  • I just started my weight loss journey today and I weighed myself with a goal in mind and then found out that to get there I have to lose 50 lbs. Super bummed, but your videos are so inspirational. Thank you for being brave enough to share this.

I hope you're reaching your goal!

  • Just started my own vlog! Hope I can be as successful as you with my weight loss!

  • Great result!

  • Your little girl thingy...lol...I get to start my little girl thingy soon!! HOW EXCITING!

  • you should try the South Beach Diet. just buy the cook book and its great. my mom lost like 20 lbs in the first like 2 weeks! and she ddnt even excersise alot. she would walk about a mile or so a day!

  • hey sweetie - sorry I'm catching up on my videos! Congrats on the weightloss - sorry your back hurts so bad - hope you feel better

  • Can I please have all your cabbage patch dolls?? LOL Good luck

  • I always wanted to ask Rae that too!! LOL

  • Take it one day at a time. Congrats on the WL. :)

  • he girl, things happen but get yourself better and get back at it.

  • Good for you if you have access to a spin class and sauna(dry) use that spinning burns and average of 700 calories per hour. I have to start spinning again now that I have a break from school.

  • hey im sixteen and also am on a diet, i always look forward to spaghetti squash and a lil bit of spaghetti sauce with it,its good and weight watchers lets you eat it, :]

  • Congrats! Keep it going and I hope you feel better. I'm not trying to be mean at all, but did you gain weight from the disc in your back or is it just from a stressful life. That is what happend to me, I'm only 12 and I have depression. I started to eat for comfort and I dont excerise anymore, THANK YOU! I am so motivated now

  • congratulations on losing three pounds!! Sorry you are going thru the back pain my friend and my sisternlaw have both gone thru years of back pain. My friend is finally feeling some relieve, so I hope your treatments are successful in releiving yours too!

  • aaaw... sounds painful.. I hope you feel better soon! :( It sucks when the routine gets interrupted cuz (for me at least), it's so hard to get back into it :( Don't worry though! You will get back into it soon enough :)

  • Keep it up, your doing great! Take it one day at a time, go slow, before you know it you'll reach your goal. God bless you.

  • congrats on the 3 pounds loss

  • Lifting weights might not be the best idea, at least ones that are 10 pounds or more. My sister used to work out a lot and her personal trainer said that you shouldn't start using weight until you lost 17% of your weight, it was 17, or 20. Because all the fat will turn into muscle and it will be harder to lose. I hope you get well though, best of luck.

  • I mean an easy way to lose weight is just taking a walk around the block everyday once or twice.... But i hope you feel better and also if you like fruit try making a banana, cantolope, and raspberry salad. Its Delicious! Good luck.

  • Please take it easy honey until you have lost a bit of weight as you are putting so much pressure on your back it could give out altogether.......Yaaaaaaay on the weight loss well done you :0)

    xxxJoolsxxx

  • You're so inspiring Rae! <3 Good luck hunny!

  • you should ask your doc about swimming, its very low impact and your body will be fully supported, you'd probably be ok to do that if you're brave enough to be out in your swim suit, but to honest you shouldnt care because you're making an effort and thats alot more than most people so. i think you're doing great, keep it up :)

  • YAY I am sooooo happy for you! I need to get m lazy butt on the band wagon. I also wanted to tell you, I made Cowboy Caviar and omg, it's amazing; might be hooked to it lol. Keep those recipes coming, they're yummy :) I'm rooting for you, so keep your head up :)

  • yay!!! i'm so happy for you! 3lbs is awesome girl.... i am sorry about your back though, but girl it'll get better. i started this week with my new eating habits and hopefully next week i will start working out, i have knee problems, so this week im kinda just taking it slow to get them ready to start actually working out. anyways girl keep up with the vids, and your motivation!!! ttyl

  • be strong; you can do it :] i'm on a weight loss right now as well and it's going good. it'll get better eventhough it's hard sometimes or you gain a week.

  • i'm really proud of you for putting this out there. you are doing great, even without being able to work out. love you.

  • You do what you have to do,and soon you'll be back on track.God Bless!!

  • I hope u r doing well...i also had a hernited disc, but i had it removed like 2 years ago. I forgot da medical term for da sergury but i still get alot of pain in my shoulders n lower back. I mean dat i still feel like i still got it...which it sucks...but i hope u r ok...take care :)

  • Two more things, Rae.. I also am going to be journaling my plan and results but I do not know my weight. I have no qualms about saying the number (well maybe a little lol) but I really do not know what it is (I have to weigh at the hospital, so it's up there). I'm going to dive in without numbers and take it from there. I am going to make a video discussing my own triumphs and (current) crises. My struggle with back probs began with an injury at age 14. We can do it, though.

  • You are awesome and Keep up the good work! And to me thats trying

  • Good plan, Rae. Focus on healing and with eating right you will lose some weight and give the herniated disc and hips a rest. Don't be down about it, Rae! It's going to be fine. Eating right WILL help you take off some pounds and give you relief. Woo-woo for the three pounds! I'm pulling for ya! AND I am starting my program on Saturday (we do our grocery shopping on Thursday/have our "special" dinner on Fridays). It's gonna be great to join you guys! (I also can't do much because of back probs)

  • Hey girl!

i`ve been a subbie for a while just never commented.

So sorry to hear about your back and the girly thing ekk! i hate that!

glad to hear about losing and drinking lots of water!

    great job!

i think i`m gonna join yours and Nats weightloss journey!

i`ll post my video responses if you dont mind!

    -Natalie

  • Rae, I'm sorry to hear the injury.

You should try walking, maybe in a fast pace. Walk is always a good workout and it probably wouldn't hurt so bad.

    Congrats on the loss. YAY!

    Wooohooo 2 liters water! Awesome!

One step at a time ;)

    Cheers,

    Mari

  • good stinkin job!!! i'm so proud of you for keeping it up! and all your food looks super good!.. I just started the Wii Fit.. and i'm loving it.. its my in how gym with my treadmill!! woot!.. see ya

  • im so happy for 3 lbs off is awsome! keep it up girl ;)

  • Good job hunny bunny!! I am so happy for you and I hope you get all fixed up soon! Poor darling!

    <3

  • Congrats on the loss! I'm sure you do have some water weight, it always happens with TOM, next week it will be gone. Plus you retain water when you work out because the muscles are holding on to the water while they rebuild. Great start, keep it up!

  • congrats on the weightloss. Sorry to hear about your injury but make sure you dont give up on your eating habbits try and find some low impact exercises youcan do that wont hurt your back Im not an expert I wish I could give you some suggestions. As far as not telling us your starting weight I totally understand but be sure to take a picture of yourself in a bathingsuit or sports bra it will really motivate you to workout even more seeing my true weight made it hit home for me too.

  • Wow - you are so dedicated! :) Good luck with your new program and I hope your back gets better soon :D

  • congrats on the lose dear!!

  • girly thing-- dont worry if you gain a couple of pounds during these days its always normal...I am also trying to lose some weight...you were my inspiration if you can do it I can do it and if I can do it so can you!!!! We can do it!!! my goal is to lose weight but at the same time to learn how to say NO to unhealthy food...

    Good Luck!

  • It's actually ok to snack as long as you keep them healthy. I love carrot sticks, apples, celery, those are all snacks that I really love. you can pop an apple in your purse for if you get a snack craving during the day.

  • wohoo! 3lbs down! thats great, I hope you feel better soon :) and don't worry all we need to hear is ur progress not ur weight :D

  • When you are able to work out again, try resting every 3rd day. When you aren't used to working out you need R&R (rest and restoration) You gotta give your muscles a day to heal. I totally need to start working out, and I think you're getting me motivated with your vlogs. Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon!

  • what a bummer about your back =( hope you feel better soon! woohooo congrats on your weight loss!! 3 lbs is so good. i'm jealous of your water drinking! i need to get better about that.

  • Congradulations!!!!! Nobody but you need to know what you weigh, it's not our business :)

Back pain sucks, I have a herniated disk at L4-L5, it makes exercising really tough.

  • Great job! 3 lbs is awesome!

  • hi rae, I know how it is to have back pain my back is messed up bad. Keep up the great work.

  • Hope your feeling better! Maybe you could add some core workouts like using the balance ball and stuff it might help with the pain. Great job on the 3lbs!!

  • I like the attitude....use the parts of your body that still work...too many people use it as an excuse not to work out.

  • with the snacking thing theres loads of special K products they are really low on calories.

  • It is VERY hard to even start trying to lose weight and you've already done that :) I know it's difficult to remain positive when you have setbacks that prevent exercise but still you're keeping track of your portion sizes and what you're snacking on so that's AWESOME. Keep at it!! Don't look back. And if you fall a little bit one day, just get up and start again. You can do it :)

  • Try swimming my dear, its low impact on your body, and it is a really good workout!!!

  • Great job on 3# sorry about your....do what the Dr. says and you will be back to working out soon! Do what you can! Take care girl~

  • Keep up the great work and don't lose your motivation. Thanks for the gift too btw.

    -Katie

  • :) congrats

  • good for you!! keep it up girl!!

  • Congrats to you! Keep your head up!!!

  • Congrats on the three pounds! Keep going, you were doing so well! I hope your back gets better too.

    ~WOO! FIRST COMMENT!~

    XOXO

    Mutt

  • damn ur determined...i am never able to work out.... =(

  • You seem like you're off to a good start! Weight training is a really effective weight loss tool that is sometimes overlooked - the stronger/bigger your muscles are, the more calories you burn, even when you're just sitting around.

Stay positive and I wish you a complete recovery from this back problem!
