  • thanks bud.

  • i didn't think that the honey stove heats up water that fast. i was really surprised. getting one today so looking forward xd

  • @gianandri1989 Obviously I had the fire well stoked, but they are really good I like the Honey stove, they help to centralise the heat more than an open fire and therefore dries out moisture from the wood quicker I think.

  • Hi mate, what type of knife is that you have in most of your videos, the one with the wooden handle, like for instance in the dozen tinders vid?

  • @mumsy25 It's a puukko style knife that says "Woodsknife" on it. I don't know much more on it unfortunately.

  • This was very helpful. Thank you.

  • I have that kettle! its really great!

  • @boiledbeefandcarrots As he said it comes with the stove.ayou might be able to order it individually from the same company

  • hi

is the windbreak you are using home made?

where can i get some of that stuff?

  • Looks like a very lightweight stove. The windshield that it comes with it doesn't look up to much though. If you want a stove that works in very wind your best bet is the trangia 27.

  • good review. It looks like a good little stove indeed.

  • Nice review. I've been meaning to ask- it that kettle aluminum, or iron?

  • @hellerZauberer It's anodised aluminum. It's called the "Optimus Terra Kettle".

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • @NaturalBushcraft

I was just about to ask about the kettle..

    Great review Ash!!!

  • Great little review and comparison test Ash

  • u guys allwase do great thero reviews loved take care!

  • Another great video. Thanks guys. Long live Spiro.

  • Nice looking stove, but it does not seem well tuned to me. I'd like to see a more efficient blue flame that doesn't carbon everything it touches. Thanks for the review I enjoyed it.

  • @Greatbloke I can reassure you that this stove doesn't blacken anything. My kettle is black on the side and bottom because I also use it on open fires, the carbon & tannin stuck to my kettle has come off with the heat onto the white box stove (hence the black rim).

  • very good review of a nice stove, thanks

    best regards

  • Wonderfull little review Ashley, Great that's made of recycled material. How much would a bottle of meths cost roughly bud?

  • @CiaranRooney125 Well, funnily enough the prices of Meths varies greatly depending on where you go. I've heard stories of it being sold for as much as £5 for a bottle of 500ml. But if you know the right place to get it you can get 2L of Meths for around £3. There is a thread about the different places & prices to get it on our forum. Cheers,

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • i would never pack my meths burner in the kettle for fear of tainting the kettle i use a little plastic tub.

  • @mazadan Hence why you see me put it inside a plastic bag before I put it in my kettle. The little bag didn't come with the stove, but I just found one that fitted.

  • Nice piece of kit and clearly very effective, i might have to get one, or make a popcan stove.

  • nice review, though i much prefer my trangia as this can be loaded up before off out and going on a short walk etc

  • Really good job on this review Ashley.

  • @TheDogDew Thanks mate :)

  • good review on a great little stove - thx for this one!

  • Nice review, looks like a excellent little stove. Thanks for sharing, take care and have a great day.

  • Another very good review! I am glad to see some activity from you folks again! Thank you!

  • great vid and review thnx for sharing

  • Great video/review! I was wondering what kettle you were using in the video, it looks like a GSI kettle but the bail threw me off?

  • @cdipaolo1996 It's the "Optimus Terra Kettle" with the handle removed and replaced with a chain. I would recommend NOT doing the same as me and putting a chain on it. It was just an idea that didn't really pan-out, I'll probably be putting the handle back on when I get time. If you go to the NBC blog there is an old post about this kettle. Cheers,

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • Thanks for the great video's I love watching them.

    Excellent job.

  • @peterbarfoot Thanks bud, means a lot :)

  • Nice one Ash, great white box stove review and good to see the comparisons with other stoves/fuels.

The $1/£1 DIY aluminium meths stoves in the threads on NaturalBushcraft forum are structurally and size-wise, very similar to the white box stove for those out there who want to make something similar themselves.

  • @browntroutfisherman Absolutely, I highly recommend having a go at making one if you fancy it.

  • Well done!

  • cool comparison

    -boyce

  • Excellent Ash.

Always enjoy these stove tests. The Honey stove permutation looked more stable though!

    Sandy

  • you seen the minibull designs stoves? some very innovative ideas going on!

    Great little burner!

    Thanks, Tim

  • Cool vid as always. You're actually making me consider buying or fashoning a stove...

  • Love it. How is it in colder weather?
