This song has meant a lot to me. I hear it as a prayer to a God that I want desperately to believe in, but the whole thing is set in the context of it being a terrible lie. It's a struggle I've dealt with for years and it is very comforting to hear it put into words with such emotion.

I have been able to relate to this song better than any other song I can think of and am very happy that I am no longer in that state of mind. I crowd surfed during this song in Sydney, Australia in 2005. Still hasn't been topped in terms of personal epic moments. During the same gig I carried an unconscious girl from the mosh pit to the ambulance resuscitation station and was sought out and thanked by her boyfriend after the show. Unbelievable night; I felt like the king of the world. Then I went to a bar afterward and spilled a beer on my crotch which brought me back down to Earth. One of the most amazing nights of my life.
