I like seein people like him. Makin a lawn mower mean as hell I can tell he takes pride in what he does or that thing wouldn't exist.. But badass video and puller man!!!!
It is in Little Meadows, Pa. Exit 66 off Rte. 17, go right off exit, go to 2nd lite turn left, track is about 7 1/2 miles on left behind township cabin bar/ restaurant.
yes. the hydro transmission and rear end are original stock equipment. The engine is a 1.3 litre suzuki engine out of a suzuki sidekick. This tractor has been in service for 5 or 6 years without a break down, just general maintenance
I am looking at building a puller ive got a JD 212 mower. I dont know if I want to modify the kohler or install another engine. How did you connect the motor to the trans.
I had to make an adapter to link the engine to the hydrostat with a drive shaft. The 212 is standard shift. I don't recoment using high power engines to the standard shift tractors. The clutch would never stand it
You really need the hydrostat transmission. I don't think you could fix up a clutch that would take the abuse and still make it fit under the hood. even a hydrostat has an RPM limit of 6500. Any faster and it will foam the hydro fluid and blow the transmission
yes, they can be found at a junk yard. You will have to manufacture some parts yourself like an adapter to go from the engine to the transmission. It can be time consuming.

What do you think about the jd110 as a puller? I'm buying one to fix up tomorrow

ok, well i also have a 1995 425 with the 20hp water cooled kawasaki...it has the hydro. Oh, how long will a hydro last pulling?
PITVIPERBEN2008 2 years ago
I've had the same transmission now for 5 years. Just remember that you need to keep the engine RPM's at 6500 or less.
crackerman50 2 years ago
What about the engine, would I need something bigger or better than the kawasaki 20?
PITVIPERBEN2008 2 years ago
I have a 4 cyl engine out of a suzuki samauri....a 1.3 litre. I use the computer out of the car on it. That's how I keep the rpm's down
crackerman50 2 years ago
Would something like that be good for the 425? find one at a junkyard?
