  • Not Michael English on this video. This young man also sang with Gold City around this time. No micheal in this video

  • lol... omg! they look so old school! wow how times change but love the music and voices!

  • Very coincidental song. Rusty and Sam passed away in 1990 and 1991. Both made it home to heaven, about the same time frame. Both were true blessings on earth.

  • Ken Charlie used to sing this. Wow, I have not heard this in over twenty years. Thank You for posting.

  • Michael sounds like Larnelle Harris...?! Crazy!

I never actually heard that this group existed without Howard and Vestal...kind of neat! I don't think they've put out any CDs from what this group would have recorded...

  • OH MY GOSH, I've never seen any clips of when Michael was with the Goodmans. It don't even sound like him. He sounds good, but just different. Wow!

  • I love Tanya with a passion hotter than the burning sun! She is an amazing singer! Quite a hero of mine!!!!!!! :-) thanks for posting this!!!!!! :-)

  • He sounds very much like Donnie Sumner, JD's nephew.

  • Michael had such a different sound back then!

  • look how young Michael English is

    carrolc

  • Tayna was a good singer I guess, but she was no Vestal.

  • The first time I heard her was in concert in semo. They came out sung four songs Vestal was no where to be seen. Several had got up and left and more were leaving. Then through the side door she came in singing and the place went wild....Tayna, She can't help it. "She was born a Goodman".

  • What do you mean 'was'? She's still alive and singing, isn't she?

And while I agree that Vestal was the better singer, how do you think Tanya would feel if she saw that?

  • so glad to find this thanks to someone who posted link on Michael E's web page.

  • Glad you were able to navigate over from Michael's site:) There are plenty more.

  • Man!! I forgot how awesome michael english was even back then. Thanks so much for posting this!!

  • WOW! Now THIS is a find! I'm so glad you posted it.

  • Michael was with the Singing Samaritans before his first run in the Singing Americans. He left to join the Goodmans, then after they broke up went with a group in Kentucky called Couriers Unlimited (did one lp with them) then went back to the Signing Americans. Then he left the to join the Gaither Vocal Band

  • Thanks for the correction - Samaritans not Ambassadors. I never knew about Couriers Unlimited.

  • is that really michael english?

  • Yes it is. Before singing with the Goodmans, he sang with the Singing Americans (SingAms). I posted a SingAm video titled Welcome To Heaven To Stay with Michael. Note I also posted a different SingAm video titled Welcome To Heaven which Michael is NOT on. Before that, he sang with the Singing Ambassadors.

  • @pawpaw221 He was with the Goodmans for a year or so between tenures with the Singing Americans.
