Nice, but I ALWAYS will prefer LIVE (as opposed to recorded) music for the dancers. I know it's not always easy to find a decent ceili or trad group to play except for feis and oriechatas -- but even an accordian with a piano would be enough...
i think its nice to have a combination, years ago, at feis's for our figure, we mixed our shoes with hard and soft and danced to siamsa from lord of the dance and it worked really well
at our academy we use music like this which is basically a 'reel' so you can do treble reel steps to it - hard shoe. or reel; steps - soft shoe. they all start doing treble reel together, then when they do step down the line (individual) the 2nd girl obviously breaks away to do her own reel soft shoe step. we do it all the time - perform some treble reel steps in our pumps, its common thing to do as u get both forms of shoes in one dance! (u cnt change shoes mid dance!) - nice clip
I agree, and she stands out because she isn't wearing hard shoes. But I feel like it wasn't planned, maybe she forgot her shoes or has an injury. It's been known to happen.
this is my first time watching irish dance!! it is so cooL! it must be really hard to not move yr upper body and dance sense of balance must really good i guess. now i feel like taking up irish dance classes haha
At our school, if a girl in unsure of her rhythm, but knows the dance we just put her in soft shoe. That way she still gets to perform the choreography but it doesn't mess with the sound. She may have also just forgotten her hard shoes. It's been known to happen.
Lovely dancing and really nice dresses. :o) Please can you tell me what´s that song? I definitely know that from somewhere, but I can´t remember from where. Thanks and keep irish dancing! :o)
