I never realized that this music was by Sivuca (whom I recently discovered and whome I completely love). I like that you used a book as a background, since Chico's lyrics are always so literary, at least they seem that way to me. Plus it's a waltz (in 3/4 time) and I really like waltz time. Parabéns!

yes, swinbossa. And if you have a look to the lyrics here beside, you ll see that he sings about fary tales... I used to sing it when i was 11 (1977) but i just realised the meaning of lyrics now..rsrs.. and puting the background with Grimm Brothers it got still more sense to me.

I also thought this song was about Joao Gilberto and Miucha (chico's sister) who were gettin divorced when he wrote this. I could be wrong about that.

yes, swinbossa, there is violence in grimm tales, but they are metaphoric, talking about the universe inside children and their fear and difficulties. Chico tells in 77 that the song is about tales (there s a video in youtube showing it) but its very clear in the lyrics too. Well, of course they are also metaphoric to Chico too, concerning his problems, the ones he knows and the ones he doesnt...rsrs

That s what tales are always about.
