@calvinsbulldog I've been a believer for over 38 years and have spent much time in the Word and in seeking God for wisdom and understanding and I can't define Calvinism or reformed theology for you. Why? Because Jesus told us to abide in His Word, not in the opinions of men. Whenever I hear anyone talking about these things, it just says to me that they love the opinion of men more than the Word of God. I know you don't like that, but why isn't the Word enough for you? Who is the authority?

Decisional regeneration is made up term. No one decided to be regenerated. They make a decision to accept the free gift of Salvation by repenting and confessing Jesus is Lord. Our job is to "hear" the Word of God, not try to "adjust" it to "help" God "get the truth across" to people. The Word IS the aurhority and should be treated that way. If something isn't clear, any handling of that issue is "wresting" because God isn't stupid and unable to communicate. Lack of clarity is a "hearer" problem.

If God didn't deem it necessary to use it, why do men think God needs their help? Is that not unbelief and presumption? Why can't Biblical doctrine be taught simply by quoting the Scripture? Decisional regeneration is made up term. No one decided to be regenerated. They make a decision to accept the free gift of Salvation by repenting and confessing Jesus is Lord. Then God does the regeneration. So this is stupid made up dumb prideful argument.. No man can regenerate or reborn himself. Only God can. But he gives us a choice to receive Him.

I don't doubt Lane is a real Christian. But he has no integrity. He loves is Calvinism more than God, God's Word, and more than soul winning.Which makes one wise. This totally negates the great commission.

The Calvinist Folly series is best. I like the speaker Marc Monte. He even compares Calvinism to Islam. It's true Calvin was realy found of Augustine. Augustine was really into Philosphy. Parts of Islam is Philosphy. Mphoment and man who could not read got his ideas about the Christian God from the Gnostic hermits and Egyptian Heresies. The Copts.
Neither would believed God at his Word. Neither trusted the finished work of Christ's Atonement.

(John 17, Ephesians 1) Predestination is in the scriptures. Calvinists do NOT hold Calvin's writings over God any more than you hold Arminius's writings above God. It is not a system of works, it is anti-works righteousness. The works is the evidence of the faith, not how you earn eternal life.

Mat18 is clear how offenses are to be handled as well as the principle to forgive 70x7. We are supposed to be brethren yet so often we bite and devour one another. I agree with some of the doctrine in what they call calvinism.. mainly that only overcomes will be saved because they have been given the faith by grace to believe that Jesus took Sin away out of their lives.. God then manifests that... which is sanctification or Holiness.But to say your a calvinist is like the corinthians saying and being secterian because one was baptised by paul and another apollos.This calvinism thing .I see brings on them a secterian spirit and is not up for debate to them.

Lane has every reason to block you. You are a silly little girl. This video makes it very clear. Calvinists don't place the writings of Calvin over Scripture, or there wouldn't be Calvinistic Baptists or Congregationalists. Calvin was a person who took the Scriptures seriously. It is obvious from your video that you place your own ideas and traditions above Scripture, and you really couldn't care less what Scripture actually says.

If you start accusing Calvinists of putting Calvin before God, then yes we are going to get offended. That simply is not the case. Calvinism bears the name of John Calvin, and histortically that viewpoint became associated with his name. But I am only a Calvinist because the clear teachings of the text of scripture show that position to be true.

I have already said that my loyalty is not to Calvin, but to God's word. The only reason I call myself a Calvinist is because the doctrine of election and predestination I hold to has become associated with his name. The only reason I am a Calvinist is because God's inerrant word teaches it. Jesus taught it long before Calvin even existed. I am a Baptist, so I certainly don't agree with Calvin in all areas of theology.

There was not one shred of fact in that rant. You will not be able to find another form of theology that is more biblically based than that of Calvinism and not b/c of Calvin but b/c it is the theological and doctrinal position taken by CHRIST and all the writers of holy scripture guided by the Holy Spirit. Be sure that Bunyan did not believe one could come to CHRIST in and of themselves. Salvation is of the LORD, all of the LORD HE saves whom HE wills and HE is just and perfect in doing so.

Actually, Danny, when Ibrought up Michael Servetus, I was responding to RealResponse' claim that only Calvinists were considerd heretics of their day.
Michael Servetus was man declared a heretic by Calvinists themselves and he was murdered by them,led by John Calvin himself. Servetus was a heretic in that he denied the trinity, but that does not give any blood bought Christian the right to kill a man over doctrine. Separate, yes, murder no, The Bible says we reject heretics, not kill them.

Have some very good writtings by Calvin about the "anti Christ" in scripture"/ Yet no calvinist would discuss it. They reather talk up election and Predestination.... to death. All I see is them telling people we can not know we R saved and we can't make a decision. Who care about real world today.

Calvinism does not teach salvation by works, but in the Bible it is clear what happens after your saved! Read 1John, James 2:14-26, Hebrews 12:1-13. Matthew 5 is what is supposed to be like. Does praying a prayer get you that way? Jesus said repent and believe! John 14:23 Jesus said, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him".

If you really think this prayer salvation is working out, can you please explain to me why that is? Where does it say that we can pray a prayer and be saved in the bible? Where does it say to ask Jesus in our hearts? I prayed that prayer many times sincerely and nothing happened. But as soon as I heard the true gospel my eyes opened up and God had showed me my sin and I was convicted. I do not trust any one that denies salvation is instantatanious by hearing, beleiving, repenting and confessing. as mentioned 2cor 6:1-2. The whole point of Jesus is that God wants save sinner. How do we think we control the gift of salvation when you say if you pray this prayer you are saved that's controlling. it says we are spiritually dead meaning DEAD. Cannot come to him, it doesn't say asleep it says dead because of sin. We say exactly what Jesus said repent and believe. Did Paul for example decide to turn to Jesus, no. Did any apostle decide to be His disciple, no. Jesus came to them! and then they willingly excepted it. Does that sound nutty or truthful?

Finney was not now or ever a Hertic. Only Calvinst say that.They hated himin his day too.He was respected.Calvinst do not beleive in Revival. And if you knew anything about Finney he did not invent or start a Revival. It had nothing to do with him. It was a work of God Himself. Finney was only a willing servant. I Gringe when John Mc Arthur talks of Finney. Mc Authur is not telling the truth. He did start the rrevival that he was known for. It was God and many saints were praying for years.

But Spurgeon was no Heretic in his day. He just did not have a Doctrine degree.. And Charles Finney was just as respected in His day. But the Hyper Calvinist hated him. then too. 1) U Guys lie right out about Finney and can not prove a single word. You even take a line or Paragraph of something he has written and deliberately misquote him. That is lying.
2) I do not follow men as Calvinist do. I only follow Jesus. Finney was no teacher of mine. I only hate the lies Mark Kielar says about him. He was never considered a Heretic. Only modern Calvinist have woefully maligned him. How can you call yourselves Christian.

I said nothing of Prayer and Finney. I know nothing about it. But even if he did. It would still be from Scripture. There was a mass salvation that day as Acts 2:37-41. Three thousand souls were saved that day.
Guy. You can not love the Word of God and Souls if you make excuses and put barriers blaming a great souling winner. God wants to save sinners.

I dont teach a works salvation and neither do Calvinist. The Gospel is simple, all who will come let them come! Calvinist don't fight that however the theological debate behind who can come is complex but that is not for the person who is being saved that is for the person who is already saved and wants to study deeper. I just dont like it when people misrepresent others whether it be Calvinsist, Catholics or whoever.

I think your not representing these men and their beliefs correctly. The Bible does teach that only the elect will come to God/Christ. Men are unable to come to Jesus and Jesus is the one who teaches that in John 6:44+65 the greek word draw means dragged and it is not an optional thing. So if nobody can come to Christ how is anyone saved. Regeneration, God changes the persons heart, nobody believes were robots and have no free will and the reformed faith does not teach salvation by works.

No, regeneration is instantaniuos when we are saved by hearing believing and recieving Christ by repenting of our sins. (Bornagain) Then we grow up in maturity by walking in his word. Or "remaining in Vine" if you will. This is all part of the regeneration process. Your way, you work towards salvtion which is not biblical. And takes us right back to a system of works.
