@rh110 In indian classical music, usually before singing the main composition with the lyrics, it is usual to describe the Scale in detail. The Scale is descibed to bring out the "colour" or mood of that particular scale. And this is sung without lyrics, using sounds that fit in, but which touches the notes of that scale. Here the scale is "Hamsadhwani", and the notes are Sa-Re-Ga-Pa-Ni-Sa (CDEGBC on keyboard), and he sings the ntes in ascending and descending order, colouring the scale.
