The hardest part is landing. After learning how to fly, it has taken me months to learn how to control my nerves for landing. I am finally getting over that huge learning curve. Flying the actual plane didn't take much, and I was able to fly around from the first day; however, when it was time to land the plane.... BANG!
Hey Dave and everybody, your videos are awesome! You recommend buying the Hawk Sky or Wild Hawk, now, right? Which one should I get? (I'm a complete beginner, but with experience on FMS, and with a controller.).
This was a great video. Straight to the point and very easy to understand what you're explaining (like orientation problems). Before watching this video I wasn't convinced to start with a simulator - didn't sound like fun, but you clearly explained how helpful it is. I was also impressed by your suggestion to change a few settings on the plane to test with since often the plane you'll be flying won't be set perfectly. Also suggesting a basic simulator that will be easier to set up. Thanks !!
I'd recommend a sim that shows a beginner safety in starting, handling, and setting up the plane properly with throttle cut, securing the wing, checking the battery before each flight, and many other things an instructor goes over.
I've seen the sim graduate. He's the guy that sometimes flies with his antenna down for a few hundred feet of the life of his trainer, or stands in the runway, or crashes into his legs, just like on the sim that passes through the person. Duh.
Do you know if the new radio you have he one that is a 10 channel radio is like the 6 channel? That has a 10 airplane memory??? About how much did it cost???
I got a simulator and it took me just 3 days to fly very well. I can land it and everything, I can also do many cool tricks. Is there anything wrong I'm doing?
everything he says is true...in the case of 4ch planes. but if you plan on starting with a 3ch plane, like a slo-v or a HZ super cub you can likely fly without any sim time. it doesnt hurt tho.
yea i got the rc simulator dummy thing and all that but i got just 1 problem i got the easyfly3 thing software and it has only big type gas engines i can only afford a simple sky hawk or some thing like that so i have no idea how they work , park planes and all that so does anyone know of any other rc simulator that i can get for free off the web ????
an other question that i`d like to ask is that are they really that easy to fly , planes i mean????
Yeah I agree with him, you CAN learn to fly without the sim, but IF you have a capable computer and the ability, the sim will save you HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS in parts and time for every single time you crash. Its relatively new technology, but INVALUABLE, Especially if you wanna become PRO at 3D flying.
hey nice informative video... too bad they didnt have simulators 34 years ago... it would have probably helped me... but i learned the old fashon way and i must say,, i am a excellent pilot now... but i do like to play with a simulator(now that they have invented it!) and here is one of those flights with a fms simulator and a add on plane... i have seen a revolution in rc flight in the last ten years!.. especially electric..
well, I do like RC Simulators, and you can really mess with them and have a lot of fun with them! but it is not true that you cant fly an airplane without practice on an simulator. there are hundereds of rc-airplanes wich are so easy to fly, its almost impossible to crash them! Example would be the EasyStar from Multiplex! But as simulatros go: Id suggest the Phönix-rc or the Aeroflight!
if you want to go cheap, and already have a way to connect your tx to the computer, try clearview, the demos pretty good. but I would recomend getting realflight G3.5- G5, or phoenix flight sim, their pretty good.
Depends on how serious you are with the hobby and equally important, how much are you willing to pay.
IMHO, a good sim will eventually pay for itself, like what the man described... 100% true. Phoenix flight Sim comes highly recommended. Visit forums, talk to people... do your homework...

hey, i have an esky 6-ch transmitter on phoenix simulator and whenever i hit the throttle up bottun the controls go extremely messed up. Does any1 have an idea how to stop this so i can do 3D flight.?
i bought an e sky simulator with the cd and usb transmiter.. and now i need a computer without the nvidia graphics card.... cause its causing the fms to flicker -.-
I had problems with that too, just download highres landscapes and remove 1 pixel in each direction for the ground texture and it will all be fine, check my vids for an example of FMS running under Vista 32-bit with a nvidia 8600gt
just pop it out i had my nvidia card to i just poped it out whenever i used the sim its a piece of cake or just buy clearview sim its alot better quality and its pretty cheap
well if its a laptop you cant do it. i have a dell dimention desktop i just open the side of the computer(while its unpluged ofcourse) find the card and just pop it right out. the comp will run on the normal onboard graphics
Is it me, or is FMS with an Xbox 360 controller much harder than Real Flight and FS 1. At the hobby shop, I had a very easy time flying every plane they had but the fast (and hard to keep up with) jets.
Or can those sims be set to easy? When I first tried them, a couple a weeks back, I crashed a lot on landings though. That doesn't happen now. I only crash when I try to do tricks.
I just installed FMS on a new dual core pentium laptop with 2 gig or ram. It flies quite realistically on this computer. I don't know if my old pc's specs were too bad or if it didn't handle the Xbox 360 controller right.
Everything (helli's too) is EASY to fly!!! A few models I've imported into FMS still have more edge than anything I flew in Real Flight or FS One, but even those are reasonably easy to fly for me.
I guess the glitch on the old pc worked to make me a much better pilot...
BTW, I built a home-hack foam 4CH plane and I can fly it reasonably well since using FMS. The first version, I did just like this guy says and just kept crashing it before flying FMS.
I got FMS and an Xbox 360 controller. This alone works reasonably well for me. Oddly enough, I've been doing what he's talking about. I just started a couple of weeks ago and now I can fly pretty tough planes like the Su 26, BF 109, and Airbus. The weird thing is that I can fly some of the toughest planes in there, even the flying wing glider, but I have trouble with that stinkin cessna skymaster.
i got that free copy of fms and i grabed a ps3 controller and messed oround with the controls in the computer and now i got a lil sim to kinda get use to the orientations.
When I bought my first RC plane, I bought directly a simulator. It really helps. I'm just flying on the simulator now for like one week and I can do almost everything. So, I recommand every beginner to buy a simulater before you go into the field!
Dave! This is an awesome video :D I wish I could have seen this when I was just getting into RC planes! This should be required for every beginner to watch before ever doing anything else. I am on my 13th "trainer" plane and just ordered the e-sky flight sim :) I have spend big money on planes and it is really really frustrating because when you almost get it there is no round two no second chance to nail it. This video was awesome and totally inspirational thanks Dave :)
i got a 3 ch piper cub about a month ago. and one time i pressed up but i forgot up is down so it nose dived down and it smashed (that was the 4th time it crashed) and so we glued it back together (it still works:) ) so i got a simulator and it came today. thnx for the tip
I have loved flying for a long time. Many years ago, my friend gave me his old copy of RealFlight G2, and I played on that thing for hours on end. Now I fly more with X-Plane 9, but RealFlight changed my life
I found it very useful to set up up my flight sim (I use FMS) with zero mean wind speed and 4-5m/s gusts. In this way you can have an intense experience of flying in unexpected conditions.
A few weeks before I received my ESky 0905A, I decided to have a little fun with the FMS software using my keyboard to control the planes. I overtrained and felt that I could eventually transfer the skills over to the controler. Fat chance! I had to start from scratch. The difference in the feeling is amazing!
thanks for this! i needed someone to convince me to take my time before flying. i just brought the esky belt-cp and it came 2 days ago. I have been trying to stop myself taking it out too soon and crashing it. I just ordered a simulator cable for the transmitter and a set of training legs! esky has a free simulator which is pretty cool but i might use realflight g4. your video has helped me not to rush into things. its just painfull looking at her sitting on my shelf!
HOLY COW!!! Am I ever glad that I watched this before we (my son and I) have our plane ready. My son would've been heart broken if we had crashed his plane on the first flight. I cannot thank you enough for this video.
Fantastic! I ordered the "E-Sky R/C Helicopter and Plane Simulator for PC" first thing today. According to the reviews, the controller works with a few different simulator software programs. I have a feeling my 11 year old son will get a handle on it quicker than I will. He's left-handed/ ambidextrous and seems to have an easy time visualizing 3D drawings and schematics from all different viewpoints. This might be son teaching dad. 8^)
The other option is to learning to fly is to get a flight instructor who flies with a BUDDY BOX. this is a good way to learn and lets you get right into it. simulators though, allow you to fly in any weather any time. this is a major advantage. plus, they are a lot of fun and allow you to fly sevral different types of planes without fear. weather you get an instuctor or simulator depends on what you want to do, whats convienet, and whats avalible. I personally did and still do both!
lol, that stuff that people always say RC is harder to fly than full scale, is well, b/s. The orientation makes it harder sure, but full scale aerobatics are far harder than rc aerobatics just due to the shear weight and the fact that you have your life in your hands. Small rc's are snappy and require fast reflexes, but recover from tumbles and stalled flight quick. Bigger heavier rc's, like the Hempel 50% Edge, require you to think farther ahead than with a small RC. apples & oranges really.
he says harder to learn, and i have to agree with him, however only to the extent of rc flying standards. theres A LOT more to real aircraft flying than just pitch roll and throttle.
you really should start selling the sims because the system specs needed are on the box and there is not enough hobby shops selling them I was able to find a copy of FSone at our local hobby store for around 80$ its great
Realflight G3.5 - I can fly like a pro - 3D, Knife edge, inverted, you name it.
Real world - I've crashed everything I've ever built. I'm not giving up, but simulators, no matter how good, can't prepare you for the 5 seconds after take off crash - when you say - "WTF happened then?!"
Yes, its the same thing with my buddy, good on the sim but not in real life. Thats just the first part to it. Its also the time invested in over training and simulating scenarios. To some this comes real easy.
i just orderd a rc corsair brushless as my first plane for xmas. i can allready fly a x-twin rc plane pretty decently and i can also fly rc helicopters pretty decently.
Excellent advice! just started trainng on fms and in 2 days i have gotten a lot better... Hopefully in 2 weeks i will be ready to fly this at-6 texan plane i ordered...I think with simulators and rtfs a lot more people will get into and stick with this hobby...
wow hes right about it on his other vid he said about torque stering and i didnt know so i put on more throttle. i eventually broke the wing off after about 2 mins of tring and it ws my first 4 ch rc plane
Huh. That's nice. But I play lots of videogames. It looks really easy. I mean, come on, up down left right. Big deal. I'm pretty sure I'll be okay. Just built my first kit, actually I had someone build it for me, it's a ducted fan F-14. Gonna fly it tommorrow at the local bus stop.
meh, no way. I can do anything, and flying's easy, I've watched plenty of vids on how to do it. My buddy has agreed to build it for me. I play hours of F-Zero, it can't be any harder than that.
Excellent advice. I'm a beginner and after a few crashes just bought the Phoenix simulator and it's almost as much fun or more so than the real model thing (no pain from crashing!!). Works with my Blade CX2 transmitter without any other adaptor than the dongle. Super realistic CX2 model. Multiplayer internet mode too.
No doubt...sims teach you the basics and keep you from turning your pride and joy aircraft into a roto-tiller in about 2 sec after takeoff. I stopped by a HobbyTown and tried one out (RealFlightG4). You'll be hooked, but even better...you'll know what to expect when you actually do get your baby out to the flying field. Spend the money...it's more than worth it!
I want a sim so i dont need a nitro beginner i think if i get a sim and master it i could get a nitro at-6 texan/Harard instead and fly it but the only sim i think at my hobbie store is Realflight G4
Hey! Dave, Can you tell me how to modify an Estes airplane from Wal-Mart? I really want the rudder and elevator controls on my plane. as for the bank I will use the thrust-vectoring on the plane. Please message me if you could. Thanks (even if you can't modify it). Oh yah that plane looks a bit like a DHC6 Twin Otter.
theebest, i would recommend a slo-v for oyu. Im 12 and i have been flying since i was 6. I fly big friggin gas helicopters with a blade span bigger than me! But yeah, get a PARKZONE SLO-V! Ok? They are slow enough that you have more time to respond to things. Enjoy this extremely expensive hobby =)
thanks alot for this vid im a begginer 12 years old and im hoping to get into this and i had a question about what you said about getting a simulator then getting a big 3-4 channel one that are better but since im younger and not that expirience should i just start out wth the 2 channel begginers. Im tired of the cheap toys r us air raptors and walmart xpvs thanks for all of your vids enjoy watching them cant wait for new ones with the other guy in them too there funny best of luck theeebest
I have a GWS E-Starter as a trainer it is really good! It also works as a good leisure plane now that I can fly.
I never had a simulator I did crash though. But I never had a single problem with reversing it seems so natural to me even the very fist time on a friends plane.
The bike still gets me I wonder why there isn't a simulator for that! (my front wheel
came off on a speed lump)
And Dave why don't you ever show your heli and other plane I'm interested...
nice video, good tips there. im more of a careful person anyway, so i would practice practice practice first before i would dare to try it for real.
im going to try and find an rc shop here, dont know if there is anything like that close by... that would be great. ive always wanted to fly stuff like this, you inspired me :)
i posted a huge comment on the dauphin video, which didnt get posted... how annoying.
i said there that i JUST ordered a 2-channel cheap heli at the same day u posted the video about the dauphin. it came in today, ima send it back and get the dauphin! much more worth the money.
one question though, do u have details on the Lama V4? im new to this stuff, it is a bit cheaper but can you (looking at just specs, maybe impossible) recommend it as well?
one more question... what was the price of the entire package for the dauphin when you bought it? here it is €109, but i still have to find out if that includes the batteries and the flight-sim... which is a MUST for me. im afraid that all is not included in the price and i have to buy it seperately...
So, I can fly RC helis no problem. I've gotten well accustomed to the dynamic orientation of the models, but haven't ever flown a plane. Any thoughts on how hard this might be starting with the Extra 300?
Sims are great, my very first flight I was doing barrel rolls and loops, then later landed in one piece with my low wing foamie. I did however spend years racing RC cars, and I think that really helps ?
i used to use rc cars too, and that helped me with having to mentally reverse the left/right movement when I turn around. So i never had that problem with my first few flights. I've never crashed in the 4 years that i've been in this hobby!
Right on! All my experiences over the last 6 months has proved how valuable the simulator is. I started with the HZ Supercub, and I'm sure I would have smashed it without a couple months on G3.5 Kept trying to fly in windy conditions- but the sim models that too!
I totally agree with you! Simulators made possible for us to extremely improve our skills. But I think after a while we should fly only the real models and not get stick on simulator, because we'll get used simulator's perfect physics and this will make very difficult to control the real model. Great video, well done!
Cool, thats good advice, although i started with a little electrafun xp and had a few minor crashes, then went sraight to a low wing nitro using the buddy system and thats going great. No crashes yet. Bought the plane cause it was going for a real good price, after saving up for a sim lol. i do agree i would probably be a lot better with a sim though. Do you have any preferances of sims? like Aerofly, RF G4, or pheonix? Thanks.
These simulators really work! I haven't flown rc airplanes for 22 yrs. Just recently last Christmas i was given a sporty t-28 low wing plane. Before i decided to make it's maiden flight i went to a rc hobby shop and they had an rc flight simulator set up. I tried it out and found out i was rusty at flying and crashed several times. I decided to buy it and it has saved me from crashing my new airplane and now with more practice on the simulator i have more confidence trying aerial tricks.
As usual Dave Powers has a winner. If you don't know David very well: be advised that he is an excellent designer, flier and yes, he has the ability to teach whild being a bit funny too.
Dave Powers is very consumer friendly. I started to give him all my business about 8 months ago. Dave doesn't tell you something just to make a sale. Dave IS HONEST after all he is one of us.
Excellent job!! Best beginner R/C video, every thing you said is true, people take his advice, as I went out and bought one of those cheap planes and crashed within 20 sec. Then bought a simulator practice for 40 hrs and then bought a real plane and flew like a pro..... One thing he did not mention the bigger the plane the easier they are to fly.
I always preach the benefits of R/C plane simulators at our club. You can easily tell which pilots have practiced on an R/C simulator and which have not. The ones that have are more confident and more proficient at flying and performing aerobatics.
The hardest part is landing. After learning how to fly, it has taken me months to learn how to control my nerves for landing. I am finally getting over that huge learning curve. a good tip to learn when flying is not "left turn right turn". choose a wing, mark it somehow. think of it as "marked wing up" or "marked wing down".

Before they had sims, we used trainer cords. I think the owner of the store got more flying time on other peoples planes, then his own.
One reason to still find great pilots around your field. they can help make sure its setup right. all the screws are tight, batteries charged, etc...

what do you use to remove 1 pixel from each texture?
speedstakerguy 2 years ago
hmm i tryed that, it took away the flicker but now its only white floor and grey walls
speedstakerguy 2 years ago
just pop it out i had my nvidia card to i just poped it out whenever i used the sim its a piece of cake or just buy clearview sim its alot better quality and its pretty cheap
RcUniverseGuy 2 years ago
hmm... if you pop it out.. then what graphics card will the computer use to like work? and how would i ''pop'' it out lol
speedstakerguy 2 years ago
well if its a laptop you cant do it. i have a dell dimention desktop i just open the side of the computer(while its unpluged ofcourse) find the card and just pop it right out. the comp will run on the normal onboard graphics

I only crash when I try to do tricks.
timberbridge 2 years ago
I just installed FMS on a new dual core pentium laptop with 2 gig or ram. It flies quite realistically on this computer. I don't know if my old pc's specs were too bad or if it didn't handle the Xbox 360 controller right.
Everything (helli's too) is EASY to fly!!! A few models I've imported into FMS still have more edge than anything I flew in Real Flight or FS One, but even those are reasonably easy to fly for me.
I guess the glitch on the old pc worked to make me a much better pilot...

I love my easyfly simulator, cheap but very good.
paraglide01 2 years ago
BTW, I built a home-hack foam 4CH plane and I can fly it reasonably well since using FMS. The first version, I did just like this guy says and just kept crashing it before flying FMS.
timberbridge 2 years ago
I got FMS and an Xbox 360 controller. This alone works reasonably well for me. Oddly enough, I've been doing what he's talking about. I just started a couple of weeks ago and now I can fly pretty tough planes like the Su 26, BF 109, and Airbus. The weird thing is that I can fly some of the toughest planes in there, even the flying wing glider, but I have trouble with that stinkin cessna skymaster.

Hey Dave,
When I bought my first RC plane, I bought directly a simulator. It really helps. I'm just flying on the simulator now for like one week and I can do almost everything. So, I recommand every beginner to buy a simulater before you go into the field!
Your video's rock Dave!
raouldin 2 years ago
This video was awesome and totally inspirational thanks Dave :)

hi dave
i got a 3 ch piper cub about a month ago. and one time i pressed up but i forgot up is down so it nose dived down and it smashed (that was the 4th time it crashed) and so we glued it back together (it still works:) ) so i got a simulator and it came today. thnx for the tip

hey should I get the super cub w/ dx6 or simulator dx6 and super cub or just the simulator.
If so which simulator

I wonder if I can use dual analog gamepad with free FMS?
shocki85 2 years ago
I have loved flying for a long time. Many years ago, my friend gave me his old copy of RealFlight G2, and I played on that thing for hours on end. Now I fly more with X-Plane 9, but RealFlight changed my life
mrbinkidoo 2 years ago
I found it very useful to set up up my flight sim (I use FMS) with zero mean wind speed and 4-5m/s gusts. In this way you can have an intense experience of flying in unexpected conditions.

I really enjoy your videos Dave!
A few weeks before I received my ESky 0905A, I decided to have a little fun with the FMS software using my keyboard to control the planes. I overtrained and felt that I could eventually transfer the skills over to the controler. Fat chance! I had to start from scratch. The difference in the feeling is amazing!
As Dave said: Don't Use Your Computer Keyboard!

Hey thanks alot!
Dave
RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
thanks for this! i needed someone to convince me to take my time before flying. i just brought the esky belt-cp and it came 2 days ago.

Hey great! We have a new Beginner RC show here on YouTube every Thursday now, just put the first vid up today. It will help alot too.
Dave
RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
Diffie64 3 years ago
The other option is to learning to fly is to get a flight instructor who flies with a BUDDY BOX. this is a good way to learn and lets you get right into it. simulators though, allow you to fly in any weather any time. this is a major advantage. plus, they are a lot of fun and allow you to fly sevral different types of planes without fear. weather you get an instuctor or simulator depends on what you want to do, whats convienet, and whats avalible. I personally did and still do both!

RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
lol, that stuff that people always say RC is harder to fly than full scale, is well, b/s. The orientation makes it harder sure, but full scale aerobatics are far harder than rc aerobatics just due to the shear weight and the fact that you have your life in your hands. Small rc's are snappy and require fast reflexes, but recover from tumbles and stalled flight quick. Bigger heavier rc's, like the Hempel 50% Edge, require you to think farther ahead than with a small RC. apples & oranges really.
nerdagedon2012 3 years ago
he says harder to learn, and i have to agree with him, however only to the extent of rc flying standards. theres A LOT more to real aircraft flying than just pitch roll and throttle.
calvinliang1 3 years ago
Ok, dave, is it possible that RCpowers will make an eBook entitled - 'Lots of sim time and near flight experience - but 0% success?
How to build and fly a perfect plane, with at least 3 channels - by yourself"
I'd buy it (if you took maestro(I'm in the UK) or paypal).
Don't mention a club to me, my nearest is about 1 and a half hours away. Work, kids, and even more work mean I don't have that much free time.
Suggestions?
I'm not giving (near) flight up!!
toffas1 3 years ago
you really should start selling the sims because the system specs needed are on the box and there is not enough hobby shops selling them I was able to find a copy of FSone at our local hobby store for around 80$ its great
64thAGGRESSOR 3 years ago
Have to argue, I'm afraid, dave.
Simulators - Good games - not good training.
toffas1 3 years ago
Yes, its the same thing with my buddy, good on the sim but not in real life. Thats just the first part to it. Its also the time invested in over training and simulating scenarios. To some this comes real easy.

I play hours of F-Zero, it can't be any harder than that.

spoiledworm 3 years ago
Excellent advice. I'm a beginner and after a few crashes just bought the Phoenix simulator and it's almost as much fun or more so than the real model thing (no pain from crashing!!). Works with my Blade CX2 transmitter without any other adaptor than the dongle. Super realistic CX2 model. Multiplayer internet mode too.
TheRealDellAnderson 3 years ago
No doubt...sims teach you the basics and keep you from turning your pride and joy aircraft into a roto-tiller in about 2 sec after takeoff. I stopped by a HobbyTown and tried one out (RealFlightG4). You'll be hooked, but even better...you'll know what to expect when you actually do get your baby out to the flying field. Spend the money...it's more than worth it!

DaDASHDevil 3 years ago
I hate it when that happens! Yes the Lama V4 looks like its about the same thing just with a different body.Looks like a good one.
RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
alright man, thanks!
one more question... what was the price of the entire package for the dauphin when you bought it? here it is €109, but i still have to find out if that includes the batteries and the flight-sim... which is a MUST for me. im afraid that all is not included in the price and i have to buy it seperately...
DaDASHDevil 3 years ago
Click on the links that are on the heli video and go to the website. There is the price of everything there.

So, I can fly RC helis no problem. I've gotten well accustomed to the dynamic orientation of the models, but haven't ever flown a plane. Any thoughts on how hard this might be starting with the Extra 300?

I'd say so. Helis are harder than planes for the most part.

Sims are great, my very first flight I was doing barrel rolls and loops, then later landed in one piece with my low wing foamie. I did however spend years racing RC cars, and I think that really helps ?
TifosiNZ 3 years ago
it helped with rudder and flying upright
but i don't do that
for me its 3D =P
trxspirit 3 years ago
i used to use rc cars too, and that helped me with having to mentally reverse the left/right movement when I turn around. So i never had that problem with my first few flights. I've never crashed in the 4 years that i've been in this hobby!
horizonflyer9 3 years ago
Right on! All my experiences over the last 6 months has proved how valuable the simulator is. I started with the HZ Supercub, and I'm sure I would have smashed it without a couple months on G3.5 Kept trying to fly in windy conditions- but the sim models that too!
1027sterling 3 years ago
Hey great job! Keep it up, it really pays off. Thats how I learned all my tricks.

Hey alright, thanks glad it was.
RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
I totally agree with you! Simulators made possible for us to extremely improve our skills. But I think after a while we should fly only the real models and not get stick on simulator, because we'll get used simulator's perfect physics and this will make very difficult to control the real model. Great video, well done!
BooHeSha 3 years ago
Hey alright, thanks!
RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
Cool, thats good advice, although i started with a little electrafun xp and had a few minor crashes, then went sraight to a low wing nitro using the buddy system and thats going great. No crashes yet. Bought the plane cause it was going for a real good price, after saving up for a sim lol. i do agree i would probably be a lot better with a sim though. Do you have any preferances of sims? like Aerofly, RF G4, or pheonix? Thanks.
zim9792 3 years ago
Hey thanks! I have used and like the G4 alot.
RCSuperPowers 3 years ago
These simulators really work! I haven't flown rc airplanes for 22 yrs. Just recently last Christmas i was given a sporty t-28 low wing plane. Before i decided to make it's maiden flight i went to a rc hobby shop and they had an rc flight simulator set up. I tried it out and found out i was rusty at flying and crashed several times. I decided to buy it and it has saved me from crashing my new airplane and now with more practice on the simulator i have more confidence trying aerial tricks.

BoundForHell68 4 years ago
Hey alright! Thanks!
RCSuperPowers 4 years ago
I always preach the benefits of R/C plane simulators at our club. You can easily tell which pilots have practiced on an R/C simulator and which have not. The ones that have are more confident and more proficient at flying and performing aerobatics.
