  • Papa kusakunai oo..

    Dame, papa wa kusai deshita..

    haha

    gotta love nina.. XD

  • ごめん (^•^) .....かわいいです*

  • ぱぱくさいの?...からいいです。

  • ahahah!! sutenchii! hahahha so cute

  • LOL at 1:46 she was like "wtf??!" she's so...incredibly cute

  • This is so much fun to watch. I can't wait to be a dad.

  • So I understand "natto" isn't a foreigner's favourite food in Japan, just like 臭豆腐 ("chòu dòufu", literally "stinky tofu") in China. Interesting!

I must be the only foreigner who likes stinky tofu, but from the pictures I've seen I'm not so sure about natto haha

  • @MrMoutonSheep ha ha I do know a few foreigners here who like natto. My wife and daughter eat it all the time, so I've learned to tolerate the smell, anyway. I love tofu, but 臭豆腐 sounds suspicious. ha ha

  • the part where you said "mama loves nattou" and nina said "Mama's gonna eat all of it?" makes me laugh :D

i loveee nina. she's so cute!

  • Nattou oshikunai! Shikashi heathly tabemono deshou!

  • Kawwwwaiii T^T

  • she is so adorable

  • omg I havent seen one of the earlier videos.. she was so cute!

  • she is so adorable...love her and you seems to be a very nice dad!! :-)

  • I can't believe that even a 2 year old is as good as me if not better at Japanese....

  • @Cyrus150

well, she's a native Japanese speaker, of course she's gonna be better..

    D:

  • @310BPM but she was 2! They have small vocabs...

  • @Cyrus150

she's been speaking Japanese for probably a year or more, though.

and she's a native speaker, so by default she's gonna be better, since she learned at a young age.

  • haha thanks for sharing this! those cheeks~~~ grrrrrrr ♥♥♥ >_<

  • this video make me wanna have my own child.need to get marry as soon as possible...:P

    cute gurl btw

  • So very cute!

I watched this with my 3 year old and now she is shouting "Nattou! Nattou!" :)

  • ニーナでよーつべパンクしそう^^

  • ninaaaaaaa just how much i wanna pinch your cheeks >.<

  • haha the way nina says hattou and then so eagerly says nattou right after is so cute ><

  • I love natto! :)) I don't understand why people think it stinks. I think it smells and tastes so good.

  • @supalosuh I envy you! I want to like it. Nina and my wife love it. But, I just can't get past the smell.

  • @geofg i think they are born with natto smell resistant....

  • @babebelle89 ha ha Must be.

  • I want to hug Nina!

  • soo...she just taught me japanese hahaha!! i love her!!!!!!!

  • um... she is just toooooooooo cute!!!

  • love the way she said STINKY ;)

  • With Nina being bilingual there's no limit to what she can do in her life.

I hope you keep posting these videos. She's so precious and adorable.

  • It's really cool of you that you can teach her two languages at the same time! And she now she can speak the two very well. I'm sure she's very ahead of her classmates in school (or soon!) :D

  • @francesell She will start elementary school in another year, so she hasn't had any English yet in pre-school. It will be interesting to see how she does when her English classes start.

  • @geofg OMG im so curious for it...

  • @kemushichan Loretta, we'll have to keep in touch (through FB or something) so I can update you from time to time on Nina's progress. I will stop posting vids of Nina once she starts elementary school, but I know you are interested in language acquisition so would probably like to hear how she turns out.

  • @geofg u gonna stop posting? oh no... her cuteness light up most of my day :(

  • @geofg Oh I'm so sad to hear you won't be posting more videos! But I totally understand and respect that. It's a very wise choice, although mildly dissapointing for those of us who have fallen in love with Nina and love watching her grow. =]

  • @willsonholub14 Thanks for understanding. I'll miss doing it, too, but once Nina starts elementary school, I think it will be time to move on.

  • @geofg I'm so sad you won't be continuing Nina's videos once she starts school. I am a Japanese teacher in Australia and love to show these clips to my primary students. They love the mix of English and Japanese in your conversations together and they learnt the Oni no Pantsu song from Nina's video clip! I was hoping we could still follow her and see the life of a primary school student, but I understand you feel the need to draw a line for her privacy now she is getting older.

  • @fordmodelt2001au That's great to hear that Nina's vids could be of use in your Japanese class! Oni no Pantsu has some good Japanese grammar structures in it. I will keep posting until next March, anyway, so check back if you have the chance!

  • Kawaii desu ne! Nina chan wa nan sai desu ka? Watashi no musume wa san sai desu. Please correct me if any of this is wrong. Nihongo wa benkyoushimasu demo watashi no nighongo wa chotto hetta desu

  • I don't know if I'm being weird but I think nattou smells and tastes like coffee. It might have been the nattou that I bought but I was getting a really strong coffee smell from it. The only reason I cant eat it is when I taste coffee, I don't really want to chew smushy beans.

  • @BruckThatsMe I love the smell of coffee. If natto smelled like coffee to me, I'd have no problem with it. ha ha

  • lol, does it really smell like dirty socks? haha, how can nina and mama eat it then? lol. cute nina. how old did nina starts to talk? coz i have a 2 years old nephew but he hasn't talk yet, still 1 or 2 syllable talk.

  • @radziahradzi Yeah, it's horrible. I don't know how they eat it.

All kids start talking at different times. Some kids start late and then, suddenly, when they are three they start speaking in sentences. I'm sure your nephew will come along fine.

  • "Papa stinks." LOL! She's so precious!

  • Nina is so famous ! hahaha ^0^ my schoolmates talk about Nina and i'm asking them who's Nina ?? why they need to talk about Nina blablabla ... NOW i know ! haha ! <3

  • Woww, her English has really improved! I started watching her younger videos, and she definitely learns quickly! Go little Nina!

  • wah pinter ya kecil2 udah bisa bahasa jepang hahaha...

  • ハハ!ニーナはとても面白いです。あなたは素晴らしい親です!

  • @KittyScene101 ありがとうございました!

  • パパ、Scanned Photos From My Past見ました!

  • @nal4122 Heh heh. ありがとう!若いころはよくヒゲと髪の毛の長さとかで遊びました。ニーナもあの写真を見たらびっくりするかな。

  • omg mega Kawaii and funny!!!!!^^

  • She's so clever speaking two languages at the age of two! Amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi, i teach English as a second language and i found your videos very interesting! :D I hope you will continue posting up videos, it's a learning experience :D Thanks!

  • @beebubba Thanks for the comment! I'll probably keep it up a bit longer.

    Where do you teach ESL?

  • @geofg hi! Sorry for the late reply. I teach in Brunei, and it's a very weird country. Language wise at least! Bilingualism is widely accepted and encouraged but the value of the first language is strongly preserved. Some are very good English language users, and some are not. It's funny because it's really either or, together in one country. It's really hard to explain actually, but you get me thinking on how I would teach my kids the two languages in the future!

  • AWWW SHES CUTE!

  • dirty socks, LOOOOOOL

  • Omedeto, Nina :)

  • ^_^

  • かわいい!!! WWWWWW

    パパくさいの ahahaha

  • she is so cute!!!

  • Adorable! <3

  • She is so cute! Nattou is definitely an acquired taste. My family and I lived in Japan for three years and I could never get used to it.

  • wow even at 2 years old she's really smart at learning both languages. I'm very impressed she's a really amazing girl. Every video of her is adorable thank you for sharing wonderful precious moments of Nina with us.

  • @HatchuneMiku01 Thank you!

  • naruto

  • This is the first Nina video that I saw... do you know that it's circulating on Facebook now? Haha~ I'm actually watching it again! I think this must be the 8th or 10th time I've watched this. XD Yea I laughed too when she said "papa kusai"... so cute! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful videos of Nina that really make our days!

And I love nattou when I was in Japan for work a few years back. =P

  • @deedeedare I'm impressed that you liked natto! I've tried and tried, but I just can't get into it. ha ha

  • she is just precious.

  • HEY NATTO might smell but ITS GOOD >:(

  • @Soh12Beatbox That's what my wife and Nina keep trying to tell me, but I'm afraid it's hopeless in my case.

  • @geofg i guess that'd be the same for durian...its tastes soo good but the smell's just unconvincing hehehe

  • @geofg Nattou is good ^_^

Sometimes in the way you prepare it, it taste different, because it sweet, sometime if you try preparing different it salty

  • @JapanOtome いろいろな使い方を試してみたけどどうしても食べられないですよ。笑

  • @geofg あなたは味を買収必要、後はハンドル匂いそれを食べるために、味は楽しいです

  • very cute, very adorable !

  • brilliant chat, so lovely and cute !!!

  • adorable!!!!

  • Wow she knows english and japanese. Smart little girl!

  • this video is soooooooooo adorable! :) so so cute! i think it's asolutely wonderful that you love your family so much, geofg. :)

  • @SuperDeech Thanks! I had really great family around me when I grew up, so I want Nina to have that, too.

  • I wonder what would be Nina's reaction upon watching her videos after 10 years.

This girl's just so cute and adorable. Very smart, too. :)

  • stinky soy beans! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

    I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!

  • @nessin18 Heh heh. So, have you tried those stinky soybeans? Nina still LOVES them.

  • smart indeed !

SHE SOO ADORABLE!!! and shes one smart baby!

  • lucu banget sih ne anak jd pengen w culik !!

  • やばい!めっっっっっちゃかわいい!!!

  • when i went to japan a couple years ago, i couldnt even get myself to trying natto. my obachan <3's it though. :]

  • I've tried it a few times. I want to like it. But, I just don't.

  • Aww kawaii!! =D it sounds like she says "stanky" when she tries to say "stinky" that's the cutest thing ever!! (=^-^=)

  • :)) haha papa, you're stinky!

  • awe shes so cute

  • You got that right, natto us indeed stinky. My wife and Nano love it but I can barely be in the same room as natto.

  • I used to feel like I should just be a man and learn to like it, but there are plenty of other Japanese foods that I love, so why bother.

  • @geofg

Here here. I have tried it (eveyone else seems to like it) but it was like foul smelling snot. Like you say there are plenty of other amazing Japanese foods, I'm not wasting any valuable tummy space on natto. Yuck.

  • She is soooooooooo cute when she said Papa stinky instead of Nutto stinky!!!

  • lol shes soo cute

  • 2:00 Nina is soooo cute!!!!

  • She's soo funnnyyy

  • Most of my friends find Nattou kinda yucky.. and I remember seeing someone once said in a variety show that kids usually hate nattou. So I'm suitably impressed that she actually likes it

    p.s I love nattou too ^^

  • Nina has grown up eating nattou, so I guess it is natural for her. I tried nattou for the first time when I was 33, so I just can't get used to it. Ha ha. Did you start eating nattou from an early age?

  • I (hesitantly) tried it for the first time when I was about 25 I think, but surprisingly liked the taste..

We have something similar in chinese cuisine, though it's not really fermented, just preserved. But I find the taste similar

Maybe that's the reason I like nattou

  • thank you so much for sharing Nina's childhood with us!!! It makes my day (while i sit in my room suffering with loads of homework she can ALWAYS make me smile!) haha i should post a vid response thanking you for these awesome vids!

    and lol "papa stinks" XDDDD

  • Thanks! I'm glad watching Nina's vids can give you a break from your homework.

  • 0:36 she's so adorable!

  • ahh!!! shes so cute!

    so kawaii~

  • I actually love Nattou!

    Oishii da yo!

  • I never liked natoou. You guys are awesome parents.

  • Yeah, I've tried to like nattou, but I just can't enjoy it. Thanks for the comments!

  • lol

  • I came across this by accident but she is so cute! and this is funny in a sweet way! cheered me right up! =D

  • Dose Nattou smells like dirty socks??haha!~So Do you like it?

  • No! Natoou is terrible stuff! Nina loves it though.

  • LOL 「パパくさいの」

    ニーナちゃんかわいい~~

I would be smiling even if Nina says i stinks XD I just can't stand her cute voice~

  • What she really meant was 納豆がくさい. Ha ha. Have you eaten nattou? Do you like it?

  • Nina has good taste! I actually like nattou. I know some people who like the taste but not the smell. Oddly, I like both.

I came across your videos because I've started learning Japanese, and seek out supplemental material since I have only my (native) tutor to practice with once a week, so I need to find more. Let me just say, Nina seems like a genius to me! I actually got some legitimate help in learning Japanese from some of these videos featuring a 3/4-year old! Plus she's mega cute!

  • Thanks! I know it's tough to learn a language while just taking a class once a week. I'm glad Nina's vids can help, and good luck finding other stuff. I'm sure there is a lot on-line if you can find it.

  • Cute child. Sweet.

  • おかあさんはにほんじんですか。

  • ええ。そうですよ。

  • LOL I can't eat natto. I love most Japanese food, but I just can't eat natto.

  • Yeah, I'm the same way. I could be macho and make myself eat it, but I just don't enjoy it, so what's the point? There are many other great Japanese foods, so I'll leave the natto eating to Nina and my wife.

  • Yes, but it's good for the health too :) ..

  • i laugh when she said PAPA STINKS..hahaha..

  • I just love her, she is just so precious. I like her short hairand cute faial expressions. Don't you just miss those baby days!?!!

  • Thank you! I hadn't watched this vid in awhile. You forget what they were like so quickly! That's the great part about documenting the early days. Do you often go back and watch your oldest vids of Keira?

  • i agree. yes, makes me reminisce. God bless! Nina ichiban!

  • ニーナは とても 可愛い

  • I can watch this over and over and never get sick of. "Papa stink." lol

Does Nina watch her early videos? Can she recognize that it's her?

  • Ha ha! She didn't really mean to say that "Papa" stinks. She was trying to say that Papa doesn't like natto because "it" stinks. Really! Ha ha.

We watch her old videos from time to time, so she knows it's her. I have shown her some of her baby pictures that she hadn't seen before, though, and she said it was "a baby".

  • wow english and japanese i heard its hard for english speakers to learn japanese though

  • Yeah, it was hard for me. I started learning when I was 32. I think it will be easier for Nina to learn two languages because she is still young.

  • I love all of your videos, and this is especially one of my favorites.

    Nina is just so adorable.

Now, she speaks so much better and it kinda makes me feel sad.

I am happy to see her growing tho!

Thanks for sharing all those lovely videos.

    :o)

  • Thanks! I feel a bit sad about Nina growing up so quickly, too. When I look at these older videos, I realize how quickly she is changing. Oh, well. She is just determined to grow up as quickly as she can...

    Thanks for the comment!

  • aha wow so cute

  • "Papa stinks." HAHA

  • Your li'l girl is such a QT!!

    haha *stinky*

  • ニーナちゃん、本当に可愛すぎます!^^

  • どうも!

  • O_o she undertands both english and japanese?

  • haha! adorable! she's so intelligent! you could tell she felt awkward saying stinky at first. her cheeks are so adorable and those round eyes!

  • Thanks! We certainly can't resist her wiley charms.

  • omg such cute cheeks and eyes! how old is she?

  • Thanks! She's about 2 and a half years old in this video.

  • haha! "papa kusai"

    kawaii!!

Im one of the rare gaijin that loves nattou. I love almost all food though except liver.

  • Hey Jeff from Texas! What part of Texas are you from anyway?

I've got a couple gaijin friends here who like natto. I've been starting to eat it a bit lately, trying to train myself. Don't like liver much, either.

  • 頭すごいいいなぁ(´▽`)

  • ありがとう!

  • i agree with ya on the nattou bit, the smell is ok, just the texture is what gets me <.<

Still try to eat as much as possible just because it is really healthy ;)

    cute vid dude :D

  • I tried natto when I went to Japan last summer...I'm pretty sure it drained a year from my life.

  • People keep trying to convince me to like natto, but I'm comfortable with my hate for the stuff.

  • I think im going to try posting a comment again that didnt work in another

basically, I might try to ease up on learning english a little. I've heard stories where kids speak half of a sentence in one language, then the rest in another.

    Just a thought though

I really enjoy watching your videos and this one made me smile! =]

  • Yeah, we mix English and Japanese all the time at home. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's just the easiest way to communicate.

  • how did you learn japanese?

  • I've been living in Japan for almost 10 years.

  • shes so cute!!

yeah should keep communicating with both languages.

i only communicated with english for a while, and then japanese, but now i can speak about the same....so im trying out for a translator^^
