he isn't actually playing the song. he's playing the midi file in Synthesia. You can tell cause his score and multiplier aren't going up in the bottom left. Synthesia separates music into left hand and right hand by colour coding it as you notice this is all blue. so its just a downloaded midi. About as impressive as hitting play on iTunes.
