Who else could nail this impromptu song like Bruce and the band? I only wish the damn e-mail signature could and will be smaller in the future. Dude, your website would be better appreciated if it was a hell of a lot smaller and delegated to the bottom right hand portion of the screen. I'd actually go to the site if it was not so obvious that you're trying to cash-in on some good video. (Just a suggestion). It pisses people off to have your site in the way of some good music.
Jeff - Throughout the tour, Bruce would take a couple minutes to collect signs from the first two rows, then sort through them all and pick one. Earlier the same week as this Hartford show, up in Boston, he did "I Wanna Be Sedated." It was pretty awesome.
Yeah - what I was actually asking was not how the sign procedure works (brought several signs to a few shows myself but never got close enough), but how they play those songs with nothing more than a brief huddle to discuss it.
Oh, ok. Well, they get dozens of requests and Bruce picks which one they'll play, so my guess is he picks one he's fairly confident they'll all know. Plus some chord structures are fairly straightforward - it's probably not much different than jazz improv.
@JeffRotull43 Some songs they know. But most of the time they're just that good.
Bruce has a monitor with lyrics. They have a computer (specifically, a MacBook Pro) with every pop song lyric ever written available to scroll on the monitor.
The troggs!!!!

Was it Charlie's job to get that solo at the end and Bruce had to do it w/ vocals? Too funny. How great is this???? Lucky Hartford!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
downatthereservoir 2 years ago 4
Sounds like Clarance tried to save it with the whistle, but I agree, that was Charlie's part.

But it would have been cooler if he burned his guitar like hendrix did!!
