@stolflyer yea im with you there! but wasint that landing there at the end a bit to rough on the landing ger? i know its made to take that type of punishment but not every landing.
@fallingwater That was not a smooth landing, but it wouldn't have been uncomfortable. It would have been like hitting a speed bump doing like 20-30mph.
Hello: I'm looking at a 701 from Vermont however, I will use in Florida. Lots of sand and remote beaches. What size tire do you recommend for this use? Thanks. Russ

How much horsepower will the airframe handle?
hammerogod 1 year ago
@hammerogod - I think about 120 HP. It doesn't need much power to get fantastic STOL performance though.

@stolflyer
A 100HP Rotax 912S is more than ennough for this airframe!

At 0:56, isn't the landing a bit hard? Can't have been very comfortable in there, jumping around like that...

@fallingwater - this is sport flying and not riding on a boring commercial jetliner.

@fallingwater The large tires will absorb most of the impact.

How is that possible when the engine alone is $26,000.00?
flanksteak2 2 years ago
@flanksteak2
$26,000 for a 120 HP engine - FALSE! Maybe in yen, but not USD buddy.
joshlikewoah420 1 year ago
@joshlikewoah420 If you want a certified engine that is not at all an improbable amount. Aircraft engines are insanely expensive.
Tjita1 9 months ago
@joshlikewoah420 yea something brand new will cost you around $40,000 USD minimum.

slats not slots..
mystico2 2 years ago
slots are the holes behind the slats so if it has slats it has slots. but you can also have slots without slats. not sure which one this has though.
mrbushpilot 2 years ago
slats retract, slots dont.

i have definitely seen cars go twice that fast (in a speed bump zone!! XD) nice
