If you are willing stand up for open government/free information/free internet/lulz/freedom for citizens in general then you can call yourself Anonymous. There are no official figureheads, spokesmen or "VIPs". There is no official group, headquarters, and little to no connection between them. You don't join, you proclaim yourself Anonymous.
