  • @backstabingliar - the accuracy of this comment is so very temporary ;)

  • @guitarded71 "Everything is temporary" - is what Buddha say :)

  • Classic

  • I just listened to another Folkstar and it sounded kind of thin and tinny. Although the player was using a pick and didn't slide as much as you. Do all the Folkstar guitars sound as good as yours? Did you change cones? Thanks. The video I was watching is VIDEOSUPRO.flv here on Youtube.

  • @moosehorn20 - the cone is original, I've found Folkstars to be VERY hit-or-miss. Some of 'em just sound bad, but if you're lucky you can find one with lots of volume and bass.

  • Sounds good. It seems like the original is a bit louder, acoustically, than the Eastwood.

  • @787Bisurdaddy - pretty hard to compare to the Eastwood - the original is fiberglass, the Eastwood is firewood.

  • @guitarded71

Yes, I realize that. The Eastwood also plugs into an amp. Both are good in their own way.

  • @guitarded71 this is probably the first time in history fiberglass has been compared favorably to mahogany.

    or anything

  • @magicalbilly - and yet in THIS instance it is so clearly superior...

  • lazy baja swamp slide rock!!!!!!!

  • great playing!

  • eastwood is starting to ship out their re-issues ot this thing

  • The "reissues" have wood bodies and pickups...I don't think they're going much like the old fiberglass bodied Folkstars. Even the body shape looks kind of funny.

  • oh yeah i know, i agree 100%, i got an Eastwood Airline 3pdlx, doesnt sound like the original, but i like that, because its tone chambered mahog, so its got its own sound. and it really doesnt look like the original that much either.

thatll probably be the case with the Folkstar reissue too.

where did you get that thing by the way?

  • It was one of those "once-in-a-blue-moon" ebay scores...not only did the seller have it listed in a totally unrelated category, he had it listed as a "Supra" hahaha. Even though the headstock logo looks brand new and is perfectly legible. The guitar looks like it was barely played. Check out my other vids for some more cool Supro guitars.

  • splendide

    quelle merveille

  • *****Nice music & a nice guitar I've never seen before

  • i will eventually own one of these. if my life depends on it.

  • Try before you buy - they weren't all created equal. Some of them don't seem to have much volume or depth, I got lucky and got one that's really loud. Also, they have no trussrods, so make sure you get one with a playable neck.

  • yeah i have 2 airline's, a kay and a harmony. so far i have been ultra lucky and bought gems. i am english so i have to take a chance off U.S ebay and ship them over. these resoglass resonators dont pop up very often.

  • One on ebay right now: 190313526336

The guy has listed it at least 3 times before and it hasn't sold so maybe he'd be willing to ship to the UK.

  • i am out of work at the minute so cant afford another guitar. plus i cant bare to part with the guitars i have to fund it, so i will have to wait a while haha cheers anyway.

  • Oh man, I want one of these sooooo badly!!

  • ah.....amazing lovely tone~~

  • Thanks for your comment !

Great example of resoglass ! (classic Supro head, I guess... My Airline example got one with a National shape, & plastic bindings around fretboard's sides...)

... And great playing too !

    Cheers from France !!
