Wow this seems hard to learn. I remember things short term then forget if not used regularly. I know a little Spanish, but would LOVE to learn Amharic, Arabic and Chinese.

well, as ethiopian (right now live in israel) i can say that reading Amharic is very difficult... i cant only speak the language but cant read anything..

@Phonxer you can read amharic is you study and memorize the syllables (The Ha Hu Matrix) You need to get in your head the 36 or so first column letters, the rest are all extensions of those.

lol i'm starting to forget my own language cause i'm surrounded with everyone BUT habishas. I can listen but its getting hard to make sentences as easily as i used to. The worst part about Amharic is NO one else in the world speaks it. But i guess thats why i also like it cause its exclusive.

Thank you for posting these vidoes, My husband is from Addis Ababa and Im trying to learn Amharic, I think it's a BEAUTIFULL language and definately want my children to speak at least English and Amaharic ( and later Arabic )

To an English speaker, it would be. Chinese is a relatively isolating language, like English, for all the problems that its tonal phonology gives to someone who is new to such languages. Amharic is Semitic-not only less isolating, but a grammar that works in a radically different way than an Indo-European one.
