@BlackSweatshirtGuy Nah. You don't need all the specs the MBP has to offer really if you're just doing basic school work. If you're doing full-on video editing projects and the like, maybe the MBP would be more for you.

I'm actually at uni and I bought the MBP (mainly because I got a higher education discount of 20% on it) and I'm very happy with it. If I didn't have the discount option available, I would have just bought an MB as that will do the job just as well for me.

@lonnyboy101 I think so. I've got the 15" Pro model with a 2.8ghz, 4gb, and the integrated graphics which can be switched from low performance to high. On high performance, I can play flight simulator x (via bootcamp) at almost its highest settings and it looks great. And of course, its very fast for running internet, downloading, etc. Its a 4-5 year computer. So it will pay for itself by then.

I got the mac book pro intsead...this one can get really dirty, and the cover can crack if you drop it cuz its plastic :)

Only if you get the Apple Protection Plan. But I get extended warranty on everything I can.

The Macbook does get dirty pretty easily, but it's also easy to clean. It doesn't show up so much on the aluminum models. The new Macbooks are also unibody enclosures. They don't crack like they used to, with several peices of plastic glued together to make the enclosure. The new models will only crack with physical force. Age isn't an issue.
