I collected most of them years ago before it became so difficult to find them. A lot of parts show up on ebay from time to time, but at double or triple their original cost. You're doing what a lot of people have done... they weigh about the same!
@blindtoo Oh man that's a bummer. I really wish people would realize how cool Polys are and get a supply parts website going or something! I have a 65 International Stepside pickup that once I am done with the Satellite I'm going to restore and hopefully put the 318 Poly into it, because I really don't want to junk such a cool engine. Plus it sounded soo mean. Here's what it sounded like before I took it out /watch?v=GWIwjYutCKc&feature=plcp&context=C3687179UDOEgsToPDskIrEc-ZowcN01HsbMeInARv
Sounds pretty kewl... mine is sort of mellow, I wish I had a better cam, and deeper exhaust though.
There's a yahoo group dedicated to the poly, lots of great info there. Unfortunately, many people who have these parts want a huge profit over seeing someone else build a poly instead of yanking it.
Oh. It wasn't 'set' at that rpm, it's how it was out of the box. I had just installed the engine and put the gauges in the night before. I wasn't too concerened with the red arrow... now I have an MSD and it's set at about 5500 or so.
Where do you find parts for poly's? I had one in my Satellite but couldn't find parts so I took it out and I have a 440 waiting to go in it.

Is 4 grand really the highest you can take that thing? Figured with the small stroke it would be a little bit of a rpm monster.

@Boredout454
Um... where did you get that from? The shift point for WOT is a lot higher.

@blindtoo You had your redline set on your tach at around 4400rpm.
