Two things. 1: That thing is all dried out and 2: Snapping turtles aren't dangerous. I've been bitten by many large snapping turtles, it's about the same as a mouse trap, which is also extremely over-rated. Put it this way, it hurts less than stubbing your toe.

Millions of turtles are crushed by cars every year. To some people, it is a sport to run them over. I would have helped him off the road. When cars and trucks come by they go into their shells, which is their natural defense, instead of run for their lives. They are like sitting ducks. I have never run over a turtle and watch out for them. I only hope human beings will someday feel half the pain they inflict on animals. For the most part, our species is full of a bunch of pigs.
