  • @alonePhan Thank you for your explanation. ^-^

  • @BusoRockin1000 im not into linguistics though.but according to my rough knowledge mehmed is from turkish language and is known as Mahomat in early modern Europe.and Muhammad is in Arabic or normal english translation from arabic word.

  • I have seen the band twice live: first at the Hamina Tattoo in Finland many years ago, and the in the war museum In Istanbul. One really has to see a live performance to be to appreciate the music and the uniforms.

  • does anybody knows the name of the song they are playing?

  • @habbath Actually there seem to be more than one song they they're playing.

  • @habbath Actually there seem to be more than one song they they're playing. The last one which gets faster at the end is the attack song which was used in wars. The Mehter is the oldest army band and many other countries developed their army bands after they had seen the effect that The Mehter created on the Ottoman soldiers.

  • @CLARKMELUNGEON See Militaris Congratulatio ;)

  • @habbath ceddindeden;))

  • @seqament there are no great religions... except islam... I think that if you were a real muslim you would know that and you wouldn't swear... that's my opinion but I won't jump to conclusions, Allah knows the best...

  • Remember that today wars arent only fhought with weapons. Now the must powerfull weapon is the writing. And i guess must islamic countries fight and support eachother with this power.

Its anoying though when ppl forget about who made it possible for them to live as they do today. If it wasnt for Ottomans i belive that we would be a country under heavy english, american slavery.

Arab countries betrayed ottoman, we managed to stand up against this betrayal.

    irony now they are invaded

  • I'm hungarian we were enemy with ottomans but now turkish and hungarians are friends!! and my boyfriend is from Turkey... :)

    Long live for Turkey! <3

  • I had seen a live mehter performance when I visited istanbul 2 years ago, and was immediately impressed with its resounding bass rhythm, the simple yet powerful melodic chords coming from the horns, the sublime chorals. It transported my mind and soul to an ever blissful state! Forever Thanks to the Turks for contributing the beautiful mehter music to the world!

  • TheYoshikisamaderu japan & Türkey brothers Thenkyou

  • Very interesting. Thanks!

  • hail the ottomans

  • When there will be mehter in Belgrade

  • @mario14678 one day maybe when people on balkan do not relate everything as a reason to fight and stuff...

  • mozhus 123 The Hindustani culture was not so advanced in those days to be followed in any field of art, dressing and cultural rites. Culture in any society is influenced by the ruling elite class. Since all the Sultans of India were Turks so our culture was established by the Turks. However, there has been some contribution by Persian, Arab and local cultures.

  • @hussainfarooqui The Taj Mahal was built by TURKS & I think thats enough by its self...

  • @poyraz100 Brother, The Taj Mahal was actually built by the Moghuls who did live at the time of the turks but were different people as they ruled India and other countries around it. Thank you!

  • @GudMuzlim786 Look, the thing u dont understand is that a Turk is a Turk no matter in where he lived or when he lived. A Turk is a Turk no matter if he spoke italian arab or persian. The Moghuls are Turks....

    Unfortunately we Turks assimilate quickly:((

I didnt know that we ruled india & so on but as I read a couple of books I couldnt believe my fucken eyes. I was shocked, but as we Turks find out our history were going to be more powerful from the inside.

  • @poyraz100 Brother, you could be right?

The Moghuls were actually a mixture of afew including turks, mongols and even persians.

But I actually respect turks alot especially for their bravery and for protecting their religion!

And it is actually the english people who are against turks and arabs just because of their religion.

But Alhamdulillah(praise be to God) I have found out that the mighty turks are strong in keeping their faith!

  • @GudMuzlim786 I strongly erge u 2 read the book "Sons of the Conquerors" written by Hugh Pope. Hugh Pope read Persian and Arabic at Oxford University and speaks Turkish. He has written from 30 countries during 25 years of travels in the Turkic world and broader Middle East, reporting for the Independent, Los Angeles Times, BBC and Reuters.

  • @GudMuzlim786 As I said brother & I'll repeat 10000 more times, the Moghuls are Turks, the Mamluks that were destroyed by the Ottomans were Turks as well. The Ottomans were Turks. Just because the Ottoman rulers married russian, greek, italian girls doesnt make them non-Turk. As I said we Turks assimilate quickly. Also please stay away from wikipedia infomation brother, its all bullshit. Real information is in the BOOKS.

  • @poyraz100 2 things my friend that you made an error in 1st the mamelukes were not "destroyed" by the ottomans, they were absorbed into the empire, selim vavuz allowed them to continue ruling egypt just aslong as they paid an annual tribute to Islambol and 2nd the mamelukes werent just turks there were also circassians, russians, kurds and mongols in their ranks aswell :).

  • @GudMuzlim786 We Turks have a lot of enemies brother & its not easy to be a TURK. The internet is a great place for TURK haters to place false & misleading information about TURKS. I'm proud of all my ancestors no matter what part of the world they were from. I'll learn form their mistakes & b proud with their victories.

    sonsoftheconquerors(.)com

  • @poyraz100 My dear brother, There are people around the world who dislike things and their are also people who like things. But surely our Lord is the Judge of all Judges and he obviously knows best!

May Allah(SWA) protect all of us muslims and save us from the kafirun(disbelieving)!

    Take care!

  • @poyraz100 Taj Mahal buid by turks learn history? The moughals were from Uzbekistan, decendands living in Pakistan and India. Don't you mean turkic?

  • @MrZuzubu I dont think like an ecnebi when I read Turk history. I erge u to think like a Turk as well if youre a TURK of course. I think like a TURK. The arabs speak Arabic and we TURKS speak Türkic. Cahiliğin Allah belasını versin yaa...

  • @poyraz100 bro as far i know taj mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.but we still Love Turks for Conquering Constantinople And to Lead All muslims at one Platform.and last but not least for their Love for Prophet Muhammad Saw.coz at the time of Ottoman empire Hijaz was a center of love.way turk sultan did caretaking at their time no one can do this Mehter Band is the Pride of Muslims.LOVE TURKS

  • @poyraz100Tj mehal was built by mughals

  • @MrAhsanshah When I say Turks I just dont mean citizens of TURKIYE. The Uygurs in East Turkistan are Turks as well. The KazakTurks in Kazakistan, the Tatars inside russia, the Ozbeks of afganistan & Turks of Azerbaijan are all TURKS. Turk history doesnt only consist of the OttomanTurk history. There is many more Turk history in the East. Every time I read my TURK history I get shivers down my spine.History without the TURKS(East West North South) isnt history.

  • W e the Pakistanis, have the blood in our veins with love to brothers and sisters of islam,of to muslims,BUT Turks has special status as they respect our sentiments, and we respect theirs.shahid.

  • In the courts of the Indian Muslim Sultans, there were two official languages. One was Persian and another was Turkish. All the Sultans of Dehli were Turks. The culture which they brought with them is still existent in Pakistan. All the dressings, foods and rites in Pakistan are based on the Turkish culture.

  • @hussainfarooqui and persian and hindustani culture. These two are probably are more apparent in the various diverse Pakistani cultures.

  • Ottoman empire should be back with the lead of Turkey

  • @bojacub True. So we were all brothers no fight, no war no lands..

  • Salam

    great music

  • The modern day marching band can trace it's roots back to the Mehter, and this is coming out from a director of a marching band. Imagine what it would be like on the battlefield during the time of the Ottoman Empire. The day when I see this with my own eyes I'll be blown away. This is brilliant!

  • It looks like the Ottomans are coming. Allahu Akbar

  • first military band

  • moon and star is symbol of islam

  • nope. moon and star is symbol of Turks which came from central asia long before islam. Turks used these symbols after islam also.

  • World's first military band, Mehter. Mozart composed his infamous masterpiece "Alla Turca" aka "Turkish Rondo" aka "Turkish March" by solely imitating the rhythm of this band. During every war, all the way in the back, this is exactly how they performed while the Ottoman soldiers were fighting in the front. Yes, our ancestors fought and died to music, and this is why we, Turks are not afraid of war and say war is like entertainment to us...kick ass. How could one not feel proud of being Turk?

  • Comment removed

  • i am Bosnian... an proud that we fought 500 years for Ottoman empire.. we still fight for its borders!

    Asallamu Alaikum

  • One day, Istanbul will be our capital again Inşallah!

And we will be no Bosnians but Ottomans!

  • @spastic505 How could one not feel proud of being a Turk? I frequently ask myself this question. I don't understand also. If somebody isn't proud and can't appreciate such a History, as the history of the Turks, then what can one appreciate? Nothing.

  • @spastic505 Just want to let you know that I'm proud to be part Turkish, my grand parents on my father's side is 3/4 Turkish, and 1/4 Albanian.
