Some critics seem to dismiss her out of hand simply as a stunt singer - I think they are snobs- NOT ME. Why bash her for having exceptional high notes?

This performance has no super high notes.

I love the bright tone and there is a lovely legato. This is wonderfully musical singing.

I've just found it!.. I'm a cynical seventy-one year old retired singer (tenor) and thought there was nothing left worth listening to in this ugly world full of ugly people and their ugly music. This floating 'ghost voice' from the past is beautiful and brought a tear to these tough old eyes. Lanza's version was brill, Tauber's was fantastic,..but this...is superb. And yes, I have heard Mado Robin before and have LP's of her. Obviously I haven't been listening.
