@UnstableFailureX Nah, he just wanted to have some fun. This robot is designed exclusively to play guitar hero so it would be kinda pointless to test it for other things. As far as the controllers and pneumatics and such, there are much better ways to test precision and accuracy. Still a fun project though.

Because it's a company that is the business of making control systems such as this one and it's a cool marketing tool of their abilities. However, I would do it as a personal project just because it's fun. It combines some robotic elements, visions system processing, Windows programming, and a whole bunch more. For tinkerers this is fun to do.

To those who may not get it, the robot is actually reading the notes off the screen. As in its seeing the game and reacting to it... That actually isn't that easy of a thing to do.

It's a color recognition camera so it is an easy thing to do. They use these kind of cameras in packaging for sorting items of varying colors among other uses.

Have you thought about giving the bot a memory? When playing a song it will name it based on the first few notes. As it plays it can check if it has made a mistake and record each of the notes that are correct along with the time. After playing a song 2-3 times it should have it all in memory then it can just recall the memory after seeing the first few notes of a song.
