i understand pants roles because teenage boys cant sing so woman are needed to sing and act like young boys buy this....? please tell me the emotional reason,,,,?looks and sounds like a guy singing like a woman.....honestly i'm not

it's a different instrument than the mezzo voice. similar register, but different timbre. some like it, others don't. as for emotion, for me personally emotion comes more from the singer, not the voice. if a piano piece moves me, it won't be because it's on a steinway vs. a baldwin or yamaha...it'll be the person interpreting the piece.
for me, at least. some people just hate the sound of CTs, or yamahas, or whatever. and more power to ya if that's you.

Magnificent! Have you ever heard such commitment, such a rich, honeyed tone? He really is extraordinary...such passion and none of the sibilant colours at the top of the voice that, for me, ruin the majority of countertenors. And...did you know that he trained as a bass...? Magnificent!

What a stupid comment! There is enough space for everybody, and besides some will be pleased by Daniels and others by this wonderful singers. I'm one of the lucky ones who can enjoy both.

Did I ever imply that I was against having "fresh blood" onstage? On the contrary. And no, I won't "chill out" about this stupid attitude found among "fans" who think that you simply MUST prefer one singer to the other, when in reality, like food, for instance, we can enjoy a myriad of good singers.

What I find rude is the stupid warning given to an artist simply because there is someone else who also sings basically the same repertoire. I don't see this warning as a "figure of speech", so you'll forgive me for not seeing things the same way you do.
