Oh... Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuu, happy birthday dear ElviraDarkSixxxxxxxxx... happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuuu! :P

  • oh ya..i was gonna say, did you move to Florida?LOL....

thanks alot David, now wheres that puff? ^_^

  • Elvira: You mean Puff the Magic Dragon? You KNOW what that song was written about... oh yeah... you DO! :P

    HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAAAAAAAAY again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i've always loved that song, but only after i was old enough to know what it was about!! ^_^ hehheh

  • Excellent as usual.

I suppose this would be an example of 'poetic justice'?

  • IGazor: Well, if the pen is mighter than the sword... then I don't see why one can't beat the crap out of someone with a book! :p

  • LOL The power of .... yup.

  • HAHAHA very clever

  • that was excellent and loved the ending lol :D

  • Good stuff as always, David

  • The floor might be creeking but you certainly are not! Excellent

  • lloydhywel: damn mic picks up everything! :p

Actually, there are parts of me that are starting to creek :P --- thanks for commenting ;)

  • you´re featured at my channel! yay! lol

  • i saw a blue bunny!

  • Brazdolph: If you click on "watch in high quality" -- Mone looks fraking awesome! :p

Now she wants to move down south with you and Caly and eat all your carrots... it's freezing her and she is outside the window in the video :p

  • Braz: you and CLAY I mean... it is hard to type with one hand (holding a half empty fifth of scotch in the other hand) :P

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! YOU CRACK US UP, sir..

  • my cat would tear mone(t) apart...you don´t want that..

  • this was hilarious! rsrsrsrsrsrsrsrsrrs...

  • Nice reading *****stars;)

  • Kabuki: Thank you sir! I'm sorry I called you a crazy bastard before. I was half-drunk at the time :P --- peace :)

  • Don't be silly, you were spot on, I am something of a crazy bastard :P unlike some people I've got a sense humour :D

  • Haha love it love it love it! 5 stars :-)

  • i think i like that one the best!

  • lol Ironic. Mind you, I would be tempted to throw a 1/2 full fifth of scotch at anyone who gave me that book. Well, only if it was the cheap stuff. ;)

  • longhairred: I'd tell the bastard to wait... drink down the rest of the scotch as quick as I could--and THEN throw it at him! :p

    ------------thanks for the comment!

  • Woohoo! =)

  • This guy is Chaplin's Tramp and doesn't even have the good sense to smile--throwing the scotch bottle at you is, however, an act of empowerment on his part. Duh, I suppose.

    But the irony is gorgeous.

    Roy

  • haha, "The Power of Positive Thinking."

  • i luv this one its fab lol lurvvvvvvvvvvvvv it xxxxxxx

  • I just watched this video with the sound off and learnt a completely new language. Try it.

  • nordicsky: thanks for the comment :) --what is really surreal is putting the video into the editing softwear to convert it into a high quality file--the image moves at 1/4th the speed with no sound.

  • You are a storyteller par excellence. Every poem is like a one act play.

Incidentally, this is the first Ive seen you and Moan in daylight. It seemed strange.

    Regards, Peter

  • Nice change of scenery David, this is very symbolic poem of those who stick to negativity and spit vitriol at others who live on the more positive side of events. I also believed that "rock bottom" is in fact death and if life is just so not worth living then why do these people still wake up everyday, life in that respect really does go on! And err... is that Mone in the window there?

  • visionghost: Thanks for the comment. Yeah, that is Mone on the outside of the window looking in the from the freezing cold! That rabbit is such a ham she will do anything to get on camera--just like me :p

  • Is half dead the same as half alive? Love the way you play with words and concepts. Interesting change of scene and doings. :)

  • Loreleila: I was going to go with half alive but then thought it was too upbeat :p -- thanks for the comment :P

  • That was absolutely brilliant, I'll be chuckling all day. 5* and Fav.

  • Rowan: Well, why you are chuckling I'll be drinking all day :p --- seriously, thanks for the stars and the fav!

  • *FACE PALM* *chuckle*

    Nice one DRC. Very nice.

  • OH....ha! I LOVE THIS ONE!!

Hmm.....I'm digging the change of 'atmosphere' for this one! Dark humored poetry spoken in the midst of sunshine beaming purely through the window sheers.....and your precious Mone bunny soaking up the warmth of the brilliant rays as you give us your sly words and gestures :)

interesting and addictive poet you are!:P

    5 stars!!!

  • I dunno......the good bad & the ugly all line up like planets in this opus- on the plus side the "spokn word" was so seedy, it made me gleeful- on the other hand there was a certain lack of beauty as if the "poem" was written with the blood of a drowned cat- on the other hand this piece seemd to mark a milepost on the poets quest to find his main "voice" so all n all have 5 stars and a golden globe-

  • haswatnik: Hey, that comment sounds like an old blues song, "that woman wrote in a goodbye letter, written in the blood of a drownedcat... I say that woman left me.."

---------great insight into this little ditty. I give your comment a golden globe :P

  • Hahaha, That was wonderful DRC (and Mone, of course). A 5-star constellation for you, and favorited too. Humorous, clever, and a joy to watch.

  • lol. oh the sweet sweet irony.

  • This is amazing. Absolutely brilliant.

    ***** & favorie

  • Beautiful irony. Half full 1/5 lol.

  • Yes! That was great - I love the words and the bitter irony. The hand motions are great - you really know how to deliver.

  • There's something inherently funny about fractions... good work David.

  • That was a good laugh. I'm still feeling warm all over.

I'll bet even Dr. Peale didn't know how useful his book could be!

You are still a genius, David.

  • Love the ironic twist. Hehehe.

Looks great! More vids delivered like this!
