This is an amazing knife. When you guys first came out with this blade, I wanted it. Now 2012, I finally hooked on to one! Great knife....only downside is the weight, but thats what you get for having a knife this big and strong. Do you guys have any plans to mill out the steel liners? It would help the weight a bit, with out significantly reducing strength. Over all amazing.
@TactiDude16 Thanks for choosing Cold Steel. There are no plans to change the Spartan that I know of. It is a hugely popular knife and we are very happy with it :)
@kleinesmaenchen We ship internationally and I believe we do have distributers in Germany. Please contact our customer services team. they will be able to advise you. thanks :)
comparing to other companies, and how popular cold steel is, why is there such a minuscule amount of products made? I would think cold steel would be leading in the amount of products being put on the market
@Fallen385 We make a huge range of products and we release more each year than many of our competitors combined. I think there's a lot more Cold Steel out there than you realize ;)
I am not doubting the strength of this blade, because I own one and it is a tank. But these tests. I don't quite get them. Stabbing chain mail isnt much of a feat since it was designed for slash protection. the flak jacket was meant for shrapnel, not piercing( much that bullet proof vests dont protect from knives) The magazine is impressive, but I think that sheet steel with the thickness shown would be more of a shock and awe marketing ploy. I love your blades dont get me wrong! tests though...
I have no doubt that the Tri-Ad lock is possibly the strongest lock in the world, but is there a particular reason why do you do different tests of weight for your folders? For example, I think the tests on the AK47 included 200 lbs, but this one included 300. Your large Espada was shown at 600 lbs. Is there any particular reason why you use different weights? Just curious.
@LotusLeaf88 The lock is the same but the handle and blade design also contribute to the strength of the overall knife. All of our knives are super strong, some are just even more super strong LOL
@csknives when i saw this knife i was amazed. a mini kopis that folds and fits into your pocket, very creative most unique knives like this are flea market crap but this isnt,i dont own one but ive held them many times and there awesome!
Cold Steel. 1 I carry the Mini Koga in my back right pocket, and the Brooklyn Crusher in my passenger seat. It is good non lethal peace of mind. 2 Who actually answers these? lol. Thank for you're awesome products, i love you. :D
@RENOGUY777 I'm glad you like our products. I work here at Cold Steel HQ but I don't give out my name. (I'm not Lynn if that's what you are asking) LOL
@csknives Nah i was just wondering. If you were Lynn that would be hardcore. O_o Speaking of the Koga i almost had to pull it on some D-bag in the Smiths parking lot today. Punk almost got a hurtin! I will come to HQ and run around asking who responds just to say hi hehe. :) Have a good day!
To CSKnives: I cannot find one of your videos on Rajah III . I am trying to decide between the Spartan and the Rajah III. Is there a video of testing available?
also good a cutting off your own finger tip. Yes I know :) but still I would buy that knife if I was you it does every thing in the video and is supper sharp
The funny thing is that none of the things they're stabbing here is designed to withstand stabbing. Chainmail and the german Splitterschutzweste (shrapnel protection vest) are extremely sensitive to stabbing.
if you're retarded---if you think pro wrestling is real---if you love monster trucks---if you think larry the cable guy's accent is real---if you live in a trailer---then this is the product for you
@Slic3R1 the british already used the abrv. by the time we invented the "pound" as a measure of weight so instead we used the latin version of the word libras or somthing for the abrv.
The 300 lb weight demo seems a little fishy. There are so many cuts between hanging the weight and its removal. There seems to be a hidden extension from the table to the side of the handle, from which the 300 lb weight is being hung.
@lesamourai777 allthough it may look fake its not i have seen it in person its insane i allways thought it was fake too and the extension you talk about , i take it you mentioned that because you saw him remove the wire from something, infact he is removing the steel wire from underneath the clip they use it to steady the weight
O THANK GOD THEY DEMONSTRATED IT ON CHAINMAIL.... I was really worried that this knife would be useless against those black knights i find on the street every night
@DorianArcher Actually, the impressive part about the demo's is the fact that when slamming it into crazy shit, your hand doesn't slide down onto the blade and cut your fingers half off. lol Great design!
That glove fo the last few tests wouldn't have done a damn thing! Hell one time I was being stupid with my X2 voyager and almost cut my finger off due to bounceback when I flicked it open. Never could replicate it: I think I was pressing on the release as it flipped open and didn't catch.
I've had one for awhile now, no play in the locking mechanism whatsoever, I just need to get it sharpened as there are a few nicks in the blade from abuse.
