  • Hi Arto, I couldn't get the video to load. I am professional musician. My ancestors were Wikla/Vikla from Bohemia. Have you researched history of Wikla in Finland? Are Wikla and Vikla in Finland related? Do you know if they migrate there from somewhere else?

  • I wish I knew why this so short piece is so perfect. Very nice playing... I'd have heard it more times than the dog quite happily!

  • Thanks gonnate! :-)

Yes, also to me it is a mystery, why this tiny piece is so perfect, relaxing, and perhaps even healing. On the other hand this was also the original intention of A. Kirchner, when he published this piece in his huge book about medicine in the 17th century! This piece was considered by him as a medicine! Perhaps he was right? Perhaps he actually was kind of father of the music therapy??

    Arto

  • Ok, but who actually composed the melody?

Is it him or is it an anonymous from Puglia, Italy?

  • @mertimos this music was composed by Athanasius Kircher in the XVIII century

  • Congrats - very beautiful rendering of a fascinating melody.
