@BEAVERHUNT40 All motor drivers have their current/voltage ratings. If your motor is 'larger', you may need a more capable motor driver. You can use the same microcontroller regardless of motor size. See my site/forum for more help.
@alexorfa1 hyperterminal can be used for any communication device that accesses a COM port. If it has USB, you can use hyperterminal for it. The program I used is on the site for downloading.
@ibm322 Servos *are* motors. The difference is that servos have a built in gearbox and motor driver. To use a motor for a robot, you'd have to add your own gearbox and motor driver.
@palmisano Great video and website, can you tell me how long you learnt Electronics? How old are you as I presume this is very Advance project? I love to learn more, I want to make a lego car with motor and photo resistor you put a lazer and the car moves, do you have any schematic for me?
@cristoretornebiblia I started learning engineering in 2000, and built my first robot in 2001. I'm 28 now. If you follow the instructions and code I wrote, even a beginner can build the above robot no problem. Just see the forum on my website for more help.
@palmisano Thanks for your comment buddy, you sure know plenty in those 10 years. Can you tell me is the Arduino DUEMILANOVE good for a beginner like me? I want to connect a servo motor to it via usb and control the motor from my keyboard is that possible? Your website is helpful
@cristoretornebiblia The Arduino is very popular among beginners because it is cheap and common, and a beginner wouldn't know how few features it actually really has =P
The Roboduino and Axon are both easier to use, albeit more expensive. Hey, you get what you pay for =P
@palmisano I watched all your vids, what is your occupation? I take it you work in electronics? At this stage im just learning and only using a breadboard, Im working on a 555 and pwm motor with poteniometer. I spend about 4 hours a week on electronics
@cristoretornebiblia I'm a robotics engineer by profession. A 555 is really old technology, just skip it and go straight to microcontrollers. And I recommend joining the forum on my site. =P
@palmisano Interesting comment, I didnt know 555 was old technology, I was told to learn that first so Im trying to use it on a breadboard. But yea I might skip it as you said and go to microcontrollers. I will see you on the other side in the forum.
PS When you say robotics engineer you design robots that are used in factories? is that Mechatronics
@palmisano What does robitics research for science involve? What university course did you complete for this career? So you advise me to just begin with learning Microcontrollers? I will buy an Arduino Dum model as I learnt that is the good starting point.
Yeap, you recognized it! It was sitting in a box for years, along with a Sabertooth I got but never used. I did the whole thing in like ~3 hours, and only for this video. Back in the box it goes!
I made the video to show how simple it is! It requires a little thinking during programming, so thats why I have tons of free demo software you can download.
add cameraz :D

if i want to make my own where did you bought this toy??
can i make it without this toy (i can make a plastic sheet with 4 wheel)
last question :p can i put modify servos or i really need to put motors?
thank you very much to ask all my question if my science teacher was like you it will be awesome!!

@ibm322 You can use any RC toy. You won't need a motor driver if you use servos. Servos are easier and cheaper to use.
