  • Fools. The fool on the hill is the modern messiah. He alone sees the way things are and the spiritual undertones. Then, with feelings and phonetics to match sings in 1000 voices. A modern David overcoming the goliath of todays spiritual void.

  • what an amazing song this will always be.

  • Forever Alone song :(

  • Lovely...

    I am 62...

  • i dedicate this song to myself, for being a fool and never show my feelings to anybody.

  • @sergiocable i agree....my life in 3 short minutes.

  • @trippinonahole my life is like this too.i also feel like this, but is okay because im proud of being who i am.

  • @sergiocable Stop trying to bask in Paul's reflected genius

  • @CommieCotch im not basking in anything.im just making a connection between my life and this song.im just showing my feelings about how i am,and how my life is.im not copying paul's ideas.and im pretty sure paul wrote this to cheer people who feel like that.im just being honest, have a good day, or night,or whatever.

  • is this about John ?

  • day after day, love turns grey (Pink Floyd)

  • @ellaguru7 in "Brain damage", also by pink Floyd, they talk about "the lunatics are in the grass/head/hall" and he goes on to say when there are too many lunatics in the world, saying "when there's no more room upon the hill" referencing this song again. They really liked this song apparently. :)

  • @IamStoneGrooved Uhhh that's because he's much older than when he recorded this lol. Yes, this is probably sped up, but the fact that he can't sing this as well is only because his voice has become deeper, not cause the song was originally sped up.

  • He was the producer of the Beatles, he mixed all their songs.

George Martin has a much bigger part in creating the sound of the Beatles then people realize. Listen to Piggies, a song of George Harrison. Who did play the piano part and who arranged the cello's/violins. Right, George Martin.

All the string arrangements to all the compositions were done by George Martin. For me he is the fifth Beatle.

  • thumbs up if u have thumbs

  • this is one of my favorite songs. I have the Movie and it is great seeing them being young and so playfful

  • Paul and his friend Alistair Taylor were walking Paul's dog, Martha, on Primrose Hill, when Paul noticed his dog was missing. He turned to look for his dog and saw that a man had appeared on the hill without even making a sound. Before the man had appeared Paul and Alistair were talking to each other of the beautiful view of London and the existence of God. Paul greeted the man, and the man spoke of the view and after a few seconds Paul saw the man had vanished. This was the song inspiration.

  • @VoodatheJuggalo DID HE GET HIS DOG BACK?! <3

  • i love the crescendoing brass during the "nobody ever hears him" parts :)

  • @pianissimo5 I know, right? It's incredible. The WHOLE arrangement of this song is spectacular. But the Orchestral aspect of it- with the brass, winds, and strings are INCREDIBLE. Gotta love The Beatles.

  • i love paul

  • If you ask me, running around, being free, and having fun isn't foolish, it's quite sane!

  • A true masterpiece.

  • I love the Love album version of this song.

  • Everythime I hear this ,

I imagine an Indian sitting on a hill , looking at all the people in a city , who are always buizy and don't take time to enjoy the beatifull things in life.

The fool is a whise man.

    We are the fools.

    Peace and love

  • @rsmaniac100 one love my friend, Amen

  • The fool is really a sage who spends his time meditating on a hill and becoming wise-the song is about how misunderstood people are often the smartest, and choose to alienate themselves.

  • 0 DISLIKES!!!!! KEEP GOING ON!

  • This song never goes away. This song never grows old.

  • i feel like the fool :(

  • Nowhere Man came first....

  • Great song form Paul. And great lyrics too. Just in case anyone didn't get it "And the fool on the hill sees the sun going down and the eyes in his head see the world spinning round". So the fool sees what is really going on. Of course in Shakespear and before, the king always had a "fool" to act totally insane and say all kinds of ridiculous things but underlying all that, the fool was the wisest man in the court.

  • Ditto...

  • Thank you for these high quality songs! The Beatles rock!
