@gianandri1989 Obviously I had the fire well stoked, but they are really good I like the Honey stove, they help to centralise the heat more than an open fire and therefore dries out moisture from the wood quicker I think.
Looks like a very lightweight stove. The windshield that it comes with it doesn't look up to much though. If you want a stove that works in very wind your best bet is the trangia 27.
Nice looking stove, but it does not seem well tuned to me. I'd like to see a more efficient blue flame that doesn't carbon everything it touches. Thanks for the review I enjoyed it.
@Greatbloke I can reassure you that this stove doesn't blacken anything. My kettle is black on the side and bottom because I also use it on open fires, the carbon & tannin stuck to my kettle has come off with the heat onto the white box stove (hence the black rim).
@CiaranRooney125 Well, funnily enough the prices of Meths varies greatly depending on where you go. I've heard stories of it being sold for as much as £5 for a bottle of 500ml. But if you know the right place to get it you can get 2L of Meths for around £3. There is a thread about the different places & prices to get it on our forum. Cheers,
@mazadan Hence why you see me put it inside a plastic bag before I put it in my kettle. The little bag didn't come with the stove, but I just found one that fitted.
@cdipaolo1996 It's the "Optimus Terra Kettle" with the handle removed and replaced with a chain. I would recommend NOT doing the same as me and putting a chain on it. It was just an idea that didn't really pan-out, I'll probably be putting the handle back on when I get time. If you go to the NBC blog there is an old post about this kettle. Cheers,
Nice one Ash, great white box stove review and good to see the comparisons with other stoves/fuels.
The $1/£1 DIY aluminium meths stoves in the threads on NaturalBushcraft forum are structurally and size-wise, very similar to the white box stove for those out there who want to make something similar themselves.
thanks bud.

Hi mate, what type of knife is that you have in most of your videos, the one with the wooden handle, like for instance in the dozen tinders vid?
mumsy25 2 months ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@mumsy25 It's a puukko style knife that says "Woodsknife" on it. I don't know much more on it unfortunately.

Wonderfull little review Ashley, Great that's made of recycled material. How much would a bottle of meths cost roughly bud?

i would never pack my meths burner in the kettle for fear of tainting the kettle i use a little plastic tub.
