It really is a difficult song to play and sing at the same time. I think you are trying too hard. Loosen your vocal and sound the words in front of the mirror. Perfect at 3:25 but you lost it. But very good. 5 stars.

Thank you. Hopefully I'll not only respond to your question, but to others' as well. Let's see, I learn to play songs by ear and rarely end up looking up the "real chords". I have very poor theory and chord knowledge, so I usually play songs a little wrong, but close enough to pass. No special tuning: intro--D & G (barred); verse--D, G, Am, & C; refrain--Am, F, D, E, A, and then G and D again. Then, repeat for success! Thanks again!

The ones online are "Verse: G, D, Am, C, Am, C (and sneak in an F before the chorus)" and "Chorus: E, A, G, D, G, D, Am, C". Though this video shows that it doesnt really have to be exact.

But I also looked up some videos of cat singing it cuz i wanted to play along. Half a step off! The versions i heard are half a step lower. So G's go to Gb (or F#), so on and so forth. Not sure why he did that. The way its played in the video allows for open chords :).
