  • man I dunno why but to me on 1:49 just sums up what band of brother's all about and its just beautiful

  • Major Dick Winters you will be missed. You were an inspiration to me as you were to your men. Dick Winters died January 5th. Not many know that.

  • watched the series on history channel few years back really badly want the dvds

  • "The Pacific" intro was better. Still great, though.

  • I can't understand WTF THERE'S a lot of IDIOTS NEONAZIS IN AMERICA ,THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS DIED FIGHTING THE NAZI GERMANY AND THESE BASTARDS disrespecting their own people

  • Man this intro gets you thinking about how every soldier in WWII gave up their lives to basically fight for freedom. When I mean everyone, I mean EVERYONE. Americans, The British, The Russians, The Polish, and etc.... Yes their are some Germans that should be remembered aswell. Like the German Officers who tried and failed to assassinate Hitler in Operation Valkyrie.

  • @UnchartedRocks25 Fuck you! My grandfather fought for the Germans, doesn't he owe any respect? I dont think every fucking German was a nazi, absolutely in Wehrmacht where they in the most divisions could speak freely how fucked up Hitler was! Even if my grandfather, according to you, fought on the wrong side he did it for something he believed in, and the war was as fucked up as on the American and the German side! Disrespectful fuck you are against all living soldiers!

  • @Morran09 Dude I didn't mean no disrespect. Read my comment again I said Every Soldier. I know that America had their bad ways to, like completely abandoning Europe after the war and becoming inactive, Letting the Soviet Union take over. Just read it at the end I said there are Germans that should be remembered aswell. When I mean everyone I ment EVERY soldier deserved respect. Think before you reply again.

  • @UnchartedRocks25 In my mind it only sounded like you salutet the guys who tried to kill Hitler, my apologies if you did not mean that.

  • @UnchartedRocks25 Russians fought for freedome dafuq? They have un-industrilaized land liek the moon. And were occupiand countries just liek nazi germany, Baltic States, Finland, Poland. German was not the ultimate Evil of the world. Genocide was managed by Ussr far before ww2

  • aLL HAIL GREAT AMERICANS

  • @yarbles67 Typical jarhead marine bull shit you are mouthing off, All those little marine campaigns in the Pacific were nothing ,compared the Normandy, the Battle of Bulge, Anzio, etc. As a former paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne I strongly resent your b.s. Marinee are far overrated. Paratroopers were and are a lot better trained than jarhead marines. Marines are a legend in their own minds. I saw a lot of marines fail at the jump school, because they froze at the door of an aircraft.

  • @DumbHonkie1 regardless, respect for every soldier

  • I dont think I'll ever be able to associate these actors with their real names before their character names after this series.

  • Its very rare that you come across heroes like this in history. Their love for each other is what bound them together to reach their full potential-- absolute sacrifice in the face of stopping, perhaps the most powerful evil ever to to exist on the planet.

  • best miniseries ever. *___* can't stop watchin it once I've started

Damian Lewis in one of his greatest roles! Thumbs up!

  • these were real men with honor.

  • Dang I always choke up when I hear this

  • Dang I always choke up when I hear this

  • I really don't get how some people can't like both this and the pacific.

  • me and my bro got this and the pacific in one pack. I've seen alot but not all of band of brothers and I haven't seen the pacific I can't wait to see all of it

  • Check out "The Brest Fortress." Russian made. Very well done. One of the best.

  • The pacific is shit compared to Band of Brothers. BoB is the best war drama miniseries

  • without a doubt the best war film/miniseries ever produced

  • my favorite moive every they should make it into a big war game

  • @wesleywigington they did on xbox 360 brothers in arms hell highway

  • @wesleywigington I think its honestly better off as it. Trying to cram all nine (or was it ten) episodes, each of which are over an hour long, into a 2-3 hour movie would hurt it severely.

  • This is my favorite war movie/series of all time.

  • "Currahee!"

  • I watch this intro every night. Just so I can remember the lives that were lost bring this country to what it is today. These men were not just soilders but heros.

  • my gram pa was in world war 2:( he killed people i can only imagine how much gilt he carries:(

  • The definitive TV drama about World War 2. I don't think we need to do any more.

  • There goes the onion again....

  • Band of Brothers had the better story. The Pacific had the better Soundtrack. now they need to do a Vietnam series with both

  • Explain to me why the U.S. was planning an invasion of the Pacific after V.E. Day. I actually do know about world war II. It is a fact that the U.S. had far more troops than every army except for the Russians. After the victory in Europe the soldiers that didn't have enough "points" to go home had to stay and train for the Pacific. Therefore, 9/10 the soldiers from Europe would have went to Japan's aid. Oh, and Japan didn't have the island surrounded in 1945. Good try though

  • @2121westmax What are you talking about. First off, at the beginning Germany had far more troops than US. Second, why shouldn't they planned the invasion? JAPAN WAS STILL IN THE WAR. I'm glad that they did drop the atom bomb instead of invading Japan..saved a lot of Japanese and American lives

  • @AfroGangsta10 No shit germany had more troops on the continent. Maybe cus there entire army whether training or not is on the European continent. When U.S. soldiers are training they are on the north american continent. And if you think we wouldn't have run over the germans youre wrong. Germany was completly surrounded, there were 3 fronts in 1945.

  • the pacific is better

  • @romsdabom1 thats complete bullshit

  • @2121westmax no its complete truth

  • @romsdabom1 no im pretty sure you're just stupid. The Pacific spent a whole episode showing some guy have sex with a girl. That wasn't his war experience.

  • @2121westmax if your talking about john basilone show some fucking respect if he didnt do what he did at Guadalcanal him and his men would of died the japs would of invaded Australia and USA would of lost the second world war so the only one who stupid is you for not noticing it

  • @romsdabom1 We wouldn't have lost. The european fighters would have eventually beaten Germany and came to aid in the Pacific. The U.S. would have had far more soldiers than the Japanese. Plus i never said that episode wasn't his experience. Just when HBO blew an episode by making it about his female friends

  • @2121westmax there you go again making shit up the european fighters at the time was up to there eyeballs in shit and they couldn't of called in more men the Japanese naval ships was surrounding the island do you know history because it sounds like your pulling things out of your ass and if the US had more men they would of called them in but they couldn't the japs owned all the island around it and read what im saying THHE JAPS WOULD OF INVADED AUSTRALIA AND OVER RUN IT.

  • @romsdabom1 Hey stupid fucker, why do you use the derogatory word "jap"? Don't you know they are our best ally in Asia? You sound like a dumb HONKIE cock sucker.

  • @romsdabom1 You sound like a stupid HONKIE mother fucker. Why do you use the derogatory term 'jap'? Don't you know Japan is our best ally in the Far East? Go home and suck black dicks, asshole.

  • we meet again 240p...

  • probably the best tv show every to air, and easily the best intro

  • @2121westmax best ever tv show ever that is it!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the greatest WW2 miniseries to ever exist!

  • i swear, this video makes me want to join the military. hope people dont forget heroes are found outside the military, including our troops, lets not forget the heroes at home, our firefighters, paramedics, and police officers, who risk there lives every day.

  • I can't believe that people can dislike this. How can you not appreciate this. Any fuck that disliked this is probably a "hardcore" JB fan. Easy Company is a company of heroes. Batman and Superman are not heroes. RIP EASY COMPANY.

  • The Sopranos, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, etc. - they seem like cheesy soap operas in comparison.

  • My Great-Granddad and both my Great-Granduncles were in WWII and survived. But unfortunatally, they had all passed on before I was old enough to remember them. (The last to go when I was 3) But one was a driver, one in a supply company, (and that one was the second best marksman in the entire European Theater, I shit you not!) and the last was in D-Day. Never knew 'em, but I'm certain their stories would've been like a toned down (as they weren't front-liners) version of this. Thank you.

  • @FrozenKoolAidDude My Great-Grandfather was in WWII too. But on a different story. My Great-Grandfather was with the Polish Resistance. But after a series of events. He ended up in Aushwitz, Only reason why he survived is because he knew many languages. So the Nazis made him a separator. He would spend the rest of the war in Aushwitz. My grandma says after the war he never talk about it. I never knew my grandfather either

  • @MrJammesss Cool, your grandpa was in the Polish Resistance?! I love anything Polish, as my family's Polish. (The ones I listed fought for America) And the ironic thing is, that half of my family left Poland (As well as Germany and Lithuania, they were a mix of them all) in the 1870s, and the other half left in 1938.

  • Take that, Call of Duty!

  • 1,090,000 yay :D

  • Recently got this on DVD and all I can say is WOW.

Absolutely stunning series from start to finish.

  • @CIW1985

should have watched the HD version mate, it's mind blowing.

  • To be honest, I wish I could have been part of something this important.. this incredible (pejorative). Truly a company of heroes. A company of men. If there's a God, he was on their side.

  • there is a god, and he definatley was on there side, GOD bless america!

  • @AmericanMan44 danm straight look at some of the things we accomplished d day if you looked at it on paper was immpossible especialle after everything that went wrong, i gurantee if it was any other country they couldnt have accomplished it, god bless America. God was on our side.

  • every veterans day i sit down and watch the hole thing...thank you all who fought for our country... especially those who died for it you are all heroes in my heart

  • I cried when i watched the ending of Band of Brothers, when Major Dick Winters said “ I stayed around Hershey Pennsylvania, finally founding a little farm, a peaceful corner of the world, where i live today, there is not a day that goes by, where there were men i served with who never got to experience the world without war” RIP Major Dick Winters, and RIP to all who died. We are beyond thankful for your brave actions and risking your life for our peace. You are all truly heroes. Restinpeace <3

  • this intro is so beautiful

  • 1:37 - 2:17 <3

  • I wish I had 1/10th of the courage these men had. Men or Women that have fought for their country are truly inspirational, and I can't not have so much respect for them

  • Comment removed

  • or a mini series on a German division would be very interesting and make people realize that they were normal people fighting for their country.

  • wish they had done the 7th armored division (the desert rats). that would have been much more epic

  • RIP maj winters

  • every night i fall asleep watching band of brothers, falling asleep to the memorys of the heros who had faught for us, falling asleep to the ones who died trying, and to the ones living now. always when i was points(episode10) final scene, a tear will always ccme, that tear be a proud memory to the boys, who i spent watching, these boys, are the band of brothers and forever shall be.

  • @1:16 Cesc Fabregas?

  • Comment removed

  • Hands down Band of Brothers was the best thing HBO has ever made

  • @president234 well duh lol

  • Comment removed

  • the best miniserie!!!

  • In the australian army cadets on the way too cortana for the 2011 AFX, my unit and another got too watch this on the way there and back, it was awsome!

  • i never skipped the intro when i watched band of brothers on DVD

  • The GREATEST generation society has ever produced. Grew up during the depression, fought a world war and built the USA into a super power.

  • algien sabe una serie parecida?? que no sea pacific

  • @darkstart182

la de Hijos del sol naciente

  • @erickardito10 grasias

  • i remember watching this series on channel 4 years ago ang bought the series later on on i ask my friends have you seen band of brothers there like no i dont know what i would do if i had never watch this each episode is better than saving private ryan its got the highest rating ive seen on imdb and it deserves it best series ever

  • 240p.... we meet again.

  • WOW i was brought here by the gears of war version of this

  • this music always makes me cry

  • please always remember the soldiers of ww2 they where the the real human heroes

  • un grand respect pour les hommes qui sans morts pour la France merci .

  • @Nickbol09 That's why I hate Inglorious Bastards because Soldiers do their duty for various reasons and when I see that UnterOffizier executed in that manner I think that could've been me.

  • They were Easy Company, but.... there was nothing easy about it.

  • @Slecker95 well said

  • omg theres something in my eyes

  • Requiem For A Solider

  • @Garrett901 thank you.

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song?

  • @siciliano80tino Requiem for a soldier

  • Back then, very few knew why they faught, and fewer today know why. But what they faught for was their home, their country, their family, but most of all, they faught for freedom against tyranny, they faught for what was right. Today, too many people forget what they've done for us and and all others who would have been affected by the brutal horror that was World War 2, but they sacrificed almost everything, including their life, to preserve freedom and save the world from an unimaginable hell.

  • They should totally make a new series but with the russian front, from stalingrad to berlin

  • Can anyone tell me why on any war film or documentary here on youtube you name it. There's always these trolls that feel its their duty to give "correct" accounts of how things really happen. Most of the time you click on their profile and they are 22 year old keyboard commandos trying to prove to people that they know more than actually military historians. Thumb up if youre sick of reading their trollish hate filled alternate history.

  • Best casting in this series. Best series.

  • For some reason, on or around my birthday, March 14, Spike always does a Band Of Brothers Marathon. I don't know why, its not a special date, but its a great Birthday Day present, I love this series.

  • 1:39...Chills.

  • Gives me chills...

  • These men and the men who fought in ww2 will always have a place in my heart.

  • I wish I got to know Richard Winters more. Now the only thing we wanted to ask him has to be solved by the things he left to this failing generation.

  • This touches far more emotional strings than the Pacific intro and themes. Which is not to say that they were bad, but these ones stir up something deep inside you, which just makes you shed a tear.

  • My Grandpa survived the war, and I remember nights where he'd wake up screaming. I'd ask him about the war, he'd tell me about RIchard Winters and Lynn "Buck" Compton and his brothers-in-arms. This movie inspired me, as well as my dad, to join the US Military. Well I will be joining it anyway. RIP RICHARD WINTERS <3

  • i really wanna watch this it looks simalar to the pacific

  • @xXkz007Xx it is...this is the pacific perspective..same producers and ALOT better than pacific

  • @doyouknowmeidont i already knew that and also know that it was ONE of his first tv series

  • This strikes me today. Requiem for a Soldier is as much for these men as it is for the heroes of Flight 93, the first responders killed in the collapse of the Twin Towers, and all who have died to protect this country now, then, and in the future. God bless our troops, and God bless America.

  • @bridget117 Lol don't just let god bless America.. god bless the world?

  • @berserker276 Americans only think of themselves. One reason why i hate most of them

  • @sniffman1 Not all Americans or "Yanks" think like that but I just find it annoying when they forget/leave out other countries who fought back then.

  • @berserker276 Yes i know, thats why i said "most of them"

  • @sniffman1 Please explain your reasoning as to how "Americans only think of themselves".

  • @jsquad31 If you read comments during the tsunami, you should know

  • @sniffman1 i take it your opinion is based off some of the few 'yanks' in america, everyone thinks for themselves its just a matter of how much and frankly it doesn't matter what nationality your are. theres selfish people everywhere and because you see selfish people from america, you think america is selfish, i wish there were less dumbshits in the world like you

  • Comment removed

  • the yanks only joined in ww2 to protect themselves .they didn't care about good vs evil - after the war they were loaded, but all the other allies returned to poverty..there are towns in england scotland and wales that had familys and blood lines ended, and god only knows the horror in europe..the americans didn't win the war - they were just there at the end..fuck the yanks and fuck the russians, italians ,croations and half the french

  • @iampunitan Ever heard of the Marshall Plan? Or the Berlin Airlift? ... Also, when you were busy fucking some of your allies, you left out the Nazis.

  • @iampunitan oh really? how many axis soldiers did your country defeat during the war? im from the US, but im pretty sure the Russians did a tad more than you and I both. so go learn your history and get off your high horse before you fall off. russians killed over 4 million axis solders, the allies(US, GB, france primarily)500,000? and thats in Europe. just to point out, the US killed another 600,000 Japanese soldiers in the Pacific.

  • @nap682 the goal of war is not to cause death but to prevent it, which means ending the war while causing the least amount of death as possible. u cant measure a countries success by how many human beings they've killed and the reality of war is that killing is a last resort after surrendering and negotiating has failed. killing will never be something u should be remotely proud of

  • @iampunitan Any new riot happenings?

  • @600joe no more riots going on now -thank fuck - but still loads of cleaning up to do..i hope the thieving cunts in prison now think it was worth it

  • THX US, Commonwelth and Russian Soldiers for Saving the World.

  • The whole BoB series is propaganda to make the american pigs look like heroes instead of showing all the looting, murder, and cruelty to civilians they spent most of their time doing.

  • HBO should make a miniseries about Mathi Schenk, who served in the Wehrmacht during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944.

  • fantastic, but the theme isn't as good as the pacific.

  • Why hasn't HBO done a miniseries about the Germans in WWII yet?

  • @Theakker3B Because they lost.

  • @AlexanderSurge That's an even better reason why they SHOULD make it.

  • @Theakker3B Yeah that makes sense; let the world see THEIR point of view. If you listen at the end of the last disc (if you own the set) "Shifty" talks about how any one of those German soldiers could've been his friend. "He might like to hunt, or he might like to fish. He's just doing his job, and I'm just doing mine."

  • @Theakker3B Sounds like it would be one hell of a tear jerker, but still an interesting point of view. :)

  • I'm RUSSIAN, but i can say that this is the best WW Movie i've ever seen! THE BEST SERIAL EVER MADE!

PS: Does THE PACIFIC as good as BoB?!

  • @AntonMAERS yes

  • @AntonMAERS The Pacific is gr8 but i think BOB is better

  • This series was staggering. I never really get emotional watching a TV but I got closer to tears with the passing of each episode.

  • @KangoTV That's very weird considering the whole BoB series is propaganda to make the american pigs look like heroes instead of showing all the looting, murder, and cruelty to civilians they spent most of their time doing.

  • @YappyRaccoon A bit late for propaganda isn't it? Most of these guys are long since dead.

  • @KangoTV Tell that to all morons who still rant about america being the 'rightest' nation on earth. This series takes advantage of the 1940s propaganda that low IQ americans still swear by. Stupidity and bigotry always go together.

  • @YappyRaccoon You're not making much sense. I have no links with America either.

  • @KangoTV I couldn't word it much simpler unless I imagine I'm talking to a retarded frog.

  • GOOOOOOOOOD VERYYYY GOOODDD, THE BEST OF BEST LOL I LOVE THIS

  • I hate this intro. I skip it every time I'm watching the series. I absolutely love the series, hate the song. Makes me want to choke myself when it comes on 10x as loud as the dialog.

  • And, Europe is free....

  • This song brings me to tears everytime I hear it. Knowing the sacrifice, courage, and valor it took for those men to do what they did. It dosent really help that both of my brothers are in Afganistan right now. And every time I see the faces in this video I see my brothers.

  • @jefro2020 so does the pacific

  • this has to be one of the greatest war movie series of all time, it shows the bond the soldiers had between each other and truly shows what they went through.

  • 'Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?' Grandpa said 'No… but I served in a company of heroes.'"

    Major Richard "Dick" Winters, Jan 21 1918 - Jan 2 2011

  • @Goonboy7777 Great quote and a great man. FYI though, that quote was actually from a passage from a letter Winters received from Sergeant Mike Ranney.

  • @Goonboy7777 ;(

  • @Goonboy7777 I literally cried my eyes out at the end when he said that. Truly outstanding series.

  • i never skipped the intro when i watched this on dvd

  • @Godsjudgement12 Me nethier. :D

  • The german people were as much of a victim as any other country, people were living in fear and opression and everyday people who in anyway showed the slightest bit of opposition to the Third Reich were being executed.

  • Thank you USA, Britain and Canada for liberating my country France. We will never forget you.

  • @SpyWizard2 FUCK USA , PIG

  • @cherkasi What did the USA ever do to you? they freed jews from concentration camps and saved lives, so dont say the USA are pigs when no one ever says what they did because your only saying that because other people say that!

  • @SpyWizard2 You guys helped us don't forget that. Well, some of you guys, if you know what I mean. Many souls put their lives on the line to pass the info on.

  • @Smibil67 Vous avez raison, les Américains ont sauvé la France

  • There is nothing good about war, but the reason why you fight it can be.

  • I think watching this series should be something shown in every school, one episode a month. Just to give the up coming generations a peek at what is actually meant when talking about WW2 and the men that were lost. Or for that, any war.

Though I fear parents would complain, imagine that? complaining about the students just WATCHING what the men went through. Says a lot about the price the men had to pay.

  • @TUNAdude13 im with u :D

  • *Checks Stats on video*

    No honors D:

  • the intro was the best theme song

  • I wouldn't say forced into the Army. Yes they were just like us in that they fought for their country and even those who survived gave up everything in order to serve their nation. In that respect we are alike.

  • I hate it wen i watch war films and i see captured german soldiers executed. They were not different from us, forced into there army by an evil leader who had brain washed there minds

  • Comment removed

  • @Nickbol09 during the Battle of the Bulge, a division of American soldiers surrendered to the Germans near Malmedy. the americans were sent to a big field along with other pow's. the germans then opened fire and executed 84 americans. this was known as the Malmedy massacre.

during the Vietnam War, a unit of American soldiers raped and murdered about 500 vietnamese women and children civilians. this was known as the My Lai Massacre.

basically, in every war, every army commits war crimes...

  • @idkwhat2puthere i kno, im jus saying it makes me sad when soldiers are exe
