Why not Tiger? He has done more for sports then Tom Brady. Brady sucks..... Besides he is already beginning to fall apart. Everyone watches golf for Tiger, only a few people watch football for the Patriots.

i don't mind tiger being named athlete of the decade, i'm just not big on considering golf much of an "athletic" sport. Patriots were named team of the decade so it would be fitting if brady (NE's best player/ future HOFer) was athlete of the decade

@chrisr291 by the way, do you know that "the athlete of the decade" involves other sports such as football and tennis that are way more popular than golf, golf is only watched in the us mate! i loive in asia, nobody knows woods here and asia represents like 2/5 of the humanity, i'm from europe and only a very few people play gold there... and gold is barely a sport actually, and doesn't require any athletic abilities...

Tiger woods is a great golfer... In the whole arena of athletes, not so sure.

Its a shame he got married to begin with. If we was golfing and smacking ass on the side he would of been the Batman of golf. Oh well, he'll be back though, as good as ever.

It's ATHLETE, not man of the year...pertaining to his sport and only his sport, he is a great athlete at that, just maybe not the best person.

but trust me i tried it once and i gave up cuz its so hard, being an athlete has to do with talent and accuracy and all that stuff and i think he has it so technically he is an athlete

and Golf is a bussiness sport u see all the CEO's playing golf but their having meetings on the golf course while playing. its a big money game.
