Everyone if you would like to buy the motorola gp68 buy it from digital_come06 on eBay he has UHF and VHF from hong kong for a total of about 65.00 to 75.00 U.S.A currentcy
in other words the hong kong people, bought a complete motorola parts inventory, and just "build" a whole bunch of these "gp68", in overal they are not that bad, but is the the very best quality fom real motorola
to be honest this radio is a knock off and it is not a original motorola, well it is but it is made out of parts, and that also why the battery doesn't fit well, some of these radios comeout having a very bad quality of sound. a question i have is is, did you had any problems programing it, or u didn't even program it?
it dus work on HAM , AIR , TAXI , BOAT , SO U CAN get in a tone of shit in the uk by using it and the power out put is 5 or 6 watt on low 1 watt witch is still hight so it can get out so use PMR bands

By the way, this is a great review for a fella who isn't really into radios. Its not a professional radio, its more of a talkabout type but nontheless, its a good radio for things like short range and airsoft it would be good for ya. Well done!
Excellent radio and good review. We're nearly all guilty of using the PMR446 channels illegally, though there is a good reason why it's illegal: because 446 radios are limited to 500mW they're for short range (1-3 miles) whereas when you use them in a professional radio (4W/5W) you're putting out more power and so ranging further, so could be interfering with others.
It sucks but they're now releasing general LPD channels and Business 449mhz channels.
@OhAolain Yeah, I've had tons of radios Cobras, one Motorola and few others etc over past 10 years, I don't even think they enforce that law or care lol. Plus if you think about it, there's so many channel/private options now it's not even an issue. Usually this is what businesses and local enforcement so anyway. I always set my own private channel for no interference. I heard a cabby once, that was hiliarious lol
Sorry I am no expert when it comes to radios. This is the only one I have besides a few cheap PMR446 ones. There are a couple of other reviews on the GP68 that may give you some pointers.
Did anyone else check their Xbox to see who came online?

hey can the gp68 be programmed to set off an alert the same as a minitor pager can if a certain tone is set off?

Did your radio come automatically unlocked for PMR446 channels? I've just brought one and I'm looking to unlock this feature.

@skalathraxify The frequencies for PMR 446 were not blocked in any way, I simply typed them in and saved them.
