I like this sculpture more than the other's i've looked at -- Parabola, and lots of the spinning gears. This one grows and shrinks and seems to change shape.. combines the dramatic linear motion in a radial way -- very nice.
@oEQjet It's too delicate for any practical purposes, but no worries as a piece of art. Prototype Mechanism #2 has the same mechanism design yet carries the frame easily. Cheers.
@professorpepper Thanks for the comments Nick, pleased that you enjoyed some of my works! Hope the Xmas tree doesn't cause you too much bother:) Have a great week, Brett.
That is awesome, It looks like each rod is on it's own layer and each is connected to the lower one down to the central shaft. Is this right? How long did it take you to make this?
@SuprCrispyBacon Thanks for your interest SCB. You are spot on, that is exactly how it works. From memory, I think it took about 3 weeks to put together. Glad you enjoyed it, cheers, Brett.
I am a kinetic artist and an engineer. I must have watched this video six times before I figured out how you made the center connection work without interference. Brilliant! This piece is mechanically innovative and a beautiful piece of art. Great job!
@kenkineticart Hi Ken, thanks for the compliment my friend! This one has left a few people scratching their heads! Glad you enjoyed it, cheers, Brett.
This is an inspired work! It's really beautiful and mesmerizing. :) I wonder what it's considered to be a prototype of. I love your art. :) Infinite stars! :)

It's the basic concept behind a radial engine, commonly used in airplanes. Pretty cool though.

This guy just figured out how to dose eight heroin junkies at once and keep them amused in the process. Kudos, my friend.

Is this piece delicate? Looks strong, but when you think about the construction. I assume it must be delicate.
