  • Very beautiful. Great aria. But the best version I've ever heard is Nicholas Spanos's.

  • @tamerlano236 His voice and technique are superb, but the quality of his voice is not on the same level as Ms. Forrester's. His beautiful but somewhat ordinary sound can't match hers for richness. He does have the advantage of modern sound and modern practice. (When this recording was made very little ornamentation was used in the repeats; that's the way Baroque music was sung in then).

  • @eyesk8er Thank you for your opinion. It's good to have different opinions. Otherwise this world would be a very boring place:-). You can find Forrester's voice richer. I find Spanos's sound more exquisite and sophisticated. Of course, they have different technique. But I wouldn't say that Spanos's sound and practice are more modern. I think that his ornamentations are the best ones, and very little, right in the baroque style and showing impeccable taste. In my opinion. Both versions are great.

  • Unfortunately she is very ill....

  • Wonderful! Miss Forrester is a singer of the highest quality!
