  • I have little patience for this type of tool crap, (and when not on a comp I cant do this unless I carry 2 mp3 players) but this sync works amazingly well!

  • Is this picture changing colors? The music is making it seem that way.

  • @hackskillz1 It is changing colors

  • For you idiots arguing over what Tools music is about head straight to your nearest hippy and pick you up some psychedelics. Otherwise you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. The album art shoud've been your first clue. FUCK!!!

  • @toneage7 thank you god, someone finally said it. 4 hits of 'cid and up, then all this will make a little more sense. especially lateralus. spiral out.

  • @MaliceMIzery153 Yeaaa buddy!!! Anything over three hits and you're in there. Sounds like a completely different album with it. Nothing has blown my mind more that listening to Lateralus all the way through while tripping. I'm a sound engineer and those listening experiences have increased my knowledge a thousand percent.

  • I like using Tool's Albums as a tool during meditation practices before actually moving in to meditation. Good background music and It's very helpful with bringing out the peacefulness I desire. I no longer define myself as anything other than myself. :) have a good day, all!

  • @jtmccloud1 It also helps that it's cathartic. They apply a lot of techniques to their music that most people don't realize

  • There's no point in arguing over a religion or what someone believes in because they have the right to believe in whatever they want wether its right or wrong. as far as music goes its the greatest invention by man and as Cunfucius said "Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without"

  • or an anurism idk how to spell anurism so if spelt it wrong dont be a spelling nazi

  • This song just makes me wanna fry my brains..

  • lol at people arguing

  • @Tyrkul LOL!!! xD

  • for everyone who thinks Maynard is against religion should get slapped, he's against the fact that no one questions it.

  • @TreverUndeadXpdX sir i do have to agree that is the hole basis of 10000 days is hte question of faith in religion right in two speaks about it same with jambi and wing of marie parts1 and 2

  • First off I'm Catholic and fuckin' love Tool. Second off, to sort of more precisely translate it:

VNA INFINITAS ABOMINATIO NASCITVR AVTVMNO HIC EST TVVM TEMPTAMEN QVOD TEMPTAT TVA POTENTIA VIGINTI TRES GRADVS AD SVMMAM POSTESTATEM: One infinity, the abomination is born in autumn, here is you temptation which tempts thine powers/potencies, twenty three steps to the summit [of] power.

  • Amazing. Not too sure why everyone is arguing, but thanks for posting this :)

  • Una Infinitas

    Abominatio Nascitur Autumno

Hic est tuum temptamen quod temptat tua potentia

Viginti tres gradus ad summam potestatem

    [Translated:]

    One infinity

    The horror begins in autumn

This is your trial, which tries your (power, might, ability; efficacy, potency)

Twenty three steps to total power.

  • kind of reminds me of pink floyd

  • @ishouldplayzelda i agree, tool definitely has that psychedelic element to their music, much like pink floyd does. both tool and pink floyd happen to be my favorite bands, and i've found that their musical approaches are very alike, as are their philosophical lyrics. both can make me feel high while completely sober, or at the very least, in a relaxed, peaceful trance. and when high....all i can say is HOLY FUCKING SHIT. both bands are mind-blowing with or without drugs :DD

  • Fuck the catholic shit. I got to a catholic school and i don't care, this music is a masterpiece. It takes skill time and effort to do this, all together with each guys ability to make music as deep as such. Think about how skilled these guys are.

Shut up and feel this song, cause you don't just listen. That's the beauty of Tool.

  • ATTENTION Y'ALL. Please shut up and listen to the song.

  • Tool are capable of pulling something off like this. not every artist are witty or as creative and intelligent like them.

    xVictimOfADownx1

The usa was built on Mason morals, which have all religions melted together in pagan sync, not Christian. Even the Treaty of Tipoli states we are not a christian nation'. and I like the sound of alot of music not just for lyrics, Beethoven and mozart have no words, and I like them. And who are you to say there is no logic to being Christ like and in accordance to Love? Logic stems from Logos, which is word. And the Bible is the first printed the largest in copy alot of words

  • That sync didn't work. A lot oftheology bashing here, as a Christian I can say that this sync does not shed light on anything but desperation. I do like the 10,000 days album whether or not Maynard found salvation. It is possible for him to find Christ through loss, that is how a lot of people see light, realizing what true love they took for granted, and he may not necissarily boast so yet.

  • @Boltphotography god don't judge music based on lyrics, if you judge music based on lyrics you don't truly like music, it sounds like you like music because you like the relateable lyrics about aspects of your illogical religion, btw did you know that only 38% of britain doens't believe in religion they have a national church? it's just because the u.s.a was built on christian morals

  • @xVictimOfADownx1 Agreed. I am a christian, and because of maynards anti christian lyrics, i was about to turn away from tool. But now i just ignore those lyrics.

  • @supercj8899 then you miss the complete feeling, the ideas tie in with the music

  • @andnowyourott What the hell are you talking about? Athiest lyrics don't put the meaning into music. Lyrics are words, they mean nothing.

  • @supercj8899 If lyrics = words and words = no meaning...

How are you understanding any of the comments on this page?

  • @supercj8899

Your religion should not " turn" you from something that you enjoy. I know a couple of jesus people and they listen to Behemoth and other death metal bands and also stuff like this. RELIGION IS WAR!!!

  • Wasn't his mom or ex-wife or something like that named Judith????

  • in an interview maynard even said that these 3 tracks are ment to be synced together

  • great song, i love every tool and apc song.

  • Btw, this is 10,000 Days, not Wings for Marie

  • @Iawyn 10,000 Days *(Wings Part 2)*

They are both part of Wings for Marie, the title 10,000 Days was probably given to differentiate the two tracks without just saying, this is part 1 and this is part 2.

  • ...

  • .....But its a great song, No question.

  • both songs have the same ending and are in the same key, just as most of their songs are...the triplets in Wings for Marie though do not continuously sychronize with the drums, and when it modulates to the B chord in Wings it does not harmonize with 10,000 days. its a noble effort to look for something significant, but its just a 2 part song that is a tearfully touching tribute to his mother.

  • Its just to be good to be a coincedence

  • One thing I admire about Tool is how Maynard, through his lyrics, seems to have found God, or at least come to peace/terms with himself. I personally think he found God, but that's left up to the individual to decide. What you can't deny is how his lyrics used to be very hateful towards anything religious, but now he respects it.

I think a lot of that had to do with his mother, but I don't know the man personally, so don't take my word for it!

  • @foamingxpanda

Why when people "find God" they never seem to share any decent directions to his location? And why is the omnipotent fucker hiding so well?

  • @Valstein0 because "God" is inside of you. there's no concrete definition of who or what "God is,,,it's totally subjective, but people tend to share the same feelings when they say they've found him (or her).

  • @Valstein0 Someone else can't find god for you only put you on the correct path.

  • @althoge

Is that path to the left or right of the path to the Easter Bunny?

  • @Valstein0 I don't believe in the Easter bunny. Open your eyes and question, don't believe everything your told

  • @althoge

Everything I'm told? You mean like that a god exists?

  • @foamingxpanda Sorry to say, but you're a ways off. Maynard is quite the outwards Atheist.

  • no sync here. anyone who thinks this is an intended sync, is just as foolish as some theist looking for miracles, and jesus' face in an oil slick...

  • do you dumb fucks really think all this is an accident ???? how bout you try and figure out the other tool albums bfore you burn your braincells with this one ok children

  • this is amazing....especially towards the end....simply amazing. "You who prayed for me so what have i done.... *closes eyes....my goodness that is beautiful

  • This is legitimate... the "song" is intended to be a tribute to Maynard's mother, Judith Marie Keenan who died during the writing of the album. The whole length is 11:13. Judith died in November (11), and was originally paralyzed when Maynard was 11.

  • ties in to Jimmy then too. 1 and 1 are 1, 11 so glow child glow i'm heading back home.

  • Its kind of odd beacuse 2 years prior to making this Maynard cursed his own mother in the song "Judith" by APC. Perhaps some sort of conversion took place? Even the lyrics from other songs like Jambi and this song suggest so. IDK.

  • FAIL. Judith is not about Maynard cursing his mom but pointing out her unconditional faith despite what she had to go through ("You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never ever choose to be"). He was cursing god ("Fuck your god") if anyone, certainly not his mother for whom his love is shown in much of his efforts.

  • @TreverUndeadXpdX you're an idiot. you told me I fail and then went on to say exactly what I explained... look at you go. digging up old comments. swinging your 5 inch ego around, stating the obvious like you were the first... par for the course here on good old youtube.

  • Comment removed

  • @TreverUndeadXpdX says the guy with a shit ton of black ops videos on his channel... Well, if video games are basis for.. wait, what are we going for here? wait... here I am arguing with a troll who gets mad about Tool posts...

  • Comment removed

  • @sativa850 yea more or less saying how could you worship a god that would let/do this to you even though you were faithfull ... (i believe it was a stroke)

  • @sativa850 Even so, he's cursing "your God" and not "God" in general.

not making an conclusions about your beliefs. :P

  • @NIN99Koala would that not be more so saying to fuck your god, as in his mothers, who have unwavering belief in her god even tho her god hurt her so much..as in its not his god...

  • The sync sounds atrocious because the levels are out of balance and it is not mastered as a single song, but rather three separate songs layered on top of one another.

As far as the validity of these claims go, this type of trickery is right up Tool's alley, but I'm not so sure if this is what they intended.

  • I am long time fan; this is bullshit.

  • how so

  • The synch once pt. 1 begins is absolutely atrocious.

Only someone really wanting to hear something preconceived would take this seriously.

There's enough brilliance in Tool's music that they don't need to orchestrate absurd nonsense such as "If you play this with that and add their times you get this which is the meaning of life, blah, blah, blah".

Sure, there are secrets in life. No, they are not contained in Tool songs.

  • I must say... the "Your way home" party lining up pretty well with "Asisco"(not sure of the spelling, if i remember correctly its latin for ascent, as in the spirit ascending to heaven or passing on to whatever form of afterlife).... kind of neat.

then again i have been up for nearly 24 hours straight...

  • ugh... yep. Meant to say Your Way Home part... not party. I need sleep.

  • Opened this video.. and kids arguing about DMT.. let keep our comments to ourselves

  • Comment removed

  • DMT is stupid

  • dont talk unless you have done it

  • to mr satan, my buddy seen them live and said they do these two together and run it into 10,000 days(wings pt2)

pretty fuckin sweet sync if you ask me

  • I think one of the best times to listen to tool is at night.... climb onto your roof, get some noise canceling headphones, and just stare at the stars as the hours go by.

  • Tool is soooooooooo creepy, but it's a good type of creepy :P

I looove themm, but i can't listen to them at night :O

i start to see things and hear things :P

    Tool foreveeerr !

  • wow.. why so angry

tylerasutclifferul didnt evin say any thing mean calm down buddy

  • 'pralineanddick' was using my account when that message was posted, should you desire to sooth anyone's anger make it his.

  • angry at him self.. strange.. lol

  • ?? another person used my account, that does not constitute being angry at myself stop pretending to be clever, especially after saying something as dumb as 'calm down buddy', you murky hamster dick dribble.

  • whats so bad bout saying calm down buddy?

and i kinda half read it i confused to profiles.. so my bad..and i did mean the guy that used ur acount being angry at him self.. but still my mistake.. its ok

    no need for angrynes

  • Ok fair enough, agreed lets end here.

    btw: anger not angryness.

  • i don't see how this should fit together at the same time...

  • All four members of Tool are insanely talented, but if Danny Carey wasn't in the band, they'd find someone else. Same with Justin and Adam, but you can't possibly tell me that Tool could happen without Maynard.

  • The bassist was successfully replaced but I refuse to believe Danny and Adam could be. How dare you.

  • I don't think so but I do think you should stop smoking all that crack - it's disrupting your correct perceptions

  • i htink im starting to get viginiti tres but can anyone tell me about lipan conjuring? I know tool does everything on purpose

  • Mantra was just Maynard squeezing a cat.

    Some things just sound cool.

  • I believe lipan conjuring says something like TOOL IS COOL or something like that no kiding XD XD XD

  • where

  • listen to viginti tres alone turned up on your heqdphones, could that be sped up morse code beeps at the end? just a theory

  • The album cover art is 3 faces that form 1 face. Wings For Marie is 3 separate tracks that form 1 complete track.

Cryptic hints such as song titles like Lost Keys, Right In Two and the lyric in the song Rosetta Stoned: "A message of hope for those who choose to listen"

this is a secret song. If you dont think that what they have done to their music to shape it into a music illousion is amazing then mabey tool isnt for you

  • ok all you guys are saying why 23 and how this is special. vigniti tres means 23 which is the numer of sycronicity. you are supposed to play 10000 days and vigniti tres at the same time then wings pt. 1 when vigniti tres ends. this is supposed to be synced. even on the TOOL website it says so. take a look at this in the next comment

  • my computer is way off, it says my 10,000 Days is 11:14 xD

  • this is audible insanity

  • Plus: Playing live, Tool always played the songs seperatley, not synced...

  • Makes no sense to me... 11:12=23

I don't think any of this is meant to be synced.

We're not talking about Neurosis here, do we?

  • 5:10-6:38 is my favorite

  • Negative Ions should start 23 seconds into Viginti Tres...they flow perfect...this is the wrong combination yet again

  • can you make a vid of this !?!

  • I don´t think Viginti tres means something special. There are lots of tracks from Tool just with some strange noices like Mantra and stuff. You guys want to find the "special" or the "myth" in here. But this is just because you like the belief. In fact this sounds just crazy and ruins the origin songs.

  • So if we would put this track as 'background' of the Wings for Marie part I and II we would get a new song?

Because then two elements become one?

    But why the 23?

  • Can someone confirm that they really did this on purpose?

Cause it makes a lot of sense if they in fact did.

The length of 10,000 Days (Wings Part II)is 11:12. 11+12=13. Viginti Tres means 23 in latin. It is three songs in one, which also makes sense since Maynard always refers to the two elements becoming one (Schism, Jambi etc.)

Tool is not music, its art. Fucking incredible.

  • Well actually your statement makes no sense because music is art.

  • No dude I'm just a regular guy. You're a retard.

  • @lekotar ....who you talking to? the video

  • lol

  • Maths fail.

  • Music IS art, but I get what you're saying :P

  • MO problem, check out mine and the synopsis. ;)

  • This song doesn't sound very good because he cut out the intro to Wings for Marie, but left the intro for Viginiti Tres. Wich is why it doesn't line up.

  • well its a nice idea. but for me, it just sounds bad. i think tool would have made it much more pefect sounding if it were intentional...but maybe thats just me ;)

  • They are meant to line up, the two songs become one new song.

  • if you think its meant to become a new song, then please show me a version which does line up ;)

dont get me wrong, i love the idea, but all the versions i heared sounded bad...

  • It was meant to. Viginti tres means 23 which is the number of synchronisity(sp) Anyways this edit was perfect but it was meant to.

  • wings for marie pt 1 and intension works kinda too

  • This isn't a real synch, Ill show you a real synch,I'll put an end to the debates once and for all, get a multi track editing system, lay lost keys and rossetta next to each other, synch wings2 at the start of keys, put anouther wings2 in synch with the end of rossetta, wings2 will blanket over itself, Jambi fits right in there, get two more jambis put them at either end of keys and rossetta just like wings2, put wings1 at either end of that middle jambi,...have a lisen, thats spiraling out!

  • I don't get it, if you do that and put it on here then send me a message I wanna hear that.

  • He's making fun of people who do multiple syncs and try to find hidden patterns in Tool albums.

  • you dont have that on youtube? why dont you upload yout synch

  • Sounds very intriguing... if you'd be so kind and upload it here I'd love to hear it!

  • how is all this a hidden track? it doesn't sound right at all. quit fucking spoiling tool.

  • Maynard is a damn good singer but it's true so many people forget the rest of the band. Adam Jones is one of the most creative guitar players in music history. Like everyone else said, Danny is an amazing drummer and last but not least Justin's bass is outstanding, and a lot more powerful and worth listening to than most bands bass that just holds the beat

  • personally i think danny carey is the one who deserves a gigantic blow job...dude is a genius. not to mention a reality-bendingly good drummer

  • Huzzah. And I believe I am the person for the job! lol

  • @aquinastom To be honest if any TOOL member came up to any TOOL fan with their dick out I'm sure we'd all oblige.

  • @aquinastom maybe you can give him that gigantic blow job

  • maynard is like layne from aic he had a reason to be singing is y he was so great. not everyone has a reason for the things they do he actually had a porpose and i would so blow off maynard and imma guy...

  • no shit. maynards a good singer, great singer, but everyone wants to get on they're knees and please him orally it seams. fuck, the whole band pleases us. quit idolizing the singer. how cliche.

  • Yeah, dude your right; because the last time I checked it was tool, not maynard's band. I kinda feel bad for the other members of tool because people are so foced on the singer they forget about the other important members. Cliche and annoying.

I thougth I was the only one who thought that.

  • Fuck u bunch of bithces, Maynard owns

  • I agree . . . what I meant by that was:

There are more than one person in tool. I was annoyed when people only focus on Maynard and mostly ignore the rest of the band. Each member is equally important.

    My grammar sucks today!

    i dun b gud @ eglish.

  • as far as i know the songs are composed by Adam

  • From what I've heard, each member composes riffs for their perspective instruments, i.e. Cerry:dums, Maynard:vocals, Jones: guitar, Chancelloer:bass. 10,000 Days credits the BAND not one person for composing. IDK No one knows anything about those guys, which adds to the appeal I guess. Jesus, himself could have composed a song or two!lol The stuff you hear about tool ranges from strange, stupid, funny, true, sad, obvious and just plane wrong.

You could be right, I have no Idea.

  • what i was say is that ive HEARD Adam composes the main ideia of the songs, im pretty sure carey is responsible for the genius drums in tool

if this is not true, i dont care too

i just agree with the chocolatman when he says about the singer getting all the credits and stuff :)

    take care!

  • ahahaha

    I'm sorry.

  • they write as a band. as simple as that.

  • no , he does not

  • I will not allow you to speak such blasphemy, cretin

  • yeah, of course..

  • dude, the only way this would be more awesome is if someone took this recording, played it backwards and it said something!

  • It's a tribute to the passing of Maynard's mother.

  • They have one of those things on right in two.

It says, listen to your parents go to school or some shit.

  • Intension, not right in two.

  • I really wonder how complicated and sefisticated maynard's brain...

He is the only guy in the world who would think about all this things... He is a fucking genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He managed to express exactly what he wants in such perfect ways... AMAZING!!!!

  • It's not just Maynard, it's the entire band. They all contribute ideas.

  • Yeah, it sucks when you're in a band and none of your compositions or anything like that gets recognition or appreciation because everyone thinks it's all the vocalist haha

  • i would bet a million dollars that was intentional.

  • tool synced these songs on purpose for a memorial for the singers mom dying.

  • Tool kicks ass

  • Tool use very old, very complex and very hard math to make some of their songs, it's possible that these songs come into the same calculus as the other two... I wonder, never know with them... :\

    ~FEARTTX

  • lol wat

  • the first time i heard the true sync part (that starts at the 8:22 mark on this video) my mouth dropped. best 14 seconds ever!!

  • Hey, try playing Lepan wings 1 and 2 all at the same time, lepan stops when wings 1 gets going, all the while, its in beat with wings two,oh and theres more alot of tenthousand days synchs up, try, the pot with right in two, theres more still, but I haven't proved it yet.

  • it seems only some parts actually sync well... probably because wings 1 and 2 are supposed to be looked at as 'one' song, just split up on the CD... so its not like their melody is any different.... just coincidence in my opinion.

But, i do believe in the fibonacci sequence in the song lateralus :)

  • Ok, from the perspective of the band, i think they just made the tracks (wings 1 and 2) just like any other song. their original intent probably wasn't to make a "hidden" track, but just to make MUSIC. therefore, we can probably throw out that ending (the syncing of wings 1 and 2 together). Now, if they wanted to create a "hidden" track, viginti tres would probably be much LONGER, or perhaps better organized.

*i think you sync in wings 1 and 2 together just because viginti tres is too short.*

  • it's suppose to be 3 songs together.

    Viginti Tres (5:01) + Wings Part 1 (6:10)

    over

    wings part 2 (11:11)

  • where can i get an mp3 for this? preferrably free??

  • only tool would think of doing something like this. GENIUS!

my god, i gotta do something like this with my band when record another CD

  • this is just great, and tool are greys.

  • for people still confused play viginti 23 seconds after 10,000 days starts and play wings for marie 5:01.3 after 10,000 days starts. at the end listen for maynard to say he lived a lie.

  • the synchronicity beginning particularly at 8:25 -ish is simply amazing. there was definitely sort of planning there, rhythms, vocals, and instrumentations all line up.

    very cool

  • THEY'RE JUST MUSICIANS....just REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD ONES. they aren't some group of tricksters out to create an album with "hidden messages". they got shit to say and they say it. other than that, this is still pretty cool
