why do people hate the GBA version so much , the only thing I can say bad about is the music quality. The music is not bad but its just not as good as the snes version or psx
@SgtThom lol...I was kidding man..isn't that obvious? Well I guess I can see how you would think I might be on drugs after a statement like the one i said.
BTW: the GBA version DONT HATE IT its playable it was the first tales game i ever played and i love it (i think the sale is one of the reasons why the psp version never came out here)
GBA doesn't use FM syntheses only analog polysyntheses and can use wave tables just like the SNES.However it have inferior sound quality(bit rate etc)and output fewer sound channels.
How dare U compare Phantasia to pokemon, i mean i love pokemon and all dont get me wrong i have Blue, crystal, leaf green, and diamond, but this is, im sorry to say A TRUE RPG.
I know you like this game, but there's no need to say stupid things like that lolz
Believe it or not Pokemon is indeed an RPG. It's funny because Pokemon and most others follow a similar structure. Go around making pacts with Summon Spirits, travel through caves, go to an Inn to heal yourself, etc.
In Pokemon you go around catching Pokemon, gathering badges, traveling through caves, go to a Inn-oops! I mean "Pokemon Center" to heal your Pokemon, etc. Pokemon gives an illusion of difference
@metroidhunter009 this game is very very good but you can't say pokemon is not a real rpg...it has the same game engine since red version for a reason...they're just 2 different style rpg's that's all..
Dhaos actually looks threatening in the. In the GBA version he looks like an overgrown 5-year old. Not to mention that his second form looks ridiculous compared to the one in the SNES version.
The GBA version was stupidly easy, with the battle speed slowed down to a crawl, horrible voice acting and translation work in the USA version.
So yes, the SNES version is better than the GBA version, but I still say that the PSX version is the best incarnation as it has a really steep difficulty, a faster combat speed and smoother combat gameplay, not to mention that it looks better, it also had a few extras exclusive.
now i see wwhy you can't do demon fang on short range... its in commands like in star ocean, NOW i like GBA version better than SNES ....in fact ...i always did
Honestly, I know that the GBA version is the worst out of the Phantasias, but for me and probably most other people, it's the only way to actually play the game. I mean, not everyone can either download the game with an English patch or buy a Japanese PSX/SNES/PSP and buy the game, while knowing Japanese.
My Computer is too slow and crappy for the first option, and I can't do the second either. (Besides, what's the point of playing a game you can't understand? Especially an RPG)
No I am not kidding. I am practically the only one who likes the voice acting on the Game Boy Advance version beacuse none of the famous voice actors did it. Phase 1, the company that translated the English voices used the company's own workers to do the character voices. I am sick and tired of the famous voice actors hogging the limelight. However, I do like the SNES version because of the music and battles.
i love the snes version it best its been awile since ive played but im gonna start back up last time i played i think everyone was master exept for chester :)
I really prefer the sprite design in the gba version....... I also loved the gba version. So imo it is worth it and I have 12 other Tales games and I still love the gba version of Phantasia.
Are you playing this on the SNES? Because I thought this was only released in Jap for the SNES.

GBA had bad washed out color and sound because od the dark screen and FM synthesis vs the SNES Wavetable synthesis.

Does your character always run back after it attacks something?

Yup, to position where he started his attack

I prefer SNES sprites, even though they don't match with the artwork.

i rather this than GBA version =/

im currently playing the PSX version anyone ever play that one before?
metroidhunter009 3 years ago
I've played it. It's the best one, the psp one WOULD be best, but some of the sprites don't match with each other.

However I'm not claiming Pokemon plays like Tales games. Tales is also unique in it's own way.

Yep, that proves it, the SNES version is better. The wolves in the gba version look like cats? The difference in detail is crazy.

Same here...although lucky for me I know Japanese so I play the psx version, which is the best (just like GBA only better)

Theres a rom..with a full english translation...haha..
Download it!
TOPmusicman8 3 years ago
Have you missed the part where I mentioned my very slow and crappy computer which can hardly emulate a GBA game without randomly shutting down?
Pinkemon 3 years ago 2
Haha, in all honesty, I missed that part. My apologies.
But I'm pretty sure you should at least be able to run an SNES emulator?
TOPmusicman8 3 years ago
i have GBA version and not regreting it. im thinking in getting the other versions though....wishing vor a Wii version
satsugekibukouken 3 years ago
That sucks, because you can put the translated ROm on a CD-R and actually play it on a normal PSX which is really far better..
