You have some really ingenious ideas on here like the fine tune weight adjustment and the locking mechanism. Just keep working on it and you'll find more and more solutions, that's what we did and now 4 years later we've almost got a perfect jib ready for production.
Great ideas going on here, once you get your design perfected maybe work with some carbon fiber and aluminum components. Shout out to @filmriot for the link.
I like your design. I have an idea for your head if you want to use it. I took a push button fishing reel and took it apart and used the drive gears for my pan then I hooked up a motor and and a drive belt and that's how I use my pan. Works nice and smooth too. Other thab that nice work even more on the dolly!
Hi, I have found some servo motors through an advertisement on Facebook. They seem reasonably priced and can control all the action for your camera. I like your rig though; so much thought has gone into making it.
@JonHColey Well, I haven't figured out a good way to mount a camera to it. Plus its been so cold here its no fun to be out working on it. I think it will be a spring time project, thanks for the interest!

May I suggest using morse control cables, similar to controls used in boat steering & forward/reverse functions as an idea for operating the camera.

Nice jib! You've put a lot of love into that! Can we see some footage of it in action?

i dont get whats the wires are for
FanatiQS 1 year ago
@FanatiQS the wires are to support the boom, if they weren't there the boom would droop. The other wire is the leveler cable for the camera mount.
