  • It's funny how it happens, McCain in 00', seems pretty cool and moderate, 08' panders to the looney rightwingers Mitt Romney in 2008...seems pretty moderate and reasonable....panders to the tea-partiers...anybody seeing patterns?

  • The way McCain slaps down Alan Keyes is absolutely fantastic.

  • In all seriousness why the hell is Alan Keyes lecturing George W. Bush and John McCain? I mean I hate George Bush but I'd take him over Alan Keyes every chance you gave me and same thing twice over goes for John McCain.

  • I love this John McCain. Man kicked ass and had no fear of whoever got in his way. Love that man at that time. And he ran over asshole Alan Keyes who absolutely had it coming.

  • Perfect example of how the corporate media chooses the candidates. Keyes dominated that clip, and yet all they can do is talk about McCain and Bush.

  • @historypoliticsbb Are you kidding? McCain spanked Keyes at the end for being an asshole. John dominated this clip

  • @rar9518 How exactly?

  • Bush getting interrupted constantly in 2000. Romney getting interrupted constantly in 2011. It's not polite to interrupt.

  • @MarkPatriots Is it politce to invade soveirgn countries? Don't pontificate about people being rude to that war-criminal

  • John mccain should have just let bush talk, i think Mccain was rude

  • mccain would have made a better candidate in 2000

  • The liberal media had destroyed the legacy of President Bush Jr. He is far better than the one we have now. By far.

  • 2012 is time for Ron Paul.

Get the circus clowns out of the Oval Office, please.

  • hahaha that black guy is amazing...waita be

  • States rights all the way...if texas wants to outlaw abortion....good. If Minnesota wants to legalize gay marriage.... great. Lets let the better ideas win....(in the long run, its almost always liberal says history....but i will never be pro choice)

  • WTF?!? I would have voted for McCain in 2000!!

  • @Kimmis1990

yeah, he used to be such a fucking badass. Just look at his whole life, he is a great American. Then he sold his soul and lost anyway

I cry at that, he should've won in 2000

  • I love Alan Keyes!

  • Alan Keyes is a fucking madman

  • back when mccain was sane.

  • I didn't know Alan Keyes ran then!!!

  • life is only precious before its born

  • alan keyes is right

  • 2 idiots. thank god we didnt elect these people 3 terms in a row

  • Believe it or not, the craziest person at that table wasn't Bush or John, it was that fucker in the middle, Alan Keyes lmao. That guy is FUCKING NUTS.

  • wow when mccain was actually sane.

  • I'm not a fan of McCain, but I totally agree with his lashing of Alan Keyes! Keyes disowns his own flesh and blood, because she is gay. He's always preaching about what Jesus Christ wants, but he fails to recognize that, the only time Jesus wept, was the time he was seperated from his FATHER!

  • Before he was president Bush was a great leader. He had a very straightforward approach towards issues. After he became president and the towers hit he had no choice but to have caved. Honestly, he handled the attack on us the best he could, it's the government who corrupted the US. And they just pinned it all on him. You can't blame everything on him.

  • @ccctripodccc

yeah he handled the attack well....he attacked the wrong country, lol. 2 trill later on both wars.........yeeeeeeeees?

  • McCain was much sharper in 2000.

He aged a great deal in 8 years.

  • Keyes' numbers in the polls were not even close to the numbers for Bush and McCain. He should not have even been involved in the debate. He only served to take time away from both McCain and Bush.

  • Bush didn't even win the presidential election

  • Alan Keyes 2012

  • Alan Keyes: 'Good lord I should be winning this election'

  • mccain should have been the president dammit!

  • it should not have been Bush

it should have been 8 years of mccain then keyes

    not bush then obama

  • Alan Keyes should of being elected president We'd actually have our first good black president.

  • McCain is such a sore loser. Keyes destroyed him in that clip and he got all pissed off because of it. His "I've seen killing" defense is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

  • Alan Keyes for president

  • A lot of people think that Gore stole that election. But they completely ignore the fact that Gore lost his home state (Tennessee). Had he won Tenn, he would have won the election with indifference to winning Florida. It's never happened when a candidate won an election, yet lost their homestate in that election.

  • bush: the WORST president ever..........

  • i believe every person has the life to live, if the parent doesnt want to care for it then i believe they should have the right for adoption... people should live no matter how other parties feel.

  • John McCain's shitty ace in the hole: "i went to war. i saw death. i don't need to counter your point".

  • they both suck and don't seem intelligent

  • abortion most always be made legal

  • I can't believe America elected this buffoon. I think McCain would have been a great President back then but not today. The country would be in better shape today if McCain was elected instead of Bush.

  • @dmm5073 We like McCain now, because of what we didn't know in 2000. McCain is great now, because of Bush's failure's then. To talk about 2000, as if 2000 knew of what was about to happen, is just as ignorant as what 2000 was.

  • description says bush is rude?....john's the rude one. has his opinion and wont listen to what the bush has to say. but dont get me wrong, i think they're both idiots

  • Bush sounded so intelligent back then. He was campaigning for a humble foreign policy, lower taxes, lower spending, pro-life, and pro-gun rights.

That was the George Bush I wanted back then. But David Gergen is such an asshole.

Ron Paul was right. Bush was campaigning for a humble foreign policy. Don't police the world, no nation building.

  • Nah, McCain was a way better candidate. Bush was not a blabbering idiot but he definetely seemed incompetent, and he turned out to be even worse than that. It's too bad such a great man like McCain never got to be president.

  • The neo-conservatives hijacked the GOP's foreign policy. McCain is a traitor to the GOP. We criticized Clinton for his interventionist foreign policy. That's why the GOP got elected to vote against Somalia and Bosnia and the Balkans.

Gergen and Stephanopoulos are CFR assholes.

When Bush Jr got elected he sounded so stupid.

Ron Paul was running on George Bush's foreign policy that he ran on back in 2000.

Just imagine if every GOP congressman voted the same way Paul did.

  • Bush pandered to the Neo-cons, he basically became one. His policy reflected and that is why Powell turned down coming back when he was re-elected.

Isolationism and Non-interventionism are as bad as Imperialism, just in a different way. You need someone capable to talk to enemies and foes alike, but still strong enough to be able to use force, and wise enough to know when and how much force is necessary. McCain was not a "traitor" to the GOP, he simply assimilated into what it became

  • I'm glad McCain didn't win. I want, let me change that...WE NEED Alan Keyes as President for 2012! McCain is fake. Bush is naive....Alan Keyes is BRILLIANT!

  • Your an idiot. McCain pandered to the entire Republican party in '08, trying to do what Bush did, and that required him to be fake. He was not fake in the '00 election.

  • @tubub I agree with you here. Don't you think it's sad how McCain has went all sell-out to try and save his political career in AZ?

  • Alan Keyes, Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo for President.

  • This makes me sick.

McCain is the worst of all three playing on pity and saying something that doesn't even come close to allowing him a more objective viewpoint on abortion.

"I've seen a lot of people killed in my life. boohoo. no abortion! BUT KILL THOSE GODDAMN IRANIANS!"

McCain didn't tell anyone to shut up. He had no argument. His intensity meant NOTHING because there was no real content to what he said.

  • ...i don't even think you know what your talking about.

  • McCain said nothing. There was no valuable content to what he said. All I heard was "give me pity. then agree with me." No logic.

    I don't know what YOU'RE talking about.

  • keyes is insane though everyone seems him as a radical which is why bush and obama beat him.

  • Never thought I'd say it but i am glad mccain told him to shut up basically.

  • eight/nine years can do a lot, McCain looks so much younger here!

  • The death penalty is not pro life therefore you cant classify either party as pro life. Thats a moral and personal issue.

  • Keyes is a great debater aswell.

  • Obama is a decent debater, but what really was the key to this perception is his great skill of public speaking, vivid vocabulary, and his chilled Posture. I love Obama and hope his presidency goes great, but he is not the greatest debater in the world. When it comes to objection and making rebuttle statements, he still needs work.

LOL, McCain brushed these losers. McCain used to be a Maverick. Now he seems like a shadow of his former self, and a copy of a stereotypical Republican.

  • Bush kicked McCain's ass in this debate.

  • it is very clear that both bush and mccain purposely dumbed themselves down to make conservatism appear to lack intelligence, in order to clear the way for obama's victory

  • WTF, happened to McCain? He use to be so strong during debates. What Happened?

  • well everyone looks like dumbass debating with obama

  • Other than looking chill, Obama is a very sub par debater.

Huckabee for example, would have torn Obama to shreds with wit and a smile.

  • He was a lot younger.

  • Mccain looks funny when smiles like that

  • wow McCain was a great speeker and debater he destroyed alan where was this guy when we needed him against obama

  • shouldn't we be concentrating on finding a way to lower the number of abortions in the country as opposed to continuing this whole 'is a fetus a human?' fight that's been going on for years?

  • regardless of what your politically ideology is, you have to be looking at the three people in this debate (not counting King) and be thinking

"one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong"

  • mccain should have gotten the nomination in 2000, we wouldn't have had a meandering trainable as president, and no iraq war...

  • Damn McCain has aged alot in 8 years

  • george bush is so mad.

  • rofl, Alan Keyes. When he was still mildly relevant.

  • McCain won that debate

  • I hate how the republican party believes that abortion is an issue that can be decided by the federal government. It's a personal issue, or a state issue at the very least. I don't want some old man in washington deciding the fate of my sperm.

  • yeah but the democrats also want to make it a federal issue too, their actually the biggest advocaters of it. plus ur a guy, u have less of a say about ur sperm then the woman whos gonna be carrying the life in her for 9 months

  • Exactly. The woman has the final say. It's like gay marriage. You don't like it, don't get one. An abortion should be the same way.

  • but its a constitutional argument. the constitution says the government is suposed to protect all american citizens, but at the same its people should have the liberty of doing whatever they chose to themselves...so it can go both ways.

  • looking at this from a realistic point of view...we're probably never gonna figure out the abortion issue

  • McCain looked like a real ass how he kept interrupting bush. and i know bush "seemd" rude when he told john to let him finish, but i do debate @ my school, and you have to do that.

  • they obviously hate each other!

  • The day the Republicans nominate a black man for the presidency is the day Jesus will come back. Lol it is funny to see keyes sitting there between Bush and McCain. How the fuck does he even stand a chance?

  • The GOP's best bet to appeal to minority voters would be to push candidates like Bobby Jinal, Michael Steele, and maybe one day George P. Bush. Of course they would probably have to wait a long, long, long time before they run another Bush.

  • Alan(black guy in the middle) is a classic boneheaded, disrespectful moron.

  • i like how john sneeks in some pithy remarks and smiles awhile bush is impatiently trying to respond. lol

  • John aged a lot

  • Why doesn't bush talk like this anymore?

  • exactly

  • because he lives in wahington

  • Ah the time before the "black child" robocall... Old Man McCain sold his soul now.

  • lol if obama wins i wonder if theyll nominate alan keys in 2012

  • What the fuck is Alan Keyes doing there?

    ...

Come to think of it, what is he doing anywhere

  • he was runing for president.

  • Bush as governor was very articulate and since then he is not good with his diction. What happened??? McCain was a lot better too being very firm on that issue of abortion. I have to agree with JRodB. 2000 = McCain & 2008 = Obama.

  • man thats alan keyes he ran against obama in the 2004 illinois senate race he is black conservative to the core i mean conservative he always runs for president just not these past 2 elections!

  • will someone PLEASE explain to me what debate this was? Who is the black gentleman in the middle??

  • It was for presidential nominee in 2000. The guy in the middle was Alan Keyes who was running. He ran as an independent this election.

  • jrod I mean you got it right on the ball! If mccain would have won in 2000 he would have been a good president because his ideas were much more different than his todays like his economic plan and the idea of invading iraq would never have been an issue

  • 2000 was McCain's time, not Bush's.

    2008 is Obama's time, not McCain's.

  • so are u democrat or republican?

  • I'm a democrat

  • so,so,so true

  • @JRodB

I also think McCain would have made a great president. But I have serious doubts that he would have been able to defeat Al Gore. Still, he is a man worthy of respect.

  • @JRodB 2008 should have been Ron Paul's time.

  • I remember this.

    Keyes pwned them both.

  • Former President Bush (wheww!) is a broken man in 2008...8 years ago he had the world at his feet, he got to office and let neo-conservatives dictate every issue to him, George Bush thank you for your service, I may not have agreed with you but, but just after 9/11 you handled it as well as anyone could have...you took advantage of the American public with Iraq, and you destroyed our economy and loaded us with debt with your policies, but god bless you and your family in the future. Obama-Biden!

  • wow...McCain destroyed them. Bush has become way more dumb, he seemed fluent and powerful in his speech then.

Still, McCain is an obviously talented debater and speaker.

  • Watch some of Bush's speeches from the mid '90s. He was actually a really good speaker then. I don't know what the hell happened to him after he became president.

  • Obama is worst than both Bush and Clinton combined!

WW3/NWO/The fall of the USA will come with Obama

  • you are an idiot

  • What happened to McCain?

    : (

  • He's got to appeal to the base.

    Sad really. =/

  • Mccain... what a hypocrit motherfucker he is!! IMO it is a cowardly act to take shelter in a remark about his personal life in order to avoid having to react on the statement that was made about this issue! Well listen up JOHN! What YOUR daughter is to YOU is what everyone's daughter is to everybody! Clearly it makes you mad... well... that's how somebody feels when this very very last choice is owned by the government too!

  • Alan Keyes is scary, we're lucky that most GOPers would never support a black candidate, because this guy,Alan Keyes, is an even more of a religious fanatic than Sarah Palin and George Bush combined. McCain here appears more hypocrite than Bush, trying to get indy votes by being dishonest about his real positions. The GOP should be kept away from DC for at least 24 years.

  • mccain: "do not bring my daughter into it. it's a family decision."

but it shouldn't be a family decision for any other americans. thats a huge contradiction if i have ever heard one.

  • BRAVO for posting this!!!!!
