You have to realize with this car though, or at least an exige the better of them, that it accelerates 0-60 in 4 seconds with 220 bhp. A Lamborghini Gallardo does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with 550 bhp. The Lotus also costs $40,000 compared to the $200,000 Gallardo.

I just now checked out one of these babies today and I must say they are awsome to look at and to be in. Although gettin' in them may be a bit odd but afterward I promise you'll fit like a glove in there. But the problem that recently prevents me from buying on is safety. I'm would be kindda scared now days to take this thing out with other Trucks on the road like Hummers,and such lol. It would give me a chilly feeling. Would u guys recommend this as an everyday driver car? Reply back please :]

no as a daily driver, it has no power steering so going in and out of parking lots is a pain. the seats after about 20 mins start becoming uncomfortable. This is a down right track/fun car.

What do you guys think of people criticising fast cars with big engines because of the environment?

@ddwarwick i can understaand that. on the other hand i can also understand people, who have fun driving a nice car.

but the fast cars are not necesarilly the worst for the environment. for example this Lotus doesnt have a big engine.

I think cars like the Hummer or an old Mustang are really waste for the environment.

positive: BMW for example is very responsible in developing low emission- cars...even fast ones!

this car is truly amazing. and your rx8 may have more horsepower per displacement. but it will never handle as well as this car. it weighs a lot more then an elise, and rotary engines produce much more emissions. where as your rx8 has much more ergonomics then the elise. two different cars though for two different markets, its hard to compare them. this is a sports car whereas an rx8 is a sporty car.

so... 1.8 liters and just 217 with a supercharger.. Last time a checked a Mazda RX-8 has a 1.3 liter engine and produces 238 HP naturally aspired.... and best of all.. it cost less than 40K. pretty car though...

lol. stupidest statement ever. It also has to do with gearing ratios as well as weight. The elise is VERY light, thus, a mere 217 horsepower is wicked quick. I assume you also think that an RX-8 can beat a 120HP motorcycle too, ... considering it's less... right? lol

are you kidding? LOL the rx8 was practically recalled because when owners actually dyno'd them they came out to like 170/180 hp. the rx8's are truly pieces of shit
