  • All the specs sheets i can find state 9.5'' radius?!

  • 6:50 Stevie Ray

  • ya suck

  • "yeah its pretty cool" for every position haha

  • Ya it's pretty cool... Haha

  • booo u suck

  • the fender MIM strats of today are crafted just as good as most fender MIA strats

i would buy a MIM strat just as fast as a MIA strat because the MIM strats

    are that Good!!!!

  • i want to buy this guitar but when i read that it has vintage noiseless i wasn't sure about buy it, because i want to use it for rhcp, jimmie, led zeppelin and modern rock, i had the impression i would be sound as a gibson les paul, and also want to use it live......would you reccomend this or classic player 50 or classic 50 strato or a classic 70..... sorry for the huge comment

  • Soundin' good at 5:36 .

  • Kid, you keep saying "Pretty Cool", and apparently it annoys a lot of people.

Not me, though, I find it hilarious. ; )

You're also a very good guitar player, and you do a great job of demonstrating this guitar. Nice work.

    Cheers.

  • it's a mexican made?

  • does the tremolo have the "old school" screw in arm, or is it like the new ones where you "pop" it in?

  • uh you know, uuh yeah, it's pretty cool

  • im thinking about buying one of these and putting hot rails in the bridge or buying a highway one.. not sure yet

  • can you recommend this guitar? I have an epiphone lp std, so i want a bit mark knopfler/david gilmour sound!

  • I have this guitar and I am quite happy with it. I also have a Les Paul and am quite happy with that. Each guitar has it's own voice and you should use the guitar whose voice helps you express your own! Trial and error is the only way. Although I love Gibson guitars, I always return to my Fenders. Hope this helped.

  • the lick at 5:55 is beast

  • ur the man dude

  • "You know, uh, its pretty cool", 7 MINUTES OF THIS, NEVER AGAIN.

Otherwise, for a video you seem to have shot in your room/basement, good job showcasing a few tones on the mexi strat.

  • @Rendell05 Where did you want him to shoot it, in a tv studio or movie set? This is obviously not an official Fender site. If youtube vids that "seem to have been shot in a room/basement" surprise you, you must be living under a rock.

  • Wow you completely misread what I said, the second part was not sarcasm. Just because I found his continuous repetitive-ness very irritating, does not mean I want to rip him apart, as I said, aside from that and obviously doing this in a fairly low budget scenario, he managed to showcase the tones he was trying to hilight rather well.

  • S'funny ... I thought my noiseless pickups sounded great ... everyone is different ... what would you replace them with?

  • They are great , clapton uses it ... who are us to criticise his oppinion!!

  • Hey can you tell me please if i can play rage against the machine songs good on this guitar? Or would you prefer something else for tom morelo sound?

  • You could do this very easily on this guitar. Strats are at their core a souped up tele, which is what Tom Morello plays.

  • i'm currently saving for mine.

  • cool im getting mine tommorow

  • Fuck I hate demos from kids

  • so whats the difference (other than the color) from this $700 guitar to a regular stander strat?!!?

    plz answer

  • this as compared to a standard strat has an ash body as oposed to alder, goldplated hardware and this can have evry single type of pickup combo possible with the extra button added. With a standard strat you cant have all pickups at the same time and you can have just the front and back pickups working. Also this is installed with noiseless pickups that reduce hum significantly. Plus you get more finish options.

  • @alexdaman8 It's $599

  • Nice playing, and nice strat! I just have one tip for playing hendrix- when he plays on the sixth string, he curls his thumb around to play the root note, which leaves himself the luxury of using all five fingers for playing. This also allows him to have some more fluidity, as opposed to having to stop abruptly at each not he plays on the low E to play something else, as you had to do. I think you did great on everything else, though! Nice job, man!

  • The Vintage Noiseless pickups are muddy as hell, especially with drive and sqounky in the midrange, very thin, no warm, Strat quack. The guitar is good, I bought one and put in Van Zandts and new tone cap. I can live with a little noise, but not crappy tone.

  • It all depends on the kind of music you want to play. If you are looking for Knopfler type tones this guitar can approximate them with no 60 cycle hum. There are other Fenders more suited for the heavier, more driven tones. And indeed, you can change pickups on this guitar to change its personality entirely! This is a well made instrument and even though its not American made I like it a lot. But I only use it for specific playing purposes. My guess is its not a good all-around guitar.

  • Get rid of those vintage noiseless and stick some Samarium cobalt noiseless in

  • why would you bother with distortion if you are gonna demo it? it completely defeats the purpose as all the guitars virtually sound the same with that much distortion.

  • i cant beleive you played Misirlou, try to improv, its wierd you just play a existing song/riffs.

Dont get me wrong you play very well! but it seems like you just learn a handfull of licks and practiced them for months.

  • while i sort of agree with you, i think that it is something he is comfortable he is playing and gives the listener a chacne to hear the guitar...even on distortion... but you dont ahve to listen to some guytrying to improve and hitting x1000 wrong notes.... great playing i am definately considering this guitar

  • ya know.

NO I DON"T KNOW. WHY DON'T YOU ENLIGHTEN ME??

  • Since when is the neck and neck/middle position 4 and 5? It's position one and two. Congratulations.

  • Please... stop... saying.... pretty cool.....

  • and why does he need a marshall half stack for just practicing in a bedroom haha, join a band

  • it's been gigged out on many ocassions, brother.

  • brother?? hahaha

  • its up to him if he want half stack or whatever he,s not using your money

  • This kid is actually pretty good, he just needs to use some new licks

  • uuuuhh ya know

  • 2:35

since when are strats "warm" sounding?!?

  • I think he means "bright". I actually just figured out the difference, myself, in the video I watched before this.

  • WRONG. The NECK pick-up is not supposed to be bright. That's what the BRIDGE is for. The neck is supposed to be darker sounding. And yes scribby, Strats are supposed to be warm. That's a complaint about hum canceling single coil pickups, they don't have that vintage "warm" single coil sound. They sound sterile. So if it makes you feel any better, you can add in organic or natural. All boils down to the same thing.

  • lol he says "ya know" 27 times!! haha

  • i lost count on how many times he said "yeah, uh, pretty cool"

  • you wolf

  • haha 3:55 watch his eyebrows

  • Yes i have heard real pickups seen as i own a 1961 fender stratocaster with it's 61 pickups.

  • You have one of them and no video of it?

  • Pickups on mine are perfect.. just like the rest of the guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • i am going to get one and put a maple reverse headstock neck on it

  • Hey man, one of the most important things for me, Can you have a good feedback in that guitar???

  • Very good demo man, liked the jam song selection.

  • would this guitar be good for blues? maby with other pups?

  • Strats are very versatiles, but they're the best for blues man

  • Nice guitar man!

  • My god your picky ^^ Great guitar though ;)

  • my are noiseless noiseless ! like one time i put my guitar donw and it was super loud on the amp grabed my guitar really hard and it scared the heck out of me i thought the amp was off

  • 4th position with the button down. sounds good

  • My noiseless pups aren't that noiseless. Does anyone else have this problem?

  • mine is great. i just have some hum on the 3rd fret, g string

  • What is the name of the song played from 6.10 to 6.20?

  • Look in the movie PULP FICTION

  • Dick Dale - Miserlou (sp?)

  • i can't beleive he played :O that kind of sad. But hes good

  • if you raise the neck pup it will get a warmer tone

  • whats the best neck pickup for strats that give the famous fender neck bluesy sound???

  • i like custom shop 69 pickups

  • wat does a noiseless pickup do?

  • It cancels the hum coming from the amp that is produced from turning up gain or overdrive.

  • THAT guitar is a bit too twangy for my liken still a pretty cool guitar

  • Hey, it´s you that posted that rockabilly fingerstyle lesson. I liked that one very much, it helped me a lot. Now I´m interested in the Deluxe Player Strat, and there you are again! Funny!

  • I prefer the Roadhouse strat much more than this one. Just as well made, but already installed with Texas Special pups. Which IMO are much much hotter than the noiseless pups. Although the gold hardware looks sweet, I prefer a guitar that you can get a nice warm tone, unlike this one.

  • Although you can't get them on the Rosewood neck without the HSS. And HSS on a strat is just stupid IMO. But to be honest, a Roadhouse with 3 single coil texas specials is basically just the SRV strat... which fender charge over $2000 for.

  • They sell Mexican made Roadhouse strats for under 800, with 3 single coil texas specials.

The Lonestar is the HSS, for about the same price.

  • You can't get a Roadhouse strat with a rosewood neck, that's what I'm getting at. And you can't get a Lonestar with 3 single coil texas specials. The in-between is the SRV strat.

  • Ok. Just sayin that the roadhouse and the lonestar both get pretty close for the money.

  • where is that guitar made?

  • its made in Mexico

  • both are. i heard the pickups on this are weak i just love the finish of the blue transperent

  • Great video and very informative. Cool playing btw! About the neck, since you play all radius sizes, how do you find the 12" compared to the 9.5"? Can you compare both for chords, bending and general 'feel' please? Is the neck chunky, or what? Like a standard 'c'? Fatter? Is neck dry or poly? Are the frets likely to need attention, i.e. do they hamper speedy 'up and down the neck' playing? Which neck would 'you' prefer for a gig?

    Thanks. P.S.

That's a beautiful body on that strat.

  • Hey, just go play it at Guitar Center. thats what i did

  • Comment removed

  • what amp uses?

  • He reminds me a little of the character "Eric Forman" in "That 70's Show"

  • yeah except with red hair

  • Smart man no tremolo cover!!! It actually increases gain and sustain!!

  • "yeah its pretty cool"

  • Pickups? Amp? Thanxs...

  • lol i'm a huge Floyd fan but thats the wrong axe for Another brick in the wall but nice playing thou,

  • mine is red

  • nice playing bro!

  • i love it

  • your a dick

  • in the begging it sound like he says its and ass body.

  • I am trying to decide on a hwy 1 strat and the players deluxe. Which ever I get, I am planning on putting Texas Special Pickups in it.

  • if i were u, i would get the roadhouse strat, from musicians friend. its already got the texas specials in them, but hey, im just throwin that out there

  • What is better, the deluxe players strat or the standard one?

  • are you talking about the MIM standard or the american one? personally i would consider this (and all of the upper-priced MIM's) on par with the american standards, and definitely a league ahead of the MIM standards.

  • uh yeah, its pretty cool

  • hahahahahaha

  • nice guitar sweet

  • i love this guitar i was gonna buy it until my parents bought me a car now ive to pa for insurance i would have bought this and a nice crate shockwave , its an amazing guitar for any genre of music personally i think its the best guitar ive have played and probably ever will

  • awesome guitar i have the same one! i got a vid up right now of a john mayer cover check it out?!

  • uh yeah, its pretty cool lol

  • i jsut picked up a usa deluxe strat not the ash model though , i love the pickups what pickups were you considering? woudl the s-1 swtich still work after replacing the pickups?

  • i bought an epiphone les paul plus top for about as much money as this, and i wish i bought this now! strats are just so much more versatile

  • uh yeah, its pretty cool... how many times did you say that?

  • i play a lot of alternitive and rock, you think this would be a good guitar for me?

  • OH and how well does it handle distortion?

  • "Its pretty cool"

  • I almost got one of these, but ended up tossing in an extra couple hundred for a American Deluxe Special Mahogany HSS, and I'm glad I did. It sounds sooo good through my Hot rod DeVille 4x10. This one sounds very bright...maybe a little less treble and more mid and bass. But I agree about the tubes. Strats always sound better through a nice big tube amp.

  • they're both great strats. two very different tones though. i have enough warm guitars to satisfy me, so i went for an ash-bodied guitar with lots of high end snap, mostly for good cleans and blues-grit type stuff.

  • what kinda amp are you using.

  • marshall JCM2000 dsl50. into an orange cab with 2 celestion v30s.

  • plug that into a good tube amp and your pickups will sound better.

  • But I'm just asking something, does the Deluxe Player play better than an American Standard. 'Cause I played with an American Standard but not with an Deluxe, I'm only watching review video of it. PLZ tell me! THX -PP-

  • they're both great. the deluxe players are brighter, so i'd make that the deciding factor. they both play very well.

  • Thx a lot for awnsering my question!

  • hey man can this guitar handle metal or no? maybe if u put different p.u's

  • tbh, i wouldn't try it. the ash body would make it VERY bright for metal, regardless of pickups. look at the alder strats or especially the mahogany strats, if you want a strat for metal.

  • ONE DAY!!! I'll have enough for a deluxe player blue saphire guitar and I'm gonna hold it in my hand for ever! :D

  • definitely. it's one guitar that has a niche of tone that nothing else but another ash strat can fill.

  • er yeah ah yeah er ah er its pretty cool er!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this guitar good for funk rock?

  • yeah it is strats are one of the best guitars for funk, along with a good ol gibson sg

  • you say uh alot.

  • This is defiantly the next guitar I'm going to get. (I'm not happy with my Epiphone). This guitar seems really cool.

By the way I noticed the Pink Floyd solo at 2:58. That's one of my favorite songs to play on guitar.

  • Man, I have the EXACT same guitar (if yours is MIM) and mine sounds nowhere near as nice as yours! In fact, I am in the process of selling mine. If it sounded as good as yours, I would NEVER part with it.

  • it could be the amp...

  • Amps are always more important than a guitar if you want a good sound

  • I beg to differ

  • Well of course you're going to need a guitar, but a good valve amp can make a crappy guitar sound decent.

  • true

  • Sounds like a guitar I'm looking for!!! What's the average price for a jewel like this one?

  • 600-700 us dollars. thinking about picking one up myself. all around guitar.

  • i wrote to much..........

  • But the greatest thing about this guitar is the clean tone, just like a fender should be of course. Also a little tip If you put it on the neck pickup and kill the tone you get a really nice deep tone that sounds relevant to a les paul when distorted. No joke! you can get pretty damn close to that sound. It has a little bit of a slash sound cause i know he did that to his pauls. Put it on the neck and kill the tone and tell me what you think. YOu be the judge......yeah just buy the guitar haha

  • dude, i just came from samash like 5 hours ago

i bought this guitar , the blue saphire one,

and it rocks! just comment( although a lil bit large)

    helps me alot!

  • i have the blue colored fender deluxe. I love it. I have had it for about 2 years now and have been playing for 4. One thing i have to complain about it buzz but other than that its flawless. I bust out zeppelin to guns n roses to a really nice crunchy ac/dc tone. It can play pretty much anything that should be on a gibson. And it can handle metal distortion, while still maintaining a good sound. I mean i deff wouldnt purchase the guitar to play metal on it, but it plays it just fine.

  • nice review

  • uhhh,,,,uhhhh

  • Hi, would you say the neck is on the chunky side because im thinking of getting one but i have small hands

  • it's the standard C shaped fender neck. i'd say, on a scale of one to ten, one being mega skinny and ten being a baseball bat, it's about a 4 or 4.5. it's comfortable, don't worry. my hands are tiny as well.

  • yeah, its pretty cool

  • How does the guitar sound with all 3 pickups?

  • to my ears anyway, it sounds pretty similar to the neck/mid combination, maybe a little brighter/sparklier. the good part of that button is the neck/bridge combination. very unique sounding, almost telecaster like =)

  • yeah guys, i know i say that a lot :P

  • Yeah, it's pretty cool..

  • ROCK LOBSTER DAMN YOU FOR GAS!

  • awesome playing.

i love that guitar, im going to buy one soon.

i think you said, yeah its pretty cool about 300 times haha.

  • thanks! and yes, it's a joy to play and hear.

haha yeah, my friends have let me know that i've said that so much in this video

  • aaa.. yeah.. its pretty cool :)

  • What amp would you happen to have used in this video?

  • my marshall dsl50 into an orange 2x12 cab with celestion v'30 speakers.

  • nice to see the blues aren't dead

  • This kid can freakin PLAY! Making gingers proud, the world over.
