Your a boss man. I tried sit skiing for the first time today and loved it. What level is your injury? Im t 7 so i hope ill have the trunk control to carve as flawlesly as you do.
@TheKkronikK The first day is the hardest. If you get through it you'll be solid. I know guys with NO trunk/core whatsoever, who rip down the mountain faster than me.. So don't let you're injury level mess with your head. As you become more confident, you'll want to go faster. And when you ski faster, it's actually easier to turn/carve. Getting over the mental hump is the toughest part. Get as many days in as possible, and you'll be rippin in no time.
Wow that was great today was my second day on the mono ski.. I'm hooked! it is so much harder than you think it would be. leaning shifting looking and sitting up the right way all have a significant impact on the way the ski moves. I love it though. Headed back next week. I'm lucky to live here in Utah with snow of the best snow and great adaptive sports. Mono ski is so liberating I love it!
@bizgauthier Rock on! I swear it gets easier and more effortless as you put more days on the mountain. Having a solid local adaptive program is huge. And yes, it's the most liberating thing in the world:)
@immeemz2 Thanks! Stick with it. It's the most liberating think a person confined to a wheelchair can do. Please send me a message if you have any questions at all! Also, when you get a chance google "Challenge Aspen". It's a non-profit organization in Aspen, CO for people with disabilities. That's where I learned to sitski from day one. Rock on!
