  • xoxo. i hope your ok, that sucks.

  • Comment removed

  • my budgie passed away today in my moms hands :''''''( i cried for more then an hour, im sorry for ur loss i know how it feels like

  • um his legs are moveing and his eyes are blinking

  • @kamikoo24 Moments before she died.... Please read the into. Even avian vets have told me that the image shows a bird in distress. Notice her feet.... paralyzed and cold.... heavy breathing.... slow blinking.... All signs of pending death....

To this day, years later.... I find it very difficult to watch this video that I posted.

  • @SRSchoner I am so sorry about your beloved Phoebe. It is soooo hard when you lose a loved pet that you have cared for for so long. You have my condolences. HUGZ

  • my Kai died today i have been crying alot he died inbetween my hands and hes last movement was trying to fly up but he did fly but then falld back to my hands and died but i know he didnt stop fly he kept flying in heaven , i just went 2 hours ago to the wood and hes there now rest in peace i love you kai im still crying kai :((( i love you kai

  • the birds eyes are blinking he is faking

  • @puppet97 Read the intro.... I really wish my bird was faking.... She died in my hands moments, mere seconds after this video was made... Notice her breathing, her cramped feet... The other eye was clouded with internal blood. The only consolation I have is that she was my companion bird during the time when I was recovering from a serous life threatening condition. She was my friend, and years later I miss her, and have her ashes, some feathers to this very day.

  • @SRSchoner well how did she die then u didnt take good care of her or she was old ??

  • @puppet97 She was 9 maybe 10 years old. What I noticed first that that she could not fly and there was one very dark almost black clump of feathers on one wing. She would not let me inspect it. I now suspect that she had dancer and also a respiratory problem caused by printer toner. I worked at a facility that re-made printer cartridges and that dust came home with me. The lesson I learned in this is KEEP YOUR BIRDS AWAY FROM YOUR LASER PRINTERS! Don't chance it!

  • @SRSchoner what is a laser printer ? wher it prints by lasers??/ im sorry for your lost

  • i know how it feels losing a special pet. be comforted in knowing that you have closure. my bird flew away last year and i have no way of knowing if he's still alive or not

  • @snizzlefrazzy Sad to hear of your bird flying away. Birds raised in captivity do not have the skills to survive the wild. But some can such as Quaker parakeets. They are spreading like wildfire in places as far as NY. Rule of thumb though is protect your birds by clipping their wings. Phoebe was never trimmed, but could fly, if she wanted to. And when she did she would fly across the room to be on my shoulder. Years later, now, I still miss her, but have her ashes, some feathers.

  • my bird died the day before easter i was at my moms house (my mom and dad broke up they were never married) and when i went back to dads my dad said fruit loop my (bird) was puffed up and still sleeping at six thats usally when we wake up he thought he was just tired cuz we play with him alot so he let him sleep but when dad got hoe from work fruitloop was laying down on the bottom of the cage upside down and we buryed him R.I.P. fruitloop i love you and everyday i wish u were here with me

  • My two parakeets were killed this morning, my two cats knocked the cage over and broke their necks. I dont know what to do. Please give me some advice. I found tweety under the cage, and petey behind my bed shelf..

  • @LainieLooo I had a yellow parakeet killed by a cat that was my wife's (I don't like cats...since that one died we have not replaced that one). Birds and cats do not go together (unless your bird is big enough to put a cat in a corner.). Other than that I don't know what more to advise you on.

  • :'( this made me cry Dx

  • Im sooo sorry for your lost ;( i starting crying so hard when i saw him or her just close his eyes and you said goodbye i blawed i have 5 cocktails if i lost one of them i would hold them in my hand and be there with them ;(

  • im buying one..I hope it dies from bng old

it will be sad 2 do

  • @2diegoxx And the best way to do that is be sure to get them off of seeds. Use pellets such as Zupreem, or Pretty Bird Natural Goid. Give them fruit and veges often, Keep them away from toxins such as laser printers that leak toner dust. Rid your home of all no-stick pans as the teflon releases toxins that can kill birds outright.

Do these things and more and you birds will live long full lives, always being mindful that companion birds require more attention than other pets.

  • i.m sorry about Phoebe. And to everyone else who has ever lost a companion bird. They are amazing friends and will always be loved by us when they are long gone. I hope you all find peace.

  • I too lost my lutino lovebird, Sunny two days ago. She died seven months after her mate of 13 years died last December. The grief is comforted in the knowledge that their lives did not really end. They are reunited now. One day it will be my turn to see them again. That is my comfort that lessens the grief.

  • I just saw your video for the first time. I had a pair of lovebirds for 15 years

  • The same just happened to me. Never will I forget her.

  • My only bird, which my family had before I was born, died just yesterday on the way to the vet.

  • .... :'( I cried too while i was watching this video...

I was thinking of my lovebird... I miss her so much..

  • my bird died last night

  • My earliest memory was when I was about four and I accidentally caught my budgie's mid-flight in the door and crushed his neck. He died in my mum's hands and the guilt almost killed me too. I totally get how that feels :(

  • I am crying so much watching this. I have an 11 year old lovebird that I have had since I was a little girl and he has traveled across the United States with me. He even tries to regurgitate food for me. I'm so scared of when that time comes for him, it keeps me up every night. I thought that I didn't want to witness his death but after watching you and your beautiful bird I know I need to be there with him so he isn't afraid. Thank you for posting this.

  • I almost cried watching this I'm extremely sorry about your loss D:

  • As humans we cant help but feel obligated to give luxurious lives of garunteed happiness to these animals who could unkowingly have a sad end to their existance. Stuff like this really changes my opinion on judging from the outside

  • 12 people are heartless, and 2 of my birds died, I dug them. I just planted them to be well, but they died due to too much stress.

  • awww :/ It made me cry <3

  • im so sorry im just about to cry thats what happened to my bird puff now i miss her i wish she was alive we buried her in the front yard. she died when we got to school i saw her grave and i was crying so hard. that was my bestest friend in the whole world more than any bird.

  • at least Phoebe is in dat bird cage in da sky. i am so srry 4 ur loss, man. i had a parakeet who died bcuz my dead cat, Shadow, killed him. again, i am srry 4 ur loss. i pray dat she will b taken care of

  • Im so sad, my bird LemonDrop died today, even though its hard on me, its even more hard on my other bird Sunshine, he doesn't know whats going on hes been really bummed, but thank goodness hes been eating and drinking, this has been Sunshines 2nd loss, about almost 2 years ago i had another bird named BlueBell sadly she died, Sunshine wasn't to fund of her though, but then i got LemonDrop and he really liked her. :/ I hope he will be ok.

  • @iloveeveryanimal1 Many birds are monogamous, and when their mate dies they go through the loss in ways that are similar to what we humans go through. Sometimes though their grief is so great that the surviving member also passes away. Give the bird a lot of loving attention. Make sure that it eats, The next weeks will be hard ones.

  • I'm already sorry for my other comment i hope you deleted it because i can't find it, because i wanted to delete it, i am sure your parrot was one of your best friends...because like you parrots are for me my friends :), my birthday is 11th June...I hope i will get a parakeet...Each time i lose a bird i get another one..I love them!!And they are helpful!!!

  • @AlexMangekyo Straightened it out, all is OK. Parkeets are neat birds. Phoebe was described as a "Plum Head Parrot" but actually she was a Plum Head Parakeet. (Psittacula cyanocephala) widespread through out India, Ceylon and the parts of Asia. The males are very colorful and are talkers. The plain Plum Head female less so. These birds are extremely smart and males can learn many cognition tasks, so called "tricks."

  • It's so rare to see someone who loves their pets so much! I almost cried when I found my goldfish of 6 years bottomed-up in the heat of summer. It never knew any tricks, but it was like my little brother.

  • Brother, I realize your best friend died some time ago. I thought I was alone when I recently grieved over my lovebird passing away. For several days I didn't think I could ever stop grieving losing him. I had PJ 4 about 10 years. I'm a big man and he was a very small parrot with a huge personality. Before I got PJ I had no idea that I could love and little animal like him. Boy, was I wrong! I hope you have found another little bird to at least somewhat fill the hole in your heart. I did

  • @doinkusamongus It has been three years since she left me. But she is still in my heart. I grieve when I look at her urn, feathers, and parts of her last meal.. They never leave us. I have since adopted Scooby a Quaker that had a hard life. He was such a good bird, very smart, a talker. Had diabetes and after a year he died as I held him on my chest. I cried for him just as much as Phoebe. I adopted two others, a Umbrella and a Goffin. My love for birds never ends. It hurts when they go...

  • @SRSchoner Thank you for replying to my post. For a long time I couldn't understand why so many people say that they suffer so when one of their little friends die. There is something very special about relating to a bird. I think I know why now. They have wings and love just like the Angels. I still have PJ's wife, Polly. She's pretty crippled up in her hips but you know what? I wouldn't take a solid Troy ounce of the finest gold for her. She is more precious than fine gold. Very true!

  • @SRSchoner god bless, brother. u & me have something in common. we luv birds, we hate it wen they die, & we have had birds (even tho u still have da 2 cockatoos, that or maybe not, but, anyway) have a great day

  • I gotta say, i thought this were just some trick and a fake, but then it just got weird when i realized this wasn't fun at all!

  • I kind of thought you were overreacting at first, like it was just a bird, but, then, I read part of the description and it said you'd had your bird 10 years and that made me so sad :(:( My dog, Shadow, died last year at age twelve and I was just like you are in this video. I am so sorry.

  • My baby K.C. died awhile back, I remember holding him in my hands. He just lied there dieing, but he was my baby. I'll never forget him, and I understand your pain. Nothing can replace that special babe, but atleast thier in a better place now right?

  • This is sooo sad, my mom owned birds and they are very good companions. They sing and pray with you.

  • wow you are so sad its okay

  • MY parrot died todaÿ :( I Loved him so much....why is this world so unfair?....Love u rocky :((

  • @dominiksmolka I have had many pets, cats, a dog, and when they passed on I felt badly.... But with birds... Their passing tears me up. I don't know why it is so... Maybe because they are so dependant on us, and also that they are much, much more intelligent than cats and dogs. It has been proven that most birds are as smart as 2 to 5 year old humans. Sad that most people that have never had birds cannot see it as we that love birds do. Still that said, all pets should hit our hearts.

  • @SRSchoner

I also have many pets...but birds were like my fav ones...but i have had 2 birds...both died earlier then they were supposed to...and it hurts me so much i was thinking about buying a jako bird but what if he died again i quess i dont wanna go over it again...

  • Our sweet bird died one month ago. I could only watch a few seconds of your video because I started to cry. We did exactly the same, we held her until she was gone. We buried her in a grave in our backyard with beautiful rocks to mark her place. We lit a candle in her honor last night as the one month mark. Our second bird definitely misses her. We are spending extra time with her to try to compensate for the loss. We miss her energy, our home is quieter and feels less like home without her.

  • im so sorry for your loss i can see the bond that you and phobe have together by this short video a bond no one not even your wife will understand i too have a 3 year old cocktail her name is kuku and when i come home she sees my car in the window and greets me i love her so much this video brought me bawling to tears because i know one day kukus time will come too i just hope she can also die in my arms like your phoebe i see she was looking at you saying her goodbyes RIP phoebe :(

  • You made me cry so much when I watched this. I understand exactly how you felt. My male cockatiel ("cookie") was dying in my hands in '08... he was sick for weeks, but we couldn't do anything... I kept holding him against me and cradling him... he was a rescue, he was a very aggressive cockatiel, and I accidentally tamed him, and he loved me so much... He would regurgitate for me (true love) and he would follow e around, chirping. RIP Phoebe. What a sweet bird.

  • my bird died today i m crying to much i loved him n he loved me wen he go dirrarea he started shivering i put him in a blanket thn took him downstairs and came up he was trying to move i put him down he looked at me and died oin my hands i love him to much i cry all the time :( [

  • She knew you loved her... *I* know you loved her, too. I know it's been some time since she passed, but I still wanted to reach out to a pet owner that I can tell is as passionate about his feathered companion as I am for my felines. For you to hold Phoebe and your love for her up for us all is an incredibly brave thing. ::HUG::

  • One of my birds died this morning her name was blondie :( i'll miss you girl

  • i looked this up because i have 2 birds and when i woke up this morning one of them died. i was sad but even more sad that my other bird is gonna be alone so i wanted to know if birds feel? Does a bird get sad when it looses a friend? well they were more than friends cuz they got it on a couple of times but does its friend dyeing depress it? well i dont want it to be alone so im going to give it away to some lady that has a couple of birds so mine doesnt feel so lonely. im going to mis em though

  • @538gerardo538 If perchance they were mated, in the same cage, The surviving one could become depressed. It is not uncommon that they die soon after. But they can also become mean. My adopted bird a male Quaker "Scooby" was very mean after losing its assumed mate. It took near six months to tame him, and I still have the scars on my hands and arms to this day. After working with him I gained his trust. He was an old bird, and died recently, and like Phoebe, I wept after the loss.

  • @SRSchoner well they were little birds so they never liked being touched they went to the opposite side of the cage when i tried to touch them. So far it looks like the bird is ok but i cant talk to him so i wouldnt know how he feels so yea im giving him to a new family so he wont be alone in his cage. Thanks man

  • its not died look at 1:40 its blink's

  • @THEDRJiGsAw PLEASE READ THE INTRO FIRST. Phoebe WAS in her death throws as this video was taken. She expired seconds after it ended. Anyone that has a bird or any pet die as they held them will know how emotional it can be. Phoebe was cremated and I have her ashes to this day.

  • I just wanted to say that I saw this video and sobbed for almost an hour. We have 7 birds and 6 guinea pigs, three hamsters and a turtle. I love them all dearly and I've lost a guinea pig in the past -- I remember holding him when we put him down and how much it hurt. Birds are so smart and loving and I can only imagine how this hurt you and how difficult it was for you. I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm sure that Phoebe is on the other side waiting for you, with cheeps of joy and love.

  • @IBPPinkPenguin Hurts even to this day, 2 years after. I lost Scooby my adopted diabetic Quaker. He died on Jan 23, 2010, at 6:00 AM as I held him to my chest. I have his ashes as well as Phoebe's. And when I look at them, tears still come to my eyes. Birds really bond to us, and as one that adopts them from others that for whatever reasons can't care for them, I love them dearly. Raised by humans, they can never be released in to the wild, and they deserve a life, the best life we can give.

  • I cried so hard at this. People don't understand that birds have emotions, and they grieve and love too. I lost my cockatiel a few years ago, it was horrible. I still cry every now and then for him. <3

  • Sorry for you man, i know how you feel, my lovebird is dying i know it, but there is nothing i can do.

I know i hav given it best 2 years of its life, it was in another home with its mate, i got both of them 2 years ago as they could not care for it. I am trying to make it as comfortable as possible in its last few days, i gues my birds are atleast 6 years old.

  • @gauthamchelsealegend Sometimes they can turn around with some changes in diet or medicine. I am a user of "Nutribiotic" grapefruit seed extract (GSE). It is natural, kills all harmful bacterial and viruses. They even make nasal spray for human use that is amazing. It stops flu colds dead, before they start. I use two to three drops per 10ox of water daily to keep the microbes at bay in my birds water. If they show any signs of sickness I increase the number of drops per 10 oz to four.

  • @cockjokees, I have seen this and heard of others experiencing it. When I was just 11 years old, 49 years ago, I had a sparrow that I raised, but it was crippled, and could not fly away. Another wild sparrow mated with it. I would put him out in our walled yard to forage, and she would swoop in to be with him. When he died I watched that female sparrow sit in the yard night and day and morn for him. She died, too. Birds do feel love, they do have emotions. So sorry for your two losses

  • @cockjoke That is too bad, very sorry to hear of your loss. Bleeding from the mouth? Could have been a hemorrhage. My bird Phoebe the day she died, her left eye had developed an internal blood clot, and she was virtually blind in that eye. I knew then, from all my experience with birds, that she was dying. They go so fast, because birds by nature hide their illness. And when it becomes apparent, it is usually too late to do anything.

And that is why losing a bird hurts so bad.

  • i had a bird be killed by my cat in the middle of the night and since i have a loft bed and couldnt get to him quick enough. i cried for a month and was soo depressed because i put all my time and love to train him all summer and than he died:((

  • @123africangrey Was it an African grey? Very intelligent birds. Very sorry to hear of your loss.

  • @SRSchoner no acually it was a budgie im getting a baby african grey in febuary though:) anyyway u can love a bird as mucj as a dog and cat anytime PS im srry about phoebe its a veryy pretty bird

  • @123africangrey Be mindful of the cat. Once they get the taste of birds, almost impossible to stop them. An African Gray will put up a fight, but still fall prey to a cat. Then again, an aggressive Grey might just scare the hell out of a cat..

  • @SRSchoner ya and some people said under supervision to introduce them to each other and get them used to each other

  • i saw his eyyes blinking omg!

  • @123africangrey Yes you did. Phoebe died mere seconds after this video ended. Usually when birds are in good health their blinks are so rapid that they are barely noticed. But when they are ill every thing slows down. But her breathing was labored, her feet clenched, in paralysis. It was sad to have this happen, as her life was so short. Should have lived 20 to 25 years... only 9.

  • @theovenglove6 Ahhhh.... I see.... And you are a human?

  • This is so sad :( i know how you feel my parrot (Sarah) just died this morning , i was so attached to her..

  • @WalkTroughs mine died this christmas morning

  • I SAW IT BLINK :O

  • @Musiclover1ooo Please read the introduction. Briefly stating it again. My bird died in my hands mere seconds after my wife could bear it no more and turned off the camera. It was awful to have Phoebe die in my hands. She was crippled by then and could no longer perch, her feet paralyzed, her eyes slowly blinking. Anyone that has bird companions will know just from the way Phoebe was at that time, she was dying. My only consolation was that she did not die alone, on the cage floor.

  • man i feel you i cried my ass off just watching this i lost my cockatiel after a year and i still miss her i miss everything the calls when she heard the key when i unlocked the door everything we did together even if it was for a year now i got another cockatiel and she does the same things i tought my other one i dont know what im gonna do if this one goes too im sorry i know how you feel

  • Please, let us be civil... no profanity goes a long way in making a point. Best to all on this Christmas day.

  • you guys need to learn how attached to a bird you can get. :/ i lost my bird last night and im still crying my eyes out like him. I was so attached to my bird that my mom even accepted her as a family member. So fuck off and let him grieve for his companion

  • Sorry to hear of your loss especially on Christmas Eve : ( Know this your bird was loved and knew it. Ornithologists state that some birds, especially parrots, have the intelligence of 2 to 5 year old humans. And they can say "I love you" and mean it. I firmly believe that our companion birds and all our companion pets were given to us by God, and that we will see them again when our time comes and we too pass on. I know this, I had an NDE and saw a cat that I once had.

  • @erinh1265 i know how it feels, my bird probably died right before yours, on christmas morning. DEC 26, 2010.

    mojave, we all miss you.

  • Oh Honey, I'm so sorry about Phoebe. You'll meet her again..and she'll fly to your shoulder and give you a kiss on your cheek. I love that your heart is so big. I'm certain Phoebe had a wonderful life with you!!!

  • oops i am so sorry i just realized he is a SHE. forgive me on that :( i feel so stupid now lol

  • i had to do this 4 times, with my parakeets, i hate getting attached so easily but when you raise them and see them everyday, they are like family. i had them for about 7 years so its not like i can just forget about it and this was like 6 years ago and i still miss them. im so sorry for your loss. :( im sure he knows you love him and you took the best care of him. it broke my heart watching this video, but i could tell you really did care for him.

  • BAHAAAAAAAAAAHAH , BAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAAHHAA, a grown man crying about a dead bird... what a fucking child. And a christian to boot... no respect for this fairy faggot.

  • @lexmark136 With reservation I have approved this one. Out of hundreds of replies this is similar to only 8, but it is the harshest of them. This man needs help, from a psych or from God. Absolutely insensitive, and with a cold heart, quick to judge calling me names ("fairy faggot") that do not apply. What more can I say about this man, as his words tell all. God help his mind and immortal soul, that one day he will see the light.

  • @SRSchoner Ignore him, he's just a hick with nothing to do but shoot things and troll strangers over the internet.

I'm very sorry for your loss and my own cockateil of 11 years died two months ago. I cried watching this.

  • @SRSchoner im srry that u lost ur bird i had the same thing happen to my 20 yr old cat March 1st 2009 my dad went down to feed the cats and he was doing ok for 5 seconds and then he was dying do i was freaking out crying he died at 11:27 PM it took over 3 hrs :(

But im ok now because i know that he is in a better place ^_^

  • @SRSchoner good for you SRSchoner! Bird folks like us know something jerks like Lexmark will never understand. Lexmarks a good name for him. He's got about as much soul as a computer printer. I hope he doesn't have kids. If he does, I pity them, and his wife. They live with a monster. BTW, Gif, my rescued Quaker parrot is doing great, he's starting to talk too. Big sweet spoiled rotten baby. He loves to be sung to as well. His favorite song is "Shoo-shoo Baby".

  • @lexmark136 ahhahahah thanks for reminding me of this video, got another good belly laugh from it.

  • @lexmark136

Fuck you dude, would you be crying if one of your companions died? I thought so! Shut up and keep your opinions to yourself

  • @lexmark136

Dude, really. This guy's companion died and you're calling him a child for CRYING?! You've cried before! You'd cry if your companion died! Jeez! Please just keep your opinions to yourself.

  • @lexmark136 oops i meant to hit the thumbs down button

  • @lexmark136 fuck you

  • @lexmark136 he can cry if he wants to.

  • @lexmark136 You have no sense of emotions what so ever i cried for two whole weeks even in school when my parakeet died so dont be talking smart one

  • @lexmark136 I think you should shut your mouth and go play with your gold fish. Parrot's no matter which species, are like little chidren, if you respect and love them they will get attached to you and you will have lot's of fun. It's very hard to loose a best friend,a companion who loved you more than anything in his life. My bird died and I didn't talk to anyone for around 2 days, it's very hard.

If you've never lost a pet bird, you won't know how hard is it, so keep quite

  • @lexmark136 ur one of the most pathetic human beings on the face of the earth...

  • @cincameron man...that is totally true...

  • @lexmark136 F you you son of a bitch! Cruel, cold people like you are the reason my wife and I feel that birds are better people than most people! Especially jerks like YOU! Fairy faggot? He's more of a man than you'll ever be! Part of being a man is the ability to feel for another, other than oneself. He cared for that bird, they had a relationship. I hope you lose someone close to you and I hope they're old. I hope some thoughtless creep says, oh, she was old what's the big deal. Jerk!

  • u made me cry too!!:(

  • I'm so sorry man. I started to cry when I watched this. That was a bit insensitive of your wife. D:

  • @luigifan1111 I don't think that she understood. And when Phoebe left me, she could not believe that it happened as it did. For the reasons that I stated, I wanted her to take this video, as I have only on other of this bird that I had kept for near 10 years. But to this day I miss this bird. Her welcoming call as I approached my home from down the street. She knew I was coming...

  • @SRSchoner

Aw. It's okay man, I know it's hard to lose something you love so dearly. Especially when it has a routine with you. You should be in comfort to know that she lived a happy life, with a great owner like you.

  • im so sorry

  • When I watched this video, I couldn't help to cry like a new born baby. I can relate so much to your loss, because I recently lost my parrot to that I hand fed from a baby. After my mother died, she was the only family I had left, and she was my only true friend, and best friend. No one know's how it feels to lose something so close to you like a bird companion until they open their hearts up, and not look at them just with their eyes as just birds, but as a part of the family, a best friend.

  • Well uhm.... these are animals right? come one people....

Save your sorrow and tears for human beings and let the animals run their course(it helps to keep things in balance). Sheesh

  • @SmalltimR Human beings are the problem. And as a Christian I weep for human beings. What we do to each other, our children is... Think on it. And to animals... Even worse. We should not have these birds, and I adopt them as they cannot be set free having been tainted by human touch and raising. The only thing I can do is give them the best life possible. And in their "course" their fettered life, they return so much. Those that know will understand.

  • @SmalltimR You do know what you deserve to be bitchslapped so hard across the face for saying that, right? What, do you think that we are actually HIGHER than animals? We ARE animals. And to say that to someone else, who the hell do you think you are? You clearly dont know anything about anyone. People BOND with their pets, theyre friends, family. You have no right ot say that. Get a pet. Bond with it. Make it part of the family. And then, after a number of years, watch it die. What say you?

  • @Kashlikaro So forcefully said Kashlikaro.... We are animals, and as it is, we humans are the worst of the species in so far as to what we do to ourselves, not withstanding the creatures around us. To bond with another species, be it a bird, a dog, cat, even a reptile... Is to come to the understanding of love.

  • My parakeet sunny died in my hands like that too, I cried for so long and it is still very sad for me, i am sorry for your loss.

  • So sad :( It even made my Quaker Parrot cry :( Bless your adorable parrot...

  • This is a SAD video for youtube. Im sorry for your loss, losing a pet is a hard. I dread the day I lose my cockatiel. I remember how painful it was losing my 16 year old dog I had through childhood. Its NOT a fun experience. Just now once they get old and become to weak and ill to go on. When they pass they are in a better place. A place without any worries or health issues.

  • This is a SAD video for YouTube! Sorry for your loss, it's tuff losing a pet. I cried just like you when my 16 year old cockerspanial passed away. And I'm NOT looking forward to the day my cockatiel passes.

  • u can clearly see the bird blinking but i wish my birds could do that

  • @vampire795 When the birds are healthy, if one is very observant you will noticed them blinking. But in Phoebe's case, she was dying, and her blink response was considerably slower, hence you see it. She was focusing on me, and she died with her eyes open... I loved that bird so much. In fact, I love all the birds that I have taken on from those that cannot care for them. When Scooby my Quaker died from diabetes... He died as I held him close... I have his ashes, too. To remember...

  • She died knowing that she was loved.

  • I am really sorry for your loss. I cried as I saw your bird look at you knowing that she was looking at you for the last time. She died knowing she was loved.

  • I know it's been years since you put this up but I cried so hard reading your description for the video... about the dance Phoebe used to do for you.

It's easy to see how much you cared for her and to hold her in your hands as she slipped away was a beautiful thing, although it would be so hard...

Bless you and I hope all is well and you now care for other birds. xoxo

  • I'm sorry. :-(

  • my leopard gecko died i cried for days i feel so empty

  • my bird was sick too..so i know how you feel. i really do

but watching this video just literally crushed me inside. all over again

  • @chocolatebunny666 Yes this video is hard to watch, there is a reason. Read the intro. I adopt birds from those that lose interest or can't care for them. All have had health problems due to bad food or environment. So many things that we have in our homes can take them down, and they die so fast. Laser printer toner killed my Phoebe, and I did not know it till it happened. Teflon pans, cigarette smoke, junk foods... And as an experienced bird lover, I am still learning how to...

  • My parrot died in my hands. So I know what it is like. My Indian Ringneck Parakeet lived 15 years, should have lived 25-30. It is like the death of a child.

I burried my parrot in a park that I used to drive by to go to work. He loved clothes so I buried him in a shirt. It was getting dark so I basically found a small cave and put him inside, covering it with a rock. He died a few years back and this video was very difficult to watch. It brought back all those memories.

  • Oh my goodness. What you wrote about her made me cry, much less the video itself. It doesn't help that your voice sounds like someone I love, so I'm even more empathetic to your pain.

I had six ducks, who can, in special cases, be just as affectionate as parrots and subspecies. I'm young and ruled by my parents, so when they told me to, I had to let my birds go free, even though they were raised by hand and one of them was sick. ): I miss them so much, and now I even miss little Phoebe.

  • A tear went down my cheek.....

  • :C sad, i would cry like that too if my bird died after 10 years thats like a faimly member

  • i cried to this.this is sad.. i have an indian ringneck sitting on me right now and if i lost her i would cremate her too :(. i'm so sorry bout your lost. :')

u will be fine.trust me. never forget her.

    x

  • @emma878787 Yes, losing a bird companion is hard, especially after having her for 9 years. I have her ashes nearby, and Scooby's, my recently adopted male Quaker who had diabetes. Scooby was with me for a year and a half, and I grieve over his loss too. He was a real talker. I love my birds. I have two other adoptions now, Gabby a male 'U'too, and Jasmine a female Goffin. Both talk.

  • i know your feeling, how old was the bird?

  • @mrmartial About 10 years old. She should have lived for 20 to 30.

  • dude i know how u feel, i lost my beloved petey (blue/black-masked lovebird) to a tragic accident 3 weeks ago and im still mourning him. he died in my hand =o( =o(

  • I am so sorry :( ....My dog Maxine, who's been my best friend for 15 years, has recently died and my heart is still broken over it. I just went and picked up her ashes today at the vet, and the pain came back all over again...but at least she is back home now. I feel your pain, and again, I am so sorry for your loss :( This video was hard to watch :(

  • Aww? I cried this way when my degu died. He hung on until I got home from work then died while I hold him. Was so sad but was so happy to be with him to the end.

  • Damn, that's emotional. I feel so sad for you :(

  • So sad. My boyfriend held his dove when his dove passed away, and I know someone who held a Quaker as she died. I can't begin to imagine what that is like. I have two birds, myself, a Nanday and a Green Cheek. The Green Cheek has epilepsy and the first few times he had seizures, his little feet balled up the same way, and I held him as you held Phoebe, fearing the worst. Yet I have not experienced what you have, and my heart goes out to you.

  • @avienne66 Phoebe had a final seizure, there was blood in her left eye, and her feet were balled up in that final seizure. I knew then that she was dying. I cannot even two years later hear this video. I am a very emotional person now, since my disability involving my brain. I always loved birds, and even now I have two adoptions, a Goffin and a Umbrella 'Too. My dreams often have birds, and the have emotions like humans. Few, that have no appreciation of birds, see that trait.

  • I'm really sorry for your loss. My budgie died a few days ago, I'd only had him 6 or 7 months and I was heartbroken.

  • dude i can see the bird blinking

  • @larah866 Please carefully read the introduction. One can clearly see that her feet and legs are paralyzed, and her breathing short. I am somewhat consoled by the fact that she did not die alone, on the bottom of the cage. She died in my hands mere seconds after this video ended. I have her ashes to this day. See the video regarding her cremation for proof of the fact if you need such. It is all there.

  • @larah866 yah i see it too.. but maybe it's just about to die...? maybe....

  • Mine died of a epilepsy scheseure in my hand :( im sorry for you loss

  • OMG IM VERY SORRY

  • mine was in that same position. but ifound him in his cage wheni went to feed and water him. i miss him so much =,(

  • @kade677 Yes, most of the time they are found dead at the bottom of the cage, as they usually pass on in the dead of night. Phoebe tried to hang on, and that morning, she fell off her perch as her feet could not clamp down on the perch. She flipped over in my hand, and shortly after died as I held her. Scooby, my adopted Quaker, I heard him fall at 5:45 AM, 01/23/2010. He died as I held him to my chest. I have their ashes, and miss them greatly.

  • @SRSchoner i think mine had a heart attack during a thunderstorm becuase he was alive in the morning and i found him at like 5. so both of your birds died within a 24 hour period? thats tough. im sorry

  • @kade677 Phoebe died on April 18th, 2008, and Scooby my next adoption had diabetes, he died on Jan, 23rd, 2010... I adopt birds from those that cannot for various reasons cannot care for them. Many are abused, neglected, or in Scooby's case fed poorly... When you adopt a bird... You also take on many problems. But the rewards are in the fact that you are giving the bird a good life however long or short it might be.

  • im sorry for your loss...i wouldov cried too:''(

  • When my parakeet,Carla, died,I couldn't stop crying.

  • Yes, they can really grab one's heart. Phoebe, when I see her ashes, feathers and the box she is in... And Scooby another adopted bird... died on Jan 23, 2010 as I held him to my chest... I have his ashes too... and both... I miss them greatly...

  • I'm sorry for your loss. Don't ever think you killed her I know it feels that way but don't dwell on that.

  • This is so sad,it made me cry too. I've been there for almost all of my previous pets.

It's like you are loosing a human being.Nothing less.Hope,by now,you have another pet...it'll never be Phoebe but I am sure Phoebe would want you to continue to give your love to another little feathered friend...

  • This made me cry. >.< My quaker parrot, Fonzie, died last March. He was my baby, and I loved him. He loved me, too, I know he did. Like... I'd go to bed, and if I didn't lay down he'd come flying over to say hello, and if I was laying down and sat up, within moments I'd hear him fly over and say hello. He was really special to me, and when he died I was devastated. I reacted the same way as you.

I'm sorry for your loss, I understand completely.

  • im so sorry for your loss the bird WAS like a family member,

i feel sad for your loss

it shows you loved it phobe a lot

  • my quaker went the same way her name was eve i had her for 4 years until she became sick i took her to the vet and we waited and waited for the damn vet to come in but it was too late she died in my hands while i was in the waiting room i dont have the heart to get a new bird yet

  • i feel for you dearly, my birds died one after one, my female sunny died from balimaia, and my other one died by her and chance the youngest died a day later.

    i cried nonstop!

  • I'm 12, and I have a pet dog, never a bird, but this made me cry. I hope you are okay, and may your bird, Phoebe, rest in peace. My best regards.

  • This is so sad. But thank you for sharing. It is very touching to see how other species can weave their way into our hearts. I hope that you have healed to a point where you have been able to begin a relationship with another bird. Someone with a heart as kind as yours should keep sharing that love. Blessings to you!

  • awwwww...... was he/she sick or just old??? im sorry

  • @vermontmom Phoebe died of cancer, and probably a liver problem as well. She was a seed eater, and that is bad for captive birds. Get them on natural ZuPreem pellets, or Roudybush, also veges, and fruit. But Phoebe had cancer caused by laser printer toner. I work part time at laser printer facility. I am exposed to printer toner and this I bring home. For seven years she was exposed, and this I think killed her. KEEP YOUR BIRDS AWAY FROM LASER PRINTERS ! They are deadly to birds!

  • @SRSchoner awww im soo sorry :(

  • But shes still blinking ?

  • @CuppyBooxx Please read the introduction...

Phoebe died in my hands seconds after my wife ended this this video. Everyone that has had birds die in front of them, or in hand, can see just from the video that Phoebe is in the very last stages. Her breathing, her paralyzed feet, and the slowness of her blinking-- all signs of her departure. That departure is frozen in my mind to this day.

  • @SRSchoner I'm sorry :(
