@ gramaphone With all due respect to Brian Wilson, This piece is pure NRBQ and not derivative of Brian and Van Dyke Parks. They got their very own thing!
"Pet Sounds," indeed. When I first heard this song a couple of days ago, I actually thought, and very much hoped, this was a later Brian Wilson composition/arrangement/production, proving the man could still make music to make the angels weep. In fact, along with Tears For Fears' "Brian Wilson Said" and REM's "At My Most Beautiful," this offering by NRBQ is among the finest songs emulating Wilson's wondrous genius.
Joey just makes me want to sing along with him...... It was such a great run boys! I am sorry it had to end. I will miss all of you. Especially Al.....
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! This was the first NRBQ song I ever heard, and I was absolutely hooked the moment it came on the radio.
I love this album, it's my favorite holiday tradition. Reminds me of coming home from Grandma's on Christmas eve as a kid; looking at the lights, watching the snow. I'm glad this song is on Youtube so I can share it with my Q-deprived friends!
