Watched the last two matches of the DVD tonight. Fucking amazing. Loved McGuinness vs Danielson. Thank you for recommending this Slayer, you've made my weekend.
This was the first ROH show I've ever seen. I was blown away. Awesome. Especially the last two matches. My only critique is that they didn't do a very good job smartening up newbies like me to the storylines. I really didn't know what was going on with the undercard matches, but I still thought they were pretty good.
keith mitchell is his name and he is a fucking moron. Thing that gets me is that I used to love WCW direction, but TNA's is horrible, he really should be fired.
i agree. if danielson doesnt take the title off mcguiness when he finally loses it i would be surprised. but i am one of the ones who likes mcguiness almost as much as i do danielson so it doesnt have to be too soon.
They had so much heat on McGuinness, it was insane. They have to keep the Belt on McGuinness until their Dayton show on April 24th...So I can see Danielson take it from them.
for any of you who have never been to an roh show go. theres nothing better than watching all the rohbots heart sink and one one single tear roll down their cheek as mcguiness gets another win.
If this would have been live instead of taped Danielson vs McGuinness could have been a potential 5 star match. Because if I had not known the results prior to actually seeing the show I would have sworn that Danielson was going to beat Nigel. I also gave it ****3/4
And I gave the I Quit match ****1/2. It looked like someone was going to get killed out there.
Maybe he has been watching too much of Raw, where the average match literally does go beyond few minutes? I am sure he found Michaels-Cena too long and boring as well.
By the way, I am digging on the new face-heel dynamic in the ROH announcing booth, something of which, I wish was still part of the wrestling business.
I find it interesting Aries-Jacobs had a I Quit Match in a semi-main-event of a January PPV, when it is roughly around the 10 year anniversary of the I Quit Match that the Rock-Mankind had, which was also a semi-main-event of a January PPV.
Personally, I really enjoyed Claudio Castagnoli vs. Silas Young vs. Alex Payne vs. Sami Callahan, to the point more than most. I would give it *** 1/4
Watching that main event again I 100% agree that was just incredibly awesome. Remember how I said it lacked the epicness? Watching it again with no one around and just taking all in ****3/4 stars. Just wow a must see.
I thought it was a good show as well. It's the first ROH PPV I've ordered since the first one and was quite happy with the purchase. The show didn't flow that great to me because guys would just be in the ring after interviews or videos but other than that I have no complaints.
My favorite match was Jimmy Jacobs vs. Austin Aries. Classic, old-school blood bath.
MsChif got stretched like crazy which was awesome.
Nigel vs. Danielson was off the charts. I still don't like Nigel.
Great review brother. ROH has this show available for $10 on their site, and I definitely think it's worth it after watching your review.

Thats the only gripe i have against ROH is the production. The wrestling is great but the production throws me off

the only time I really seen WWE do the overhead crane shot is during ladder matches. Should be used more often

yea those overhesd shots are sweet. Nigel is hilarious to me on commentary and it was also so funny when the fans chanted hey for every Claduio move

I actually don't have a problem with Nigel. I hate him as a face though, he's dull and boring, but he's awesome as a heel.
wwetnasux 3 years ago 3
o i love nigel as the cocky arrogant avant-garde heel. every time mcguiness successfully defends the title and the fans cry, an angel gets a lariat.

Ace got released from WWE WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY back in February.
Cuda123087 3 years ago
Then quite frankly, you have no attention span whatsoever. Because only three matches that aired were longer than 10 minutes.

Production quality has certainly gotten better since ROH has started on PPV, however, sound quality still sounds notably rough.
