  • Love this ;) Great post. Did you know that Telemann also wrote TWO "Royal Fireworks Music" unfortunately both pieces are lost, but we know the scoring including two sets of timpani from the bills for the rental of the instruments. Nine horns, nine trumpets, and oboes. Both pieces were written years prior to Handel's Royal Fireworks music in 1749, and I almost wonder if Handel knew of them.

  • he didn t write as much as j s bach or mozart in the same time period but he used to live longer

  • @anisuthideyakoindu

Telemann easily out composed Bach, by a lot. He wrote at least 12 complete cantata cycles. Over 120 orchestral suites survive too, Bach only 4. They're different composers but they were best friends and colleagues and Telemann was the god father to Bach's son C.P. E.

  • @telemannNnyc Well those arguments dont hold. Quality over quantity, not saying the quality in either composer is bad, quite the opposite :-)

  • Actually those arguments do hold. :-) They were very different composers; and Telemann was extremely prolific. And Bach even borrowed from Telemann. *Wink*

  • I've noticed you're one of few persons who actually bother to put the TWV reference in Telemann's videos! Great work! :)

  • It's quite ridiculous not to I think. He wrote more music than anyone else (or at least he has the most surviving compositions), so you got to be able to identify his music somehow.

    Thanks for the nice comments!

  • Pretty.

  • Pretty?!!?! Little girls are pretty!!! This is great!!! At least!!!
