At the end of the 1967 war, Israel won the Sinai peninsula, (from Egypt), Gaza (from Egypt) and the West Bank (from Jordan). Since Israel withdrew from the Sinai in 1982 and Gaza in 2005 they have withdrawn from approximately 95% of land which was won in a defensive war.

Here's the problem, you have this land, then your neighbor moves on your property. You tolerate them being there but after a while, they think they own the land. Now they'll try and kill you because you won't give in to them.
I agree that they have every right to "try" to have it back but realistically they never will. That is the lesson the Palestinians should learn. Israel has never given up land they took in war until they were forced into negotiations by violence (Sinai Peninsula, Gaza, Lebanon) - I'm not anti Israel, but this is a simple fact - they were forced into Clinton negotiations by years of intifada - the sad fact is that they will only leaving the West Bank and East Jerusalem after enough blood, violence and international revulsion, they have never done anything else, and show no signs of changing -

I think they'll make a peace deal while Obama is in office. They'll probably give back a lot of the West Bank and put East Jerusalem under UN control .. the US wouldn't pay a cent if it does not serve its or israel's interest. if the US pays arabs counties it would actually come out the israel protection budget. plus, the gulf arabs are somehow financing most of these payments. so, its not as simple as one might think. you have to admit that AIPAC has a huge influence on US politics and spending. in so many cases the US prioritizes israel's interest over its own; the war in iraq is one big example.

I disagree. It;s actually apparent that the US government prioritizes arab interests over its own. For example, the large oil inventory in the gulf states enables them to pressure the US government and take advantage of them. They have dragged their feet on Iran, won't strongly condemn the palestinians or saudi arabia. Rather they "suggest" that they change their ways. which we all know is BS. At the end of the day, Israel receives pennies from the foreign aid program compared to arab states.

At the end of the 1967 war, Israel won the Sinai peninsula, (from Egypt), Gaza (from Egypt) and the West Bank (from Jordan). Since Israel withdrew from the Sinai in 1982 and Gaza in 2005 they have withdrawn from approximately 95% of land which was won in a defensive war.

All of the land was where Palestinians lived. The land before 1967 accounts for 78% of the total by accepting 242 and 338 the PLO conceded 78%. That's definitely called a concession, but Israel is not satisfied with 78%.

Your comment about 1967 being after the six day war makes no sense. The six day war occured in 1967. Furthermore, Egypt's airforce didn't even get off the ground to even attack Israel. Israel attacked Egypt first. It's documented historically. The Egyptians had no chance with no airforce. That's common sense. If Egypt attacked first why didn't their airforce take off? The Camp David offer in 2000 was not really generous. The US media which is heavily for a right wing Israel with the exception of people like Ted Koppel, who is Jewish and has morals, has not shown the proper facts. Barak said at that time Israel would keep the border with Jordan and land at the border, huge settlement blocs that would bisect the West Bank in a large part of it and a tiny portion of East Jerusalem would go to Palestine. Sure, it was better than what was offer, not saying much.

Another question for you to ponder about is why they want statehood now. For example, From 1948-1967 the "palestinians" were fine living in Egypt's Gaza strip and Jordan's West Bank. They never demanded statehood, and didn't even refer to themselves as palestinian. It was only after 67, that a palestinian people became active. This brings up many questions.
