  • A couple of scuffles? Nonononnono, more like asshole cops beating down on people and causing MORE civil unrest

  • never give up ows

  • goddamn hippies

  • Fuck you. You should really do some research on the movement because you would know that they are not a bunch of hippies and that unless you make over 10million dollars annually you fall into the category of the 99% and therefore you have the possibility of being affected by the injustices created by corporate greed

  • They are trying to be the tea party. The tea party is better organized, theres no police intervention, we are cleaner, and clean up after ourselves.

Occupy Wall Street just stop what you are doing. You will never be as powerful then the Tea Party.

  • @Monarchprincess011 "As powerful then the Tea Party" well you are a moron. This has nothing to do with parties and everything to do with the corruption and greed that is directly effecting 99% of the world.Something you know about but still have no clue as to what is going on.

  • @Monarchprincess011 yeah monarch? is that like monarch mind control? Fuck you tea partiers are just people, occupiers are just people, your just cointelpro, there is no infghiting between tea partiers and occupiers and if there is there shouldnt be, both are movements completely coopted, but it goes beyond that. this entire system will change once people are not divided politically or ideolgically

  • Good news for the OWC. Unemployment went down by 1/2% for November. If it keeps going down, then they will be able to get jobs and get back to work. This is great, they will soon be able to put those college degrees to work!

  • But what exactly is their message? We are lazy sacks of shit. We are lazy sacks of shit. We are lazy sacks of shit. Go pick some fucking grapefruits you legal aliens.

  • OWS- Goldman Sachs Atrositys to make money by manipulation of comoddities like rice, and livestock- poor countries starve..look up economic hitmen. big money in our politics. the fact we value- oil and profits over people. the tea party was from the top down, OWS starts from the ppl up! yes there are disenfranchised and poor among them, they are sure to feel it first. - pick a topic you are passionate about and start a working group to help solve some issues=go occupy in your own city and help.

  • Comment removed

  • Thankful for the 1% and their success that gives these lazy bitches iphones to communicate with at their silly little protests.

  • we need to get back to 10 commandments of God and the bill of rights(u s a ),this debt is a made up thing just to enslave us,wake up!

  • OWS is a great lesson for our youth. You have a choice. Earn your money and live in a nice house, or live in a tent on a sidewalk and complain about those who made thw wiser decision. OWS = LOSERS

  • @stkt1986 I think you need to do more research.

  • @hi262779 At your recommendation, I looked into it further, still came up with same result. Losers live in tents on the street and successful people are in nice houses. Let me check one more time and get back to you.

  • @stkt1986 If you're a fucking dumb ass who doesn't understand the basic outlines of democracy I suppose that's the lesson you get out of it. After 33 years of W.S. corrupting the federal government to deregulate there own market, give themselves criminal immunity and most recently merging with the public sector (which defines fascism) of New York, your gonna call people who are actually trying to voice your interests losers? I'm not even American and I care more then you do. Pathetic.

  • @mayhemnecrobutcher

WS corrupting the federal govt? It's a good thing you don't live here because you are clueless. Elected officials want to be corrupted, that's why they are in politics. Imagine 'the good 'ole boy senator from down south' and you get the picture.

Yep, they are losers because they don't vote to change the system. If you don't vote you can't complain because you never made an attempt to change things.

And we don't want Barry's change.

  • @alwaysopen Well if you want to get to the root of the issue, it has nothing to do with WS or the government. It all has to do with the laws or lack of laws that allow WS and the government to interact in a non-democratic way.

Btw what in the worldl does this have to do with voting? There is no election on whether or not to end corruption in congress. And the last law abiding person to have won the presidency got shot in the fucking face...

  • @mayhemnecrobutcher

Root. Who makes the laws? Legislators/government. They legislate on a manner that puts their interests before ours. They get PAID - not just for being elected; they are going to make out big time because one of their relatives is going to benefit or they become lobbyists if voted out.

How is this about voting? You better do some research about the US political system.

In what episode of 'The Twilight Zone' did a president get shot in the fucking face?

  • @stkt1986 I agree. America is the land of opportunity and you can achieve your dream through our capitalistic society. Although their is a downside to Capitalism - their will be winners and their will be losers. It's up to each individual to decide what they want to be. It's obvious what choice the OWC has made.

  • @leltard "That people"? Americans run Wall Street. And I do have somewhat of an idea how money is made. I am part of the 25%.

  • @oscarashes I can't find my comment, i assume it was a typo. Anyway, if you know how money is made...and you're still on the side of the banks and against the protests, then it is blatantly obvious you are just looking out of imperialistic interests. I'm sorry but i refuse to believe that you think this system is fair and good for everyone.

  • @oscarashes Oh wait i found it. By people I mean that someone somewhere is GUARANTEED to fail. Not that under their own fault they may fail...but guaranteed no matter what, simply because when the banks decide to stop printing more money, there is not enough in circulation to pay back interest, not even marginally.

  • @oscarashes Doubt that. Those that make real money don't go out of their way to make a point that they do. For one, you're not credible. At all. And two, nobody cares.

  • RESIST INJUSTICE!!!!

  • @al5mnd9trnksdr745bi

You nailed that one on the head and shoulders. People are stupid not to realize everything you say here is most likely true. Not one occupier thinks of the salary the POTUS or legislator gets, the benefits they receive or the assets those bottom feeders possess. The people who make up the government are part of the 1% - do you really think they care?

Obama receives $400K a year in salary and who knows what his benefits actually come in at. He owns a mansion in Chicago.

  • mysharona, its too bad your parents are not monitoring your online use. It would be a shame if they got a call about your violation of TOS.

  • AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH Michael Moore what a fat piece of SHIT!!! self obesessed bullshit artist.

  • @mysharona61 using the word 'cunt'? That's highly educated and proper of you.

  • Let us not be upset at the 1% for following a system long established by society in coming into power and control. Do you not see citizens what you have allowed/created by remaining ignorant for so long? A government controlled by the few is what you have allowed. Why is this such a surprise? I'm all for the change, but stop blaming others for wrongs we created.

  • Hi all you 1%! So here's the deal, you have worked hard for your fortune and kudos to you but there is no reason for you 1%'s and us 99% to sit down and really try to find a solution. Everyone needs a purpose and this the land of plenty so loosen your purse strings and help put this country back to work. This no one person or government's fault WE ALL did this to ourselves. Frankly I'm tired of all the belly aching, so please someone get off their ASS and let's start to really fix this issue

  • Maybe if they got a real degree instead of degrees in horticulture, or go for a masters degree and waist more money in student loans they wouldn't be bitching so much.

  • 99% against 1% how are we losing.

  • @alvado1211

When you try and use the very system, which various interests have warped and twisted over time to benefit themselves, to change the 'status quo' what progress do you expect to make? As soon as people realise that the whole system can come down like a house of cards, if they would choose to not roll over for it, the sooner we can set up something which holds us, the people, and our planet, as the benefactors.

  • @alvado1211 `

    Because you're Communist,anarchist,filthy,dirty,morons.

    That's how.

How do think we became 1%ers?

By flinging our feces at each other in some make-shift commune of losers and bottom feeders?

Jimmy Carter and the Dem. super controlled Congress of the 70's left a massive shithole of a mess for Reagan fix.

Reagan fixed the mess through the free market and lowering taxes.

The ObamaNig has made it worse, much worse by implementing his socialist lunacy and stealing trillions.

  • @mysharona61

how did you get your wealth? Most likely by stealing it. It makes sense, how could CEO's make millions or billions by doing honest work? Its impossible. I noticed you didn't blame Bush for anything.

  • @worldmayhem

"How did I get my wealth"

Just LIKE 87% of all Millionaires in America today, we are first generation, ie. we busted our asses to

    earn it.

Bush increased the size of Gov. 100% during his 8 years, and WE threw him and the Hastert Congress under the bus for it.

The ObamaNig has increased that deficit by 400% in less than three years.

Now, how else can I educate today?

  • @mysharona61

you didn't educate anyone. Let me educate you: Bush got us involved in 2 wars, and created a document that took away our freedoms. You say you busted your ass for money? You inherited the money, be honest about it.

Also, can you not be racist about the current president? Or did your grandpappy teach you to be a racist twat?

  • @worldmayhem

Does somebody have their panties in a wad?

What freedoms did Bush take away from you?

You ignorant little cunt, The Arab street attacked us and they are being punished for their crimes against humanity.

The ObamaNig is the one that got your precious little cunt involved in two new wars and w/o approval from Congress, Bush had 99% approvalmfrom Congress.

Sounds like you wear a paper hat or an industrial uniform to work.....loser.

Explain to us why the ObamaNig is not a nig?

  • @mysharona61

its called the Patriot Act, you child. Since you post nothing but personal insults and keep posting racist shit, I am done with you.

  • @worldmayhem

Reading comprehension is not very high on your list little fella.

    Let's try this again:

Try to focus WHAT freedoms have you lost, try to be specific and include all ajudicated or pending lawsuits supporting your "Chicken Little" theory

My Grandaddy was the same age as Dr. King and believed in the content of a mans character vs. the color of his skin.

Herman Cain is a real man with a 40 year track record of massive success, the ObamaNig is a pos nig from the hood in Chicago.

  • @mysharona61

keep acting like a punk and you'll find out what I can do, little fella. I do not wish to communicate with trailer trash like yourself.

  • @worldmayhem

Well, well, what have we here, yet another keyboard commando....

    What are the odds?

You gonna hit me with your purse Alice?

  • @mysharona61

why not come to TX and find out what I got?

  • @worldmayhem

    Come to Texas, LOL

Why, do you need help changing your tampon?

  • @mysharona61 We're the ones trying to stop Wall Street from their 33 year streak of corrupting the federal gov., through which they obtain communism and anarchy for themselves, but WE are somehow in support of all those things? Don't comfortable cause when corporate media can't contain the well of lies anymore and shit hits the fan, the top 0.1% are gonna be fucking you up the ass too. To them you're just a slightly more academic or lucky weasel among all the other weasels spinning their wheel.

  • @mysharona61 And for the record, tricked down economics has proven to fail. Show me anything the indicates a positive development from it's application and I will be shocked. But here's where your argument gets out of hand: even if Reagan somehow did have a successful presidency, Obama is far worst then Reagan was as far as deregulating the market and lowering taxes for the rich. Technically you should like Obama more then Reagan. And where do you think those trillions went? a charity? LOL!

  • The statist media just loves the OWS movement.... all I can say to Americans is that they're selling their birthrights away. The establishment does not care about you American people, they only want to control you. Big corporations have gone rogue because the government lets them. We have lost control of our system and our Republic. We are being ruled not served and we must limit the size and scope of the leviathan or face collapsing into a workers socialist democracy like the Europeans have.

  • (CPUSA) supports the protest

  • We are the 99

    Occupy the World.

    From Amsterdam. The Netherlands.

  • @Allahsucks100. When shit hits the fan for real and the people with shells want your pearls you'll find out who is the fittest.

  • Thank God I'm a male white college student that didn't have to pay for my school. My parents worked hard so I could enjoy SFSU. When I finish I will get my own job and I to will look down on the lazy kids I see begging for equality. We can't all have the same so we must chose who gets the pearls and who gets the shells. It's survived of the fittest as Darwin said.

  • @Allahsucks100 Some of those people out there have gotten higher education, master's degrees and it doesn't mean a damn thing if no one hires. stores would rather have 3 over-worked employees on shift each day then hire more people and spread the wealth because they are greedy. Your school and your parent's money will mostly, and sadly, be all in vain.

  • I'm never voting again.

  • Sir , Federal govt may be broke & in debt of a few trillions dollars. But our ruling class power elite Anglo-Americans owned banks & corporations have over a thousand trillions dollars in assets. 'A Revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained. A revolution is an insurrection, by which one class overthrows another'-[Mao].

  • @JaneSanFrancisco

Where do you stand in this revolution and - why?

  • the great sit in of the 60"s...REMEMBER??

  • YOU say what is their message...FINANCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUALITY for ALL

    THATS THE DAM MESSAGE!!!

  • @StarStarChild I'm barely a high school grad, been in prison, took along fuckin time to grow up. One day I put my big boy pants on, decided it was time to grow up, worked my ass off for several years. I now own my own truck, and fully support my wife and 3 kids with a good life. The message?? grow the fuck up, put you big person pants on, put in some work, even if you have to make the work yourself, and do for yourself.

  • @1rlockner

    Wow! You own a truck?!!!

Cab I rub your red hair for luck?

  • A liberal version of the Tea party movement?

    Sounds like it to me.

  • I love the posts by all these sheep here. The protesters are the ones to blame? Where did thesepeople get an education? Did they get an education? Thankfully there are those of us out here who refuse to be pacified by empty promises and who see the inequality that is so pervasive in our society. To all the sheep who condemn the heroic volunteers who speak the truth prepare for your fleecing. oh yeah and Baaaaahhhhhh!

  • @fallon1207

You will be fleeced by your legislators before you are by corporate America. Who do you think puts your legislators into office? Yep, corporate America. Legislators are merely hired fleecers and their masters are corporations. When you figure out the reality of how it works you might be wiser.

  • do yourself and everyone you love a favor. vote for ron paul 2012. End the madness. The Constitution was made for us.

  • @al5mnd9trnksdr745bi you occupy wall street people are REPUBLICANS? Wow, i was wondering why some of them looked like hobos.

  • Ron Paul for President.... PLEASE READ & PASS ON... He IS the LAST HOPE.

.by Tamara Lee Belleville-Marsden on Tuesday, 01 November 2011 at 09:45

PLEASE FOLLOW ME ON FACEBOOK... READ ABOUT THE TRUTHS AND VOTE FOR MR RON PAUL.. THE ONLY HOPE FOR AMERICA AND OUR CHILDRENS FUTURE... WAKE UP PEOPLE AND LEARN WHO IS RUNNING THE SHOW AND HOW CORRUPT THEY (THE ILLUMANTI) ARE!

  • @gypsyheart59baby illumant! wow! you occupy people are STRANGER then republicans!

  • @3550965345

Which party do you attach yourself to?

    The gay, liberal Democrats?

  • End the Fed! Vote Ron Paul!!

  • Boycott Wall Street!

  • I love the fact that NBC news doesn't mention the fact that these police officers were actually PAID BY WALL STREET close to 3 million dollars to push the protesters back with *extreme prejudice*. Don't believe me? google the news for the article. The news was released about it online and in a fine print in newspapers. No tv media has ever mentioned it.

  • @anakin11380 wall street does not pay the NYPD the city of new york does

  • @themunz126

1- did you know you can rent a cop for 37$ an hour? wall street does and they did.

2- JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, and more from wall street are paying these cops. Google "Financial Giants Put NYPD On Their Payroll" for more info.

3- on september 30, JP Morgan donated 4.6 million to the nypd.

need more sources? google "jp morgan donates nypd" or just "wall street paid nypd"

  • No actually the electoral college elects our president and lobbyist play a large role in what they do. It is a broken system do u remember the election whenever Al Gore ran against George Bush and Al won the popular vote? But of course Bush was put in to power because of our shitty electoral college system. And no I don't think al gore really would have made a difference in what is going on today in the U.s. But it is still interesting to ponder what would have Happened in the years of his rei

  • @RTVGaming Actually Bush was put in power at the time because his brother, Jeb Bush who was governor of Florida, had waited until the moment the recount was favoring Bush then ordered the counting to stop. Bush had exactly 537 votes more than Gore and Florida was never allowed to finish the count. Everybody got angry and in the end, the truth got buried by the media on tv and radio.

This is why you hear liberals sometimes say how the 2000 elections got hijacked.

  • @RTVGaming

Are you just learning this information? The electoral college has been bought for years. look back over time and watch how the vote went from rep to dem and back. I think it will go rep this time as the dems aren't doing well managing things. Carter was one and done for the same reason.

  • Why is it that so many people have difficulty understanding the desires behind the protests? Certainly, as with many organizations and political parties, there are people who attend because people they know are there and "it's cool". The people everyone should be concentrating on are the people who do know what's going on. Although protesters are requesting a lot from their government, they are not unreasonable. How can it be unreasonable to ask for a long-term job, medical care, and a future?

  • @Imaginem11 I agree with what they are doing there, but they are not in the right place or protesting the right people. Their argument is with the people who actually made this mess. Here is a hint, it started with Fanny and Freddie and everybody should own a house even if they couldn't afford one. So it was legislated. It all went downhill from there. Always the same players. It was forced upon the banks by legislation or else the banks would never had made the loans to begin with.

  • @Imaginem11

Who are they asking this from? Do they think bankers can simply throw open the doors to the vaults so the riff-raff can fill their greedy pockets to the point of bulging and be on their ways? That is what most of those interviewed will utter. Govt has to change before the economy will. Remember that Obama's 'CHANGE' deceived those who voted for him so you don't want that kind of change. Govt has to get out of banking so the free market can work again.

  • Their message is we want the money you have, and then call those with money greedy.... a bunch of morons gathered in one place.

  • @CWScott24 Actually, the message is "we want the opportunity to get a fucking job with a masters degree", dick.

  • @gehlhoff really, do you know who started this whole thing? a socialist group. dont tell me you have a masters in liberal arts dont you.

  • @CWScott24 Who cares who started it? The fact of the matter is, it's a relevant issue to a majority of this country. Our government allows these major companies' greed to over-power the peoples voices.

  • @gehlhoff really. these companies elect our officials? no people do.

  • @CWScott24 If you truly believe that people, not big companies, elect our officials then you're living in a fantasy land. Wake the freak up!!!!!

  • @SkyOne1111 and if you truly believe companies have a vote on election day then you should retake civics.

  • 1:16-1:17 "Alex"

  • Liberal version of the Tea Party? mother fucker this is the Rational Discontent Version of Reality...Liberalism & Conservatism were hijacked words that are meaningless in a real society. Fuck your labels.

  • @MaladaptiveCatalyst "...Liberalism & Conservatism were hijacked words that are meaningless in a real society. Fuck your labels." Well said!

  • 90% of these people couldn't tell you what a corporation is!

  • @scruffymeigs

    You mean 99%, correct?

  • Their message is against Corporate Greed...she said it and then she forgot it....hehehe

  • I still haven’t a clue why they are there, or what they are protesting – if protesting is indeed what they are attempting.

Worst organized moonbat protest gathering thingy ever!

Looks more and more like they are just morons with nothing better to do and that someone either told them or paid them to go. In essence, a cynically contrived political distraction, just like Herman Cain aptly suggested

  • boycott FOX ! stop watching! i did !

  • 'little scuffles with NYPD'? That is bullshit. The police treatment of PEACEFUL protesters has been vile.

  • @jeffersonsteelflex13 I heard they maced a bunch of people who weren't even doing anything.

  • @jeffersonsteelflex13 You guys should get out of the park. I want to take my daughter there without a bunch of lazy bums around.

  • @kopellhinex

You have no clue, do you? What is a druglord? Druglords are created when drugs are deemed illegal. Socialist leaders like to keep drugs illegal and kill those who are involved with them. Why do you think they are illegal?

When drugs are illegal a huge underground economy (black market) is formed to support demand and supply. The USA funds the global war on drugs yet supports pharmaceutical druglords.

Banks are a necessary evil. Where would you get money for a car or house?

  • Doing a great job protesting! My 401k and the dow jones is doing awesome because of you guys. I want to tip my hat to you all for making making my Apple stock split 3 times in the last 5 years. I LOVE capitalism!

  • To the 99%, us 99%ers will be protesting in Belfast this Friday at City Hall - 3:30PM - in case anyone else from Ireland is watching.

  • @marjut88

Of course that's too sophisticated for him..

He doesn't understand people that don't fit into the Democrat/Republican paradigm. Divide and conquer really worked on America.. for people like him anyways.

  • What a stupid protest you have people defending completely different things there, from socialists to libertarians. How does this help the "99%" ?

  • @seppsters

See.. people like you might not understand this. There's something known as the 'Exchange of ideas'' - debating one another basically.

If you're honestly so vacuous that you don't comprehend *why* it's intrinsically a good thing to get people from all over the Political spectrum to talk to each other and share their ideas, criticize each others ideas, comprimise with each other and work within the system to raise awareness and develop a coherent plan instead of blindly...

  • @seppsters

    Ctd.

...Subscribing to an idealogy like the Teabaggers, who are funded by Faux News anyways. People like that.. a group of idealogues who all parrot each other and yell fatuous anti-tax sloganry written by the Corporate sphere who want less Taxes, those are the people who achieve nothing. If it would honestly make you happier if every Occupier believed the same thing - then you're a fool with no real understand of how the World works or how Social change comes about.

  • @BelfastAtheist

I'm about 10 times smarter than you and I can spell, so don't get too full of yourself.

  • @seppsters

If you were, you would be debating me and not merely leaving vacuous comments like that.

  • @seppsters The protest is against wall street's corruption of the federal government and there immunity from criminality. It's not about any one political view, that's why it's so diverse.

  • @mayhemnecrobutcher

So it is basically a dumbshit free-for-all giving any dumbshit with an opinion an opportunity to air his/her stupidity? How is that diverse? It is a call for anarchy from what I have read, seen or heard from the 'protesters'. Anarchy is not a political view as far as I know.

Do the protesters want jobs, free stuff, an honest govt, a working economy or what?

"Or what?" has to be the catchphrase here. What exactly is it the OWS folks want?

Do they have a pamphlet of sorts?

  • @alwaysopen No they don't want free jobs or free anything. Many have sacrificed their jobs considering the importance of the problem. What they want is to address, reverse and prosecute the 33 year old corruption of the federal government and justice system by Wall Street. There are also a lot of ignored frauds, just like the Goldman Sacks one last year, but that's one of the many results of all the corruption. OWS basically wants a clean democracy and a functional free market.

  • @alwaysopen It's ironic because the things that OWS is being accused of by Wall Street propaganda and people who buy into it, such as yourself, are the very things that OWS are fighting against.

And no, they don't have pamphlets because "they" are not an organization. How ever, some groups within the movement have specific objectives and they of course have websites and pamphlets. My favorite group is Wolf Pac, who want to pass an amendment to get money out of politics.

  • america needs more brave people like this

  • Regarding what Dorian Warren said, this is NOT a demonstration regarding liberals. This has NOTHING to do with politics. This is about facts. If you are being screwed by the system, you should join in on the protests. If you are a 99%er that doesn't agree, you'll be screwed in time. If you're a 1%er, enjoy the fact that you own the media. EVERYONE should support your local demonstrations. Check it out online and participate.

  • @anonynaw

If you believe everything you read online you will believe I 69 your mom every time she makes a booty call.

    Tool!

What the real protest is about, for TEA party and Occupiers alike, is the way we are controlled by the government we put our trust into. You guys might want the government to care for you but the TEA party is 180 degrees away from that POV. We don't trust government while you do.

  • @alwaysopen Do you think that the Tea Party and Occupiers can come together to end the Federal Reserve?

  • @alwaysopen I'm a socialist. I don't appreciate the disrespect. Very ignorant. Regardless. To everyone out there, please do your absolute best to support your local protests in anyway you can. Make sure to take pictures and video. Do not break your local laws. Your number one ally CAN BE your local law enforcement as long as you treat them with respect. If they're hostile to you, make sure you've got video and post it.

  • @anonynaw

You are a socialist and want what? You want the USA to succumb to you and your comrade's wishes to become like Cuba or Argentina? Is Che Guerilla your personal Jesus?

Fuck you and your ignorant disrespect.

If you wanted respect from me you would have never used the 'S' word.

  • Argentina is socialist? Since when?

  • @Fridaey13txhOktober

Go back to the last century and learn the craziness that country has experienced. You would never want that to happen in the USA.

  • @alwaysopen [Democratic] Socialism or general socialism is nothing like communism. I find it saddening that people get them confused. It just shows an overall lack of intelligence. To explain in one sentence, in case anyone else is curious about democratic socialism, everyone would have the right to health care, shelter, retirement, work, food, and water.

@alwaysopen I don't need your respect. I as specially do not respect people who only have a four letter vocabulary.

  • @anonynaw

Socialism is the gateway drug to communism and both effectively eliminate free thinking individualism from society.

Bees and ants are perfect examples. If man was meant to live in hives we would already do so. The only individual in a hive is the queen.

Agenda 21 would have us all move to regions of the country to live in compacted neighborhoods or huge apartment high rises. We would travel in trains operated by and for the govt.

Do you only see through rose colored glasses?

  • Respond to this video...

    Phuque your respect.

Who is supposed to provide the funding for your socialism? Do you think you can milk the wealthy to pay for it? It is a known fact they are not the end all. What do you do when that well runs dry?

Answer - you revert back to a capitalist system wherein people can produce and barter for goods they need. You can't give everything to a community chest.

  • @alwaysopen Again, Democratic socialism is NOT communism. France and Germany are perfect examples of this. Similar countries are England and Canada. To become a president in the US you must be incredibly rich. Money should not be a factor in electing any leader. The banks of the US are corrupt as hell and are completely deregulated. In time, they will destroy the economy. The current US model is NOT working and changes are necessary. Leaders should be the most intelligent, not the richest.

For leaders to be intelligent the public must be as well as that is where those leaders rise from. We aren't filling the gap too well as a society because too many of us are dumb, fat and lazy. Worst of all, most of us are complacent; as long as TV/internet works and beer is available we are fucked.

We, the people, have to be intelligent enough to elect legislators to represent us in the manner we expect. If not, recall those fuckers and put someone else in - it can be done.

  • @alwaysopen I agree. I think it as an effect of bad US educational policy though, not because people just want to be lazy, uneducated and poor. If education were free (or subsidized somehow), everyone would have a better chance of success. The rich don't want that. OWS is a great opportunity to wake people up. If it doesn't succeed... I'm afraid of the future of the US. The utter destruction of the middle class will mean the end of the US.

  • @anonynaw

Where does the middle class lie financially in these troubled times? By that I mean, in what income bracket does the middle class fit?

There used to be 3 designations in the 60s-70s; 1. lower middle class, 2. middle class and 3. upper middle class.

I have no idea what is middle class and what is poverty.

$25K used to be lower middle class but that is now next to poverty. $75K -$100K was upper middle class but that is merely keeping one's head above water.

  • @alwaysopen Based on a four income household : 22.5k and below is lower class. 22.5k-62.5k Middle, 62.5k+ Upper. The crux of the issue is that the US census bureau created this model so long ago that it doesn't cover the costs that an average four person family incurs on a yearly basis. Also, the US census bureau is influenced by lobbyists for various reasons.
