The original Eurythmics version of this song doesn't sound like Evil Ways at all. It's very, very poppy. This version pretty true to it, but the instrumentation is totally different, so I believe that any similarity is completely coincidental.

The original Eurythmics version? The song was recorded by Sam & Dave in 1968. I dare say the Fabulous Thunderbirds were influenced by that version, rather than the Eurythmics one.
