I have the Pentax K-x and I really like it. Two years into it I am just starting to use the movie mode, but can't seem to figure out how to use it correctly in that the white balance is OFF big time. All my videos are yellow, but my filming has been done only during the evening in the house with incandescent lighting... can anyone help me?

I just recently got this camera and I highly recommend it for the beginner~intermediate photographer. cool...the K-x is supposed to be backwards compatible with old pentax lenses. But i have yet to get it to work with one of my old beaters. The shutter just won't fire off a shot. Any tips?
i hope the price for this drops so it will be affordable for youngsters who are very much interested to invest on the lens and not the body... how sad going photoshoot with my olympus e500 and because of the price of zuiko lens i have to depend on my nikon d3000 with my prefered lens... i hope this pentax will replace my aging olympus e500

hmph, a pretty ugly minus 3 there. spare me. anyway, i wonder about the KX versus the G11. A friend has just given up DSLR for the more compact G11, claiming it will perform just as well as a DSLR (i say low continuous mode and shutter lag notwithstanding), and that IQ will not suffer, especially in low light situations. Is it all about lenses with DSLRs? can the G11 match the KX with 18-55mm lens? Same DOF, HDR, options....etc etc? Thanks.

i read one review that said it didn't give any sort of alert that the AF had readied....no green light....no beep...nothing. is that true? that would seem like an odd omission.
@canadianroot Nothing on the screen itself, but a green hexagon lights in the menu bar at the bottom of the viewfinder to confirm lock. I never found it to miss the place I wanted to focus, so maybe it's so intelligent that it doesn't need it?

@TheSavannahlewis No, the auto focus occurs before you start shooting. Once you are shooting the focus is locked. (Or you can manual-focus.)

you are not buying one camera, but system.. find out how much for example 70-300is for canon costs, or how much any better zoom with IS cost
and then look at DA55-300, DA17-70 or sigma 17-70.. you'll find out

Yes, there is also a 2 beep confirmation, once the autofocus has locked in.
